Protek Painting & Roofing

The estimator arrived at the house during spring break. I was not home but left his card and stated he had some questions and would email me. A few days past so i emailed him to determine his questions. A week passed and I decided to give them a call again to see where the bid was at. I was told the estimator also had spring break and that with the bad weather, he was unable to get the bid sent off . I was told I would receive it shortly after I answered the questions over the phone. I still have yet to receive it - 4 weeks later. If they cannot get the bids right, how can I be sure the work will be any better.

I found them on Angie's List and called to set up an estimate. The lady on the phone was professional and friendly and worked with me to find a time for an estimate working around my work schedule. Jarrod Hamlin, who performed the estimate, arrived on time and was professional and knowledgeable. I had the estimate in hand before he left and he applied a $300 Angie's List coupon to my estimate that I didn't even know about. Their price was so in line with my expectations that I didn't even get a second or third estimate. I called the next day to schedule the work and they arrived on time and began working immediately. The painters were friendly, quiet and very hard working. They started in the morning and worked until after dark. The house immediately began looking better by that evening. The following work day, one painter came back to finish the touch ups. Thoughout the entire process, Jarrod Hamlin stopped by and looked in occasionally to be sure that the work being performed was as we discussed and to see if I had any questions. They did a walk through with me before they left to ensure that I was satisfied. They took care with my property and kept my gate closed as I requested so my dogs didn't get out. All in all, I couldn't be more satisfied. I'm thrilled with how the house looks and would use Protek again - absolutely!

First day was a bit rough. Carpentry work was beyond the ability of gentleman performing the work. It was ALL corrected to my satisfaction the following day, however. Very glad that we elected to pressure wash the brick and mailbox, it made a real difference especially since our mortar is white. They pressure washed the patio as well, which was a pleasant surprise. Kevin was very knowledgeable, responsive and professional--very customer oriented. Price was very competitive. Gentleman supervising the job was very thorough and committed to my satisfaction with the work. Home looks very nice.

I called Protek and received a call back right away and Jarrod Hamlin came out the next day to give me a bid. I called 3 other companies and didn't get timely return calls. "see above"

Final product looked good. They took care of all of my concerns immediately, no delay.

Protek spent a lot of time discussing options with me such as which wood trim to replace and what materials to use. They power washed the exterior, replaced rotted wood, did a great job of caulking, and did a great job painting. They offered a slightly different color of paint to compliment the brick. It was a good call. I couldn't be happier. I don't know what more I could ask. And they did it all for a reasonable price. The guys even worked on Thanksgiving.

They painted the whole house. They were able to paint the interior before we moved into our new home. It took less than two weeks from the first call to when they completed the work. They did an excellent job.

The experience was very professional. They sat down with me and discussed in detail the process and the type of paint to use. The job took 2-3 days and the results were very clean. I was very satisfied with the result.

Soon after I made my initial message to their office Kevin Cheatham called and made an appointment to come by and do an estimate that afternoon. He listened carefully, walked the premises, thankfully noticed some issues that I had not seen, and wrote a very reasonable estimate. The work was done in a timely and thoroughly professional manner. The quality of their work was excellent and their clean-up was complete. Even though this work was on my residence, I intend to use them on my commercial properties in the future. Jarod returned my call and was able to come out and give me an estimate within a couple days of my initial call. Another company had quoted me $800 more for carpentry that Jarod didn't believe needed to be done. They worked me into their schedule to accommodate other work I was having done. The work was done in a day. Jarod came out the next day and walked around the house with me. There were a couple things that were missed or I had forgotten to mention. The items were completed by the end of the day. The work was done with minimal disruption and the clean up was thorough.

I was impressed from the outset. Kevin was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. We walked the house, and he made extensive notes of the work to be done. He described in detail the quality of work that they do and made some recommendations. He left a packet of information with me, including an lengthy list of references. There were two crews that did the work -- one for painting and one for the gutters. Each team seemed very knowledgeable about their area of work. For the painting, they pressure washed everything, and completely caulked all areas prior to the painting. The front door was quite weather beaten. They sanded it completely, stained and then finished off with varnish to protect it. All of the workers were courteous, worked long days and cleaned up completely at the end of each day. I was very pleased. I now have a new-looking and snug house.

Everything went well. Protek didn't try to sell unnecessary services and they did an excellent job.

Kory Cheatam (owner) provided a reasonable quote, although a little higher than other estimates. I sensed that Protek charged a little more because they spend a lot more time on the prep work than others. Kory spent quite a bit of time with me walking around the house discussing each section and the work to be performed. The painters arrived on time and immediately started work. They spent all day Thursday (until dark) and a few hours early Friday morning prepping the house. They painted Friday afternoon/evening until dark. They came back (+ Kory) on Saturday morning to finish cleaning up. Kory walked the house with me again to ensure no issues. Kory found a couple of minor issues that he immediately had his crew repair. Bottom line, Protek is a very professional, experienced and efficiently run company. I would use them again and recommend to my friends/family.

Painters were punctual, efficient, and hard-working. Work was completed within time frame estimated. Have recommended Protek to others, and would use them again.

Overall went very well. Took estimates form 4 companies; they were not the lowest but I was impressed with the way they handled the appointment and the way the estimate and other collateral (like a folder with references and other information which none of the others provided) was presented. They made me feel like they were working for me and not doing me a favor which is the impression one of the others gave. All call-backs etc were prompt. Team were professional and cleaned up after themselves. I was amazed at how late they worked on a couple of evenings (9pm!)

I worked with Kevin to pick out new colors for the trim and siding and I couldn't be happier with the results. Protek replaced several trim boards that had been gnawed on by squirrels on the front gables of the house and replaced siding and trim on the back of the house that had been damaged by the previous owners' dogs. The crew was very professional, cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly, and completed the job very nicely in two days. I've recommended Protek to friends and family since they completed my project.

Protek was very professional, responsive and efficient from day one. Jarrod gave us a thorough review of our needs and a very fair estimate. The work was done in less than two days. Raul and his assistant were extremely neat and VERY considerate of my landscape. I have lots of plants for butterflies and the Monarchs were very busy when they were here. They were very knowledgeable, neat and efficient! The Protek team did a fabulous job and I would highly recommend them!

They completed job in 2 1/2 days. They were neat, cleaned up after themselves and were professional. The paint was applied well and was not a thin coating with diluted paint (like the builder had done). I was pleased with their work and would definitely use them again.

I have not received a call nor a written proposal as of yet (Aug 27th). I also email him a couple of days ago concerning the proposal. I made chose a company to paint my home yesterday.

Kory came out to give us an estimate for interior painting for our 3000 SF house. He was knowledgeable and professional explaining in great detail his experience, techniques and quality of work. We spent over an hour with him discussing the job and determined that his schedule would allow his crew to perform the work later in the month or early the next month. I took time off work to be at this initial appointment. 3 calls and 2 weeks later, we still have not received a quote. Got tired of the excuses and lack of responsiveness. If the company didn't want the job, I wish they would have just told us so that our time was not wasted. The job was a large one and within 10 miles of Protek's location. It is too bad, because we liked the original presentation/professionalism.

The individual that came out to look at the house May 10 seemed knowledgeable and professional. I wanted to use a local company. I really think they would have done a good job. I was disappointed they never got an estimate to me even though I did follow up with them several times and they actually called with an explanation about an unexpected delay. I completely understand things can come up but even after waiting some more, I still never got an estimate. I hired another company June 13 that had done a very thorough estimate on site June 7.

Excellent, detailed proposal containing extensive references. Representative was extremely friendly and courteous, and I had full confidence in his willingness to see that his company's work would meet my full satisfaction. However his estimate was higher than two others that I received with whom I was equally satisfied.
