Protek Painting & Roofing

Protek's painting ability was not that good at all, but the sales person that I was in contact with was great (unfortunately he no longer works for the company). If your home does not have any repairs, they would be the company for the job. I on the other hand have an older home that is brick framed. I wanted the bricks painted white and I noticed that there were stripes amongst the paint. I found this strange since it was suppose to be sprayed and not roller or brush painted. The front entrance of my home needs to be repainted already because of all the cracks that should have been packed and sealed. They ensured me that they could rehab my shutters, but now the paint is down to the wood. I have been in contact with their sales person, but they have yet to come and resolve anything. This company was paid in full, and I have not received any satisfactory work. They were on time as scheduled, it's just their level of expertise is not the best.

It went great. I would highly recommend it to anybody. They were very professional and very prompt. They moved a bird nest and then moved it back after they were done.

We were very pleased with the quality, price, and attention to detail. Kory was attentive to our requests for some minor repaints and touch-up work during and at the completion of the job. Everything was done to our satisfaction. They did some good carpentry (replacing some trim) before painting the exterior, which turned out just fine. Our overall experience was excellent.

Kory, the owner, was somewhat arrogant and non-responsive. He couldn't articulate why his costs were 50% more than anyone else, but in the end basically said that he is well off and would rather not do the job if he can't make a nice profit. His most significant comment as to why his costs were higher is that Protek doesn't water down the paint and uses full strength. Whatever. If he can keep his crews busy and make more money than the next painting company, that is his choice, but as a savvy consumer, I couldn't justify the extra money to an arrogant owner that couldn't demonstrate why he deserves the extra money. Oh, and one last item, he bragged quite a bit about being the top painting contractor on Angie's List. Not sure that was all too accurate either.

He was very professional. He wasn't the cheapest but he was knowledgeable and explained everything to me. I will be choosing him to do the work.

Wonderful! The company sent a representative the day after I called, and in performing the work were able to re-arrange their schedule to accommodate some constraints I had. In the consultation, they were able to make a number of useful suggestions (a significant value add). When the work was actually completed, both my wife and I were delighted. The whole area looks like a brand new house! The painter was highly courteous and professional.

They were very good. I would use this compnay again if I needed to. We had some problem with what kind of paint that we were going to use but they fixed it right away.

We called them for an estimate. The salesman came out as scheduled and gave us a bid. We tried to call to ask a couple of questions, and it was several days before they returned our call. They left a message that said they were moving and hadn't been able to get to a phone(?). We called again to ask the same questions, and never got a response. We called again. They said their salesman had quit and didn't leave any paperwork, then they called two more times "to get started on our job." We decided that although they had the best price, and their work was probably very good, hiring a painting contractor shouldn't have to be an ordeal of excuses. We decided to go with another company.

They are clean and efficient their work was guaranteed, they had very nice workers working for them as well. It was also a plus that they were English speakers which is hard to find in our area.

They were very professional and the job went quickly. Protected all outside areas and did a great cleanup when finished. Tom Jones was the representative--things went just as he said if not even better.

They were not very good. I went with them for their guarantee and their bids were more expensive. However, a year later the paint was flecking and molding. It was rotting and looked thin in some places. Finally, after 3 or 4 trips and 10 to 12 follow-up calls, he finally got the job finished.

I hadn't heard of Protek until I saw a number of their signs around the neighborhood. We had planned on getting estimates from the same companies we contacted a few years ago for some interior painting. We added Protek to the list. All the companies were fairly close in price. What impressed me most about Protek was the feeling that I would be well taken care of, that they weren't just trying to sell me a paint job and that they truly cared about my satisfaction. The companies all had a similar process for doing the work. I guess what really made the difference was the actual rep. (Mike Moore) that came out to talk to me and give me an estimate. Of all the reputable companies we talked to, Protek's rep., gave us the most comfortable feeling. So, we selected Protek and scheduled the job. The job occurred as scheduled and took the two days we were told (one day prep, one day actual painting). The crew was prompt, courteous and respectful. They did a fantastic job. The house looks great! There were only a few minor items found during the walk through which were all promptly taken care of. We also had a couple of things to correct we found after the work was done and Mike made sure those were taken care of, all very minor things. I'm very pleased with the service and quality of work and would definitely recommend them.

Protek scheduled and responded promptly to a request for an estimate to paint the exterior of my house. They were very thorough in reviewing with me the work required to perform the job and then stated they would e-mail me an estimate. After a week I still had not received it, so I called was told Kory was sick and would get to it that day. Several days went by and I called again and this time was told they had just got a new computer and were having problems. I sent several e-mails and called again and at a month later still have not received an estimate and/or a response.

The job was very professionally handled. The bid was right on and the work to be performed was described in detail. Kory, the owner, was very helpful in matching a new paint color to windows we had just installed. All work was done as promised and the workers were very clean.

Took a week with one rain day delay. Great crew and Cory was very knowledgeable when consulting on color combinations.

It took a couple of days for Kory to call back but once we got going it was smooth sailing. In retrospect I understand the delay and why he has a full plate. Kory was as conservative with the estimate as he possibly could (I'm on a fixed income and disabled). He had some excellent suggestions regarding the colors and he definitely knows his business. He came along with the guys on the paint day and detailed everything for them. The guys were very polite and patient with me since I had accidentally scheduled tilers for one of the bathrooms on the same day. They were ready to drop everything and get that bathroom painted right away, however, it was best to re-schedule the tilers for the next day due to the possible dust. I suffer with MS and was able to rest comfortably while they were working, that's how quiet they were. Everyone did a great job and I could not be more pleased. AAA from me!

We had some difficulty coordinating the initial visit and getting the quote. They called to cancel the first appointment the day of the appointment which was a little frustrating. However, once everything was scheduled it went like clockwork. Kory was helpful in working out what needed to be done to meet my needs. I did not feel any sales pressure. The work was FANTASTIC. The crew worked really hard, and they did an excellent job including cleaning up. We had one minor problem with an area of the front door where the stain did not match exactly; they were quick to fix this. I could not be happier. We had another quote from someone a friend recommended and the pricing was almost identical.

We used the website to get a free estimate. It took them slightly over a week to get back with us on that. Then Kory came out and went over the entire project is excruciating detail. You can really tell he LOVES his work! He gave us so many options that we nearly went crazy deciding EXACTLY what to do. But he guided us very well through the whole process and we finally settled on a plan - which was a mid-priced plan. The work started several days later early in the morning and it was amazing to watch them work. They got after it like killin' snakes! Nice guys. And HARD workers. They really knew what they were doing. By noon the following day the work was all done! (It would have taken me a month to do what they did in one and half days!) Kory came out the next day and went over the work with a fine tooth comb. He spent nearly an hour with a razor blade scraping some paint off the windows that was scarcely noticeable. He's a fiend for details! We paid by check.

Perfect experience. Kory Cheatham was on time and gave a professional and competitive estimate. Work was high quality, on time, professional, clean. Kory was on the premises before, during, and after. Final bill matched estimate. Very friendly, excellent quality work in all ways.

The city cited us for the paint on our chimney being faded and peeling. We contacted Protek and got an estimate. First they gave an estimate for the whole house, which if we had the money we would have done. It was a good estimate. Then they gave just a price for the chimney, and it was the lowest we had received of four estimates. We accepted the bid and were told it would be about two weeks for them to start. Unfortunately it rained every day for almost a month, and they couldn't work. But on the 4th of July, the sky cleared, the sun came out, and Protek arrived and quickly went to work. They did a good job, cleaned up after themselves and left. In fact they left before I had a chance to pay them! So I called them and sent them a check. When the time comes to paint the whole house, they'll be first on our list of people to call!

I think they did a great job and were very professional. Their price was the lowest of all the estimates that I got. They were very responsible and punctual and I was really happy with them.

Their technique and expertise showed in the finished work. The lines were perfect and the colors actually looked good together. I would have to say that the clean up was a breeze because there was hardly any mess. I don't remember the exact cost but I thought it very reasonable.

The job they did exceeded my expectations. It was a big job and it was done in a timely manner. The rooms are beautiful and the clean up was very good. I would recommend them to anyone.

The work looks good and the crew came on time and they did not make a mess with any paint, which I was happy about. My only problem is that they forgot the white paint for the baseboards and I had some that I bought and they said if I gave it to them they would replace it. It took them about six to eight weeks before they replaced my paint. Overall I am satisfied with the work and the crew that did it.
