Clint called before starting my way which was great! I had an early apt on a Tuesday morning so it was nice to know they were on their way and they would be on time. They came on the day and time specified when we made the apt. I bought my house two years ago and had never used the chimney. I wanted to use it before selling in the spring so wanted to see if there were any problems. He quoted me a $109.00 fee for showing up and inspection and then $40.00 if it needed cleaning. When they got there he noticed that I had a couple issues that an inspector would pick up on when selling my house in the spring so offered to fix it so I wouldn't have another service call in the spring to make the fix. He said it would be about $40.00 to fix and made the fix before they left. They were fast, efficient and cleaned up before they left. It was a pleasure to do business with them and would recommend them to anyone.

They showed up almost immediately, did a good job, explained the problem, left my home clean - no ashes or other debris. Very good service.

The ice storm that hit the Metroplex in early December 2013 left us without electricity for over 8 hours. With nowhere to go, as the roads were icy, and no way to keep warm or cook food, we found ourselves a little miserable as the day progressed. We had purchased our home 2 years ago and the inspector at the time said we needed a chimney inspection prior to using the fireplace. Mia culpa for procrastinating on that inspection! Immediately after the storm, I called Hale Chimney Service. We were scheduled within a reasonable timeframe. He and his helper showed up as scheduled. They cleaned the chimney and inspected it inside and out. There were no problems to be fixed, thankfully We would use his service again and freely recommend him to others.

He arrived on time, was courteous, quite professional, and he provided us a picture of the top of the chimney showing that it was in good order. He was friendly and conscientious. I would definitely call him again.

14 years in this house and never used the chimney. Recently had house resided and wanted to make sure the chimney was safe to start using. Martin and helper inspected my chimney, cleaned it and installed an animal guard at the cap. Martin showed me how to open the flue and explained how to safely operate the chimney. He also educated me on the types of wood and what to expect using each type. All around a good experience. Felt confident to start using with his instruction.

We never heard from them again. I called and spoke to owner who assured me he would find out delay. But still nothing.

They called ahead of time to let me know they were a little late. I had to have service done for buyers of my house after home inspection. I thought the sealant which consisted of just some caulking was a little overprices for two places at a cost of $60. They were very friendly and otherwise easy to work with.

Provider did a thorough job and appeared knowledgeable and professional. Would use again.

My house was built in 1925 and I am the 3rd generation to live in it. My parents, who owned it between 1958 and 1997, took good care of it but I suspect they never had the chimney serviced since it wasn?t used during those years ? and honestly, it never occurred to me either that it might need some attention. The problem was revealed when I moved some furniture recently, with plans to refinish the floor. I saw that there had been some water leakage directly behind the chimney ? the wood floor was slightly water-stained in that area. So I knew I?d better have a chimney expert have a look. The leak-finder, whom I discussed the problem with over the phone, highly recommended another chimney repair company (not this one) which I promptly called. Their receptionist couldn?t discuss the problem, she was simply a receptionist. This inability to get information didn't create confidence in them, so I chose another highly-rated chimney expert to call with an inquiry. That chimney expert was happy to talk, but I felt that he pressured me towards a solution I wasn?t interested in: sealing the outside brick of the chimney wall. Unless I agreed to have this done, he said, he couldn?t guarantee any of the work he would do for me. Both of those chimney repair providers were top-rated on Angie?s List and had plenty of positive reviews. But I didn?t feel comfortable with the communication I?d had with either of them. That?s why I called Hale?s Chimney Cleaning & Repair... even though they only had a couple of reviews. The communication I had with Hale gave me confidence in them, so I made an appointment and didn?t have to wait more than a few days for the service call. Martin Ledesma arrived promptly and had a friendly, sincere manner. His examination of the chimney revealed several problem areas (one of which was caused by sloppy roofers who didn?t properly position the flashing and shingles around the chimney foot). The chimney pots weren?t covered. The mortar cap of the chimney was in ancient crumbles and there were gaps where gaps shouldn?t be. These details were shared with me by cell phone photographs. Martin was very patient with all my questions. He itemized the required services and ordered them according to their most critical need, so that I could choose which ones to go ahead with. We made an appointment for the work to be done on the following week. All the work was completed as promised, with follow-up photos that Martin shared of the carefully finished work. This was a thorough maintenance and repair, complete with mortar supplementation and a new chimney cap. He also double-checked his work afterwards and graciously re-positioned a brick that hadn?t been correctly aligned. It?s rare to find a craftsman who genuinely cares about the quality of his work, is willing to do what it takes to get it done right ? and whose communication skills are so exceptional. Martin embodied the very best of these qualities. I was glad that I took a chance on this company. Owners of service companies don't usually take into consideration that many of the homeowners who hire their services are women, and most women ? like myself ? place a lot of value on communication skills. Educating your customer is a far better sales approach than pressuring the customer to agree to your favorite solution, with no offer to back up your work unless you agree to their method. For this reason, Hale Chimney should give Martin Ledesma a raise! I will not only happily use this company again ? but now I know why a chimney needs servicing now and then, even if you aren?t using it!

Had a little trouble coordinating a day to come out, but that was due to cold weather snaps. Once they got a good day they came right out and it was done in no time! Really easy going, nice guys to work with.

My neighbor had referred this business to me months ago. My dryer had been shutting off before clothes were completely dry so before calling in a repair service for the dryer, I decided to have this service done. I've been in my home since 2005, this would be the first time having the vent cleaned. They were super nice and appeared knowledgeable, gave me some background and responded to questions and concerns. They climbed on the roof and began to pull up the shingles around the cap which immediately caused me concern. He assured me it would all be put back secure and he would talk to me about benefit of replacing the cap that was originally installed with the home. He used the normal tools that sweep the vent, but I didn't really have much buildup. He had taken before and after pictures and showed them to me. They also checked the vent hose from the dryer to the wall and found 3 dead birds. I have no idea how long the birds had been there and never noticed a smell of them dying. They recommended replacing the terminator cap which would prevent critters and birds from entering through the roof. The price seemed more than reasonable to have it done and have it done by a professional. I have been able to run the dryer since having the vent cleaned and was hopeful that solved my problem. Unfortunately while I can dry a load or two of clothes, it has shut off a few more times. But at least the dead birds are out and hopeful with the new cap no more will enter. I would highly recommend this service provider!

I called for an appointment during the busy season. They were very responsive, had a tech in the area and came later that same day. They did a very good job of explaining everything to me. Kept the area clean with drop cloths and cleaned up on the way out. Very good work and I would be happy with using them again in the future.

Martin and George were always prompt and on time and were a pleasure to work with. My old sideboard chimney was 27 years old and had started to leak and rot in several places. All of the old trim and sideboard was removed and the chimney frame was strengthened to be able to support the newer, concrete laced sideboards. The entire chimney was then caulked and painted a color of my choosing. While painting, they were also very careful not to get any overspray on my fence or my brick walls. The job site was always completely cleaned at the end of the day. They even used magnets to find all of the nails that had fallen into my mulch. The job only took 2 full days to complete and looks wonderful. Martin and George both take great pride in their work and it shows as the chimney is absolutely beautiful. I waited to file the review to see how the chimney acted in a rain storm and the chimney is sealed perfectly - I have no leaks what so ever. Martin always made sure I knew what they were going to do and when they would be doing it. He also took as long as necessary to answer any questions that I had. It was a pleasure because I could tell that he was happy to take the time and that both he and George are two of those rare individuals that take great pride in a job well done. Earlier this year they swept my chimney and I got the same great quality of work. I am able to gladly recommend them to anyone needing any sort of chimney work.

When I called to set up appointment he was able to come the next day. He arrived a little late but called ahead and let me know he was on his way. Finished both jobs in about 30 minutes. They were courteous and professional. The total price was a little higher than some of the other companies on Angie's list, but I have a thing about trying to employ local , privately owned business so I was o.k.with it.

I found them to be very thorough and efficient.

After we returned from vacation we heard lots of baby birds chirping in our laundry room and the crew came out very quickly and removed the nest and birds. They also found some nesting material in our dryer vent. The checked all additional vents (6) and they were clear. We were very pleased.

Martin Ledesma and his crew did a fantastic job getting my old 1940 era fireplace and damper in working order. First, they cleared out the dead bees and discarded honeycombs from a bee infestation that had taken hold of my chimney for the last two years. Then they created a custom chimney cap with a decorative pattern that matched my porch rails in addition all of the work to make my fireplace function for the first time in 22 years. Martin was great at returning calls and keeping me updated on the status of the installation efforts. Hale's Chimney is certified by all of the major certifying agencies in the US for this particular service industry. They were wonderful to work with and I recommend them highly.

I had used them before. They were prompt and on time. They got the job done quickly. The overall experience was excellent. I would use this company again in the future.

We have our dryer vent cleaned annually in the spring and had it done in March of this year by another company. The performance of the dryer did not improve and I finally found Hale's Chimney Cleaning and Repair on Angie's List. They were able to do the work the same day that I called. The technician removed a massive amount of lint from the dryer vent which made it obvious that the other company had not done the job properly. The amount of lint also posed a fire risk and we are fortunate that we had no issues before they were able to clean it properly. The technician thoroughly cleaned up all the debris outside and patched a tear in the dryer vent hose as well as cleaned up thoroughly in the laundry room. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the service performed.
