Furniture Refinishing and Repair, Leather & Vinyl Repair, Upholstery Cleaning
About us
For more than 40 years, we have been restoring Leather and Wood furniture to like new...We offer Residential and Commercial On~site furniture repair services.
The only reason that I’m giving a two star instead of a one star is because they did repair work on my other furniture at my house and most of it turned out pretty well, except for the dresser touch up was the wrong color. They also refunded me for the “damaged repair work” that they did to my chairs. After having Mark Jr. come out to my house to work on my furniture that had small damages from a cross country move, I asked in an email ahead of time for an estimate if he could strengthen the arms of my dining room chairs that became slightly loose and wiggly after our move. He came out and worked on my pieces of furniture that needed repair and started to work on one of my vintage 1976 Thomasville armchairs. He started drilling into the wood from underneath and found out that it was going to be a more involved project than expected, plus he wanted to get back to his workshop because he had spent a few hours trying to fix my furniture and had delays because someone had used orange colored stain that was all over the inside of his toolbox. I trusted him and said he could take the dining armchair and the other matching dining armchair because it also had a slightly loose arm. When he came back with his nephew two weeks later to finish the touch up work on my furniture and to drop off the dining room arm chairs, I noticed that something about them looked different. At first, I thought that they had shaved off underneath the arms because the arms looks thinner to me. I thought that because the arms were positioned slightly different. I also did notice right after they left that the back of the seat on one of the chairs did not lineup with the leg of the chair and that there was a gap exposing the joints where it should have been closed. When I investigated underneath the seats of the chairs, I noticed that there was braces that were put back in crooked, there were tongue and groove that were broken out, a screw that will not lineup now because they put a wood brace back in incorrectly and now I cannot use the fourth screw in the bottom of the chair to secure the seat. There was also glue that was dried and dripping on different parts of the chair. My one chair now sets crooked and wobbles on the floor when it never used to. If I would’ve known that they would have to disassemble my chairs and take them apart to strengthen the arms and then put them back together incorrectly and break out the bottom underneath seats at certain points and change the braces, I would’ve never agreed to let them take the chairs to the workshop to strengthen the arms! I was perfectly willing to give the shop a chance to correct their mistakes and let both Marks work on the chairs again, but when Mark Sr. came to my house, he didn’t explain to me how he was going to fix the chairs, he told me that he needed to let his employees that were inexperienced practice on customers’ furniture to learn, and that he referred to them as, “It’s just stuff!” after he showed me that he had a hard time walking on his legs and ‘that’s something to worry about!?’ Plus, he was trying to hurry up and take them and put them in his car and say that he was putting me first!? I didn’t want be put first, I just wanted the chairs to be done correctly. That was a big worry for me that he acted that way. Who lets amateurs work on vintage 1976 Thomasville furniture from North Carolina that’s now no longer in business!? This shop even had advertised on their website that they worked with Thomasville! Yet, whoever they had in the shop work on my pecan and burlewood vintage chairs treated it like it was cheap particleboard stuff, like the kind you order from Amazon and would assemble yourself!? I also didn’t like how Mark Jr. raised his voice at me at your workshop that, “I didn’t look under the chairs for 15 years!!” I never said that! I told him that my mom bought the set new in the 1970’s and that it was a Thomasville. He’s the one who told me on his first visit to my house that Thomasville went out of business. So, he was certainly aware that it was a Thomasville set and not some cheap set that anybody can buy anywhere. He should’ve told me that he was going to have to take the chairs completely apart to secure the arms. If he would have been forthright and told me that he would have to disassemble them to make them tighter, I would’ve not had him take the chairs. I would not have had them worked on at all. So, beware!!! They’ll treat your vintage, family heirloom, pecan and burlewood furniture like it’s just, as Mark Sr said, “stuff!” And they will let inexperienced workers “practice” on your irreplaceable heirloom furniture!! Oh, and by the way, if I were to buy these two chairs, the only two that I can find on the Internet are both going for $470 a piece! So, I would have to spend close to $1000 just to replace these two chairs if that’s my only recourse because they did so much damage to one of the chairs!

Chain of Events: May 4, 2017: Mark and Mark Jr. picked up the chest from my home. Judy said it would take 4-6 weeks to complete. June 16, 2017 (week 6): Called Judy to find out what the status of my cedar chest is. She said she did not know, but she would text me the status. She told me they have a backlog of work because of the thunderstorms we were having. Wood is not able to cure correctly, or something of that sort. I said fine, not a problem. just let me know when it's ready. July 5, 2017 (week 9): Called Judy again to find out what the status is. She wasn't sure, but would let me know. She called/texted back to say next Friday, July 14 between 3-5pm it would be delivered. The delivery crew would call me when they are on their way and she would waive the $60 fee since they had it so long. I said, Great! July 14, 2017 (week 10): My husband and I rearranged our schedules this day in anticipation for delivery between 3-5pm. I had out-of-town guests to pickup at the airport, so my husband came home early from work to wait for the delivery and write a check. I returned from the airport at 5PM and Furniture Fixology was a no-show and no call. I called Judy and asked her "where my chest is." She said, "I'm wondering the same thing." I get a call back from "Mark" after 5pm. He said he was in the Dallas area and wouldn't make it to McKinney until around 7PM. He said his current job is taking longer than expected; his client's child placed their hand on a piece he was fixing and he had to fix the damage. He went on and on about his current problem. I said that's fine, I'll be home waiting for the 7pm delivery. He said, ok. 7:30PM still had not arrived. No call to let me know he was running late. At this time I called Mark's cell phone; no answer. I called Judy's cell phone; no answer. I left a voicemail for both of them. After we cancelled dinner plans with our guests; unpacked our historical WWII memorabilia to store in the chest and waited 4 1/2 hours, Mark finally calls me back saying he can't make it. I said, "this is a problem. If you were not going to make it you should have called." I was not happy about the fact we rearranged our schedule with our guests; and waited all afternoon through the evening. He said, "well there's no need to get upset, it's not a focal-piece, I will deliver it tomorrow (Saturday)." I said, "fine, just leave the chest outside and I will mail a check since we won't be home tomorrow." He said, "no". So I hung up on him. It was pointless for me to argue with Mark because he was more concerned about his problems. I told Mark I found his lack of consideration for our time unacceptable. Now I don't know when I will get my chest back and no one has called to reschedule the delivery of my 80 year old cedar chest. So this is currently an ongoing issue. July 25, 2017: Finally received delivery of my cedar chest. They did a good job. However, no mention of an apology for the mess leading up to this. They did waive the $60 delivery fee.
Description of Work: refurbish an old Lane cedar chest that's been in my husband's family for 80 years.

Hi [Member Name Removed], I deliberately waited sometime to address your review so that I could respond accordingly with the facts surrounding the restoration of your piece. We were not fully aware of the poor condition of the piece until we picked up the item. In most situations furniture in this condition would be considered not salvageable other than it had sentimental value attached to it by your family and we understand the importance of that. You were fully informed and made aware that it was in much worse shape than we anticipated and we would need extra time to correct the damage inflicted by an inexperienced person who totally ruining the veneer by letting stripper sit way to long. [Member Name Removed], we feel that you were treated fairly. We took off the delivery charges and did not charge more for all the added expense and time it took us which would have been double of what we charged. I believe the demand but upon us for you wanting us to meet the original deadline overshadowed us wanting to do our very best work to honor your families heirloom. We appreciate that you admitted that we do good work. Best regards, Jude Parola Hooper Owner - Furniture Fixology, LLC

All of the pieces were absolutely beautiful. Their efforts were extraordinary. I also had them do repairs on my furniture on site at my home -- chips on furniture, antique lamps, repair antique mirror, etc. Again, they did a lovely job. Everyone I dealt with was professional, courteous, and competent. I am having Furniture Fixology do more work for me very soon. I give them an A+ rating without reservation.

Wonderful! Such a knowledgeable expert, and does amazing work! My armoire is back to its former glory and looks amazing and I learned a ton of details about it at the same time. So glad to find a true antique expert who can fix things! I also had a small antique table (that he told me is actually a humidor! I had no idea!) that had a table that had broken off in the move, he took that back to his shop and fixed it, you can't even tell it was ever broken. Thanks again for your amazing work!
Description of Work: Had an antique armoire from my grandfather that was in such rough shape, I couldn't re-assemble it. Furniture Fixology came to my house, fixed the parts that needed fixing, including a broken foot, and put it all back together. Also had leg of an antique table that had snapped off get fixed.

I couldn't be more please with the work preformed yesterday. My 5 year old recliner was showing its age with nuts and bolts popping out of the undercarriage. After searching for a replacement chair, I became weary of searching and compairing. I lucked out when I found and hired furniture fixology. I figured a catchy name like that was worthy of my looking into. Jude answered my call and she couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We discussed my fatigued recliner and I made an appointment shortly after. They showed up the next day which was great. Marc was extremely professional, competent and had a great attitude. I've sense resumed use of my refurbished recliner. Should anyone reading this review have a similar situation, I would strongly recommend using furniture fixology.

Furniture was higher end furniture over 8 years old. The leather chairs look and feel brand new, great lower lumber support and firm seat cushion. Now I remember why I loved these chairs when I purchased them. The marble table top also looks brand new. Owner's are friendly and responsive to the clients needs, reasonably priced and extremely knowledgeable. They come to you to do the repairs in your home or place of business. I'm telling all my family and friends, such a unique business. Will use them again in the near future!
Description of Work: Re-stuffed 2 leather chair backs and seat cushions, reconditioned leather and fixed backs. Polished Marble table top to remove etchings and scratches.
It went far better than expected. The 15 year old furniture looks brand new. Mark provided an estimate from pictures we emailed to him. We schedule an appointment and he arrived to the house with all the tools. He performed magic with the leather, re=stuffed the cushions, and repaired the tear. Mark is a total professional, prompt, nice, kept his work area very clean, was conscientious, courteous, and a skilled craftsman. Although the repairs and refurbish did cost $900, the furniture looks as good the day we bought it. It was a great savings to use the service that to look to replace. We had shopped and to find a comparable set it was going to cost us in the range of $5-$10 thousand. We are very pleased with the outcome. We highly recommend him and anticipate using him in the future. We highly satisfied with Furniture Fixology and Mark.
Description of Work: Mark with Furniture Fixology performed leather furniture refurbishing on our couch, loveseat, chair, and ottoman. The set is roughly 15 years old and was looking worn, drab, and cushions were sagging. One of the cushion was also torn, due to our dogs laying on on of their "favorite spots". We were contemplating replacing the set and we decided to look on Angies List to see if we could find a company that performed a service to repair and refurbish.

Furniture Fixology was referred by Thomasville (a VERY reputable industry leader). My repair was done on-sight which was a HUGE convenience. What I learned through extensive research was that most "furniture repair" is 100% cosmetic fix only. Furniture Fixology was able to utilize over 30 years of master craftsmanship to restore functionality too. Prior to my appointment the couch was sagging and virtually un-usable. Now I can enjoy my favorite couch for the next 10-20-30 years!

Everything went fantastic. I was able to have the chair repaired and back in my home quickly and without issue. The customer service was fantastic and I really enjoyed the feeling of working with a family owned local business. They were understanding about the sentimental value of my chair and assured me that they would have it restored in the fashion I wished. The work itself is great, the chair looks like it must have when it was brand new. I have recommended Furniture Fixology to all of my friends and will use them again myself if the need arises.
