Dave from Cedar Creek fences was extremely prompt in responding to my voice mail query on providing a quote for replacing my fence on my property where I was building a new pool. Within a day, he had scheduled a face to face meeting to measure and estimate the quote. At the appointed time, he showed up - he was very courteous and professional and explained the various options for fencing. He then measured out the areas to be fenced and said he would email a quote to me. By that evening, I had an email quote for the fence, along with pictures of a fence he had done in my neighborhood. He scheduled a follow up meeting with me to go over the quote. In that, we discovered that he had missed out one item to make my fence compliant to Frisco pool code - however, he was gracious enough to admit the mistake and quoted a very reasonable price [almost at cost] to fix this. Once I authorized him to do the work, he picked up an advance check [about 40% of the amount] and told me to inform him 2 weeks prior to starting the work [in order to get the lumber ordered and work scheduled]. Accordingly, based on the progress of my pool, I informed him to start work the first week of October in the middle of september. There was a little bit of confusion from him around the start date [based on notes he had taken when he had met me] and he indicated that the work could start only by mid October - but I let him know that the final pool inspection could not be completed until the fence was up and he was able to go back and reschedule the start date to the first week of October. On the appointed day, Pablo and his co-worker [octavio] showed up and started work promptly at 9AM. They took down the existing fence - on doing that, they noticed that towards the back of my property, there were reinforced boards at the back to hold back the soil - they recommended that I put in pressure treated wood boards along the bottom to ensure that the fence wood did not touch the ground - this would be at additional cost [nominal $150]. I actually preferred having these boards all around the fence area and so Dave quoted an additional $560 to get that done which I approved. Pablo and Octavio, over the next 4 days, worked long and hard [usually showing up at 8AM and leaving only around 8PM] to get the fence up. They were meticulous, professional and extremely hard working. Their attention to detail and satisfaction could not be better. When they saw any imperfection in anything, they would rather redo it than try and gloss it over. I now have a brand new fence that I absolutely love - today, I noticed that one of the boards in the gate had cracked [something that Dave did say could happen due to imperfections in some wood panels] and Dave promptly responded that he would get it fixed immediately. I would highly recommend Dave and Cedar Creek Fences for your fencing needs - I have a fence that I believe will last me a decade or more.

I researched quite a few fence companies and after meeting with Dave Phillips (owner), I decided we would hire Cedar Creek Fences to replace our old builder-grade fence that was starting to fall apart. Dave was great to work with as was his crew that was led by Pablo. Dave and his crew were very professional, punctual, and seemed to take much pride in their work. Dave in particular is very knowledgeable when it comes to his craft. We wanted a custom enclosure built around swimming pool equipment and Dave had some great ideas that we hadn't considered. We also had Dave install custom wrought ironwork, including a double-swing gate, in our courtyard and build a smaller board-on-board cedar privacy fence for a patio area off of our master bedroom. We felt that Dave's pricing was very fair for all of the different pieces to our project and it all turned out perfectly. Our main board-onboard privacy fence steps up several times as it goes around our property (one of Dave's great suggestions) as our property's elevation is higher towards the back of property. The result is that our fence is 8.5 feet tall at the back of property and our neighbors behind us can no longer see into our backyard when they are on their back porch. We also opted to have the metal posts used to support the fence boxed in, which really adds to the beauty of the fence. The fence was stained a few weeks after the construction was completed. We couldn't be happier with the whole project and our beautiful new fence! As with just about any project of this size, there were a few delays but I don't fault Dave or his crew. The main fence construction went as planned but there was a delay with the company that fabricated the wrought iron fencing around our courtyard, which was completed a week or two later. It wasn't a big deal for us and I'm happy that Dave kept us updated and made sure the work was done right even if it meant a slight delay. Overall, we're highly satisfied with Dave and his crew and the work performed. I would recommend Cedar Creek Fences to anyone looking for excellent quality fencing!

The owner (Dave) - one of the most professional contractors who I have ever met - very professional, punctual, and very responsive in a timer manner. Everything went according to the contract. The crews - As promised, the same crew of 3 came for work. They were very professional, and diligent. It is already 3 months away, so I forgot the detail at little bit. But I think that it took four days from the demolition to the new fence. Staining was done 3 weeks later. Things to improve from my perspective - Dave was very firm about his price. No negotiation was allowed, though his price was competitive. - Cleaning after the project was a little unsatisfactory. Overall, I was very satisfied with Dave, his crews, and the work. I highly recommend this company for any fence project.

If you have a very small job, don't bother. They only want the big stuff. No time for a small job in an older neighborhood. That sort of business attitude will always go the other way on you eventually. Tough lesson to learn. But they will one day.

My family had been searching for a fence company for quite some time to complete our new fence. In our Plano, Tx neighborhood there are a multitude of Cedar Creek Fences that have proven to last over a long period of time. Since, we had been evaluating various companies, we called Cedar Creek Fence to give us a bit. The owner Dave Phillips came out and spent several hours going over everything with my husband. He explained everything even down to the various materials that are used during the process. He also explained how fence companies "cut corners"... My husband was soooo impressed and told me "This company is the real deal." The bid came in exactly within our budget (we didn't tell Cedar Creek Fence what our budget was). The decided to sign the contact with this company! The owner was amazing in explain the process of permits, neighborhood association approvals, etc,.. So we knew exactly what to expect. Dave Phillips contacted us several times leading up to the install dates. Cedar Creek Fence workers were totally professional, very neat and every experienced. It was evident that our fence was not their first. The fence construction workers worked tirelessly for three days. Each day, my home was cleaned up neat and orderly. They finished the fence after three days. WE WERE SO IMPRESSED AND SO HAPPY! We live on a corner and our home immediately looked beautiful! Since having our fence put up we have received compliments from all of our friends and neighbors. The new fence has provided us privacy and made our home have better curb appeal. Construction of the fence and materials used are top quality! The old fence was covered in trumpet vines so the tear down was very labor intensive! The construction of the new fence is beautiful! The crew cleaned up everything each day so there was VERY little left for me to take care of after the work was completed. I can't say enough about the 2 men who constructed the fence. They were informative, professional, worked hard and answered any question I had. They did a fantastic job! Since the job was finished, I've had a contractor for another job comment on the beauty and workmanship of the fence so I am extremely happy with Cedar Creek Fence. Dave was very helpful and provided me with various options. Last time a fence was installed on our property was over 24 years ago so the prices were a shock, however, Cedar Creek Fence was within the general range of other bids I obtained. I'd recommend this company to others.

I am high maintenance and very picky about how I like things and dont spend money lightly which is usually a bad combination. In this case Im very happy with the team and their capabilities. They know what they are doing and I have had lots of compliments on the fence. They are great!

Cedar Creek eliminated all the things we disliked about our old fence. Not only was our old fence falling down, but there were large gaps between the fence and the ground and the top of the fence was very uneven and unsightly where sections joined together because of the sloping grade in our yard. But Cedar Creek not only addressed each of these challenges, they constructed a beautiful, sturdy and well-designed fence for us that exceeds all our expectations. They constructed gradual step downs in the fence to address the slope and finished off the top of the fence with a double tier molding and top cap that makes it look finished and beautiful. They also laid a kickboard so that we can't see underneath our fence anymore. Dave was a great communicator and listener. The installers were professional, kept the yard clean and worked very hard and efficiently. We love our new fence and so do our neighbors!

I had a great experience working with Dave and would not hesitate to use him for other projects or recommend him to others. He was sincere, trustworthy, accommodating and patient with my 9 million questions and emails. He responded quickly to every question and he thoroughly explained the process. He understands a new fence is an investment for the homeowner. His bid was not the lowest I received but I do not regret investing a little more for an incredible fence. His crew was timely, efficient and cleaned up after they left. I have a beautiful fence now.

Dave was prompt in coming out to give us a quote, and was very thorough (and patient!) in answering all my questions. We had gotten several quotes from other companies on Angie's List, but Dave's passion and knowledge about how to build a quality fence really won us over. The crew worked hard, even in triple-digit heat, and completed the fence as scheduled. Staining took place a few weeks later so the wood would have time to dry. After getting estimates from several companies we chose to go with Cedar Creek because of all their A reviews, price and the two fences they built for our neighbors. Dave Phillips was pleasure to work with. He answered all our questions and explained the process very thoroughly. They started by removing the old 8ft side by side board fence, all the wood post and cleaning up after. They then installed the metal post for an eight foot board on board fence. Each post was set 3ft deep. The job took 3 days and Pablo and Aaron did an excellent job. They were very meticulous in their work. The finished product was excellent and they cleaned up after very well. We were very pleased and we would certainly recommend them.

Dave Phillips contacted me right away! (In fact, of the five companies I reached out to, he was the only company to do so!) He came out within a few days to measure and prepare an estimate. He thoroughly explained the fence construction process. He was very attentive to what we had in mind. His crew was punctual and hard working; they do beautiful work. Our new fence is stunning! We are so happy! Our wooden posts that were put into dirt holes are now replaced with metal posts in cement-- right there is a huge difference that will improve the integrity of our fence. We requested that he match the front of our fence with our neighbors and compliment the design of their fence and it looks great! A neighbor told me he thinks our front gate is the prettiest he has ever seen. Everything he said he would do he did, and completed the work just slightly under his estimate. We felt very comfortable with Dave as a person, too. We also liked the way he spoke so highly of his crew as people, not just workers. It is evident that he thinks very highly of them. The fence exceeds our expectations and we have been happy with our choice in companies throughout the whole experience!

Superb. David was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. The crew worked was just as pleasant even in the middle of the Texas summer. They were able to complete everything within the time estimate, even with a minor hiccup. The hiccup was me missing the needed back gate in the initial spec. David took ownership of the issue and installed the extra gate without adjusting the overall price (which was 4k under a similar competitor). Fence looks great and we get compliments from everyone the comes over.

I had requested estimates from several different companies, but Dave was the first to get in touch with me. In fact, I think it was the same day on a week-end. His price was comparable to the others, but his response time and breakdown of the project was much better. He was very courteous and knowledgeable from the vey beginning until the end and was in contact throughout the whole process. He tore down an old 6' picket fence and replaced it with a new board on board 8' privacy fence. His crew was vey punctual and kept the yard cleaned up as they worked. They actually had to work through the rain the last day to complete the job. I too now have the nicest fence in the neighborhood.

Cedar Creek and Dave performed a phenomenal job on the new fence! He was very thorough in the project scoping and quote process. I got three different quotes for the same work, Cedar Creek was right in the median and included a top-cap which was not included in the quotes from other companies. His crew showed up on time, was professional and performed the highest quality craftsmanship. They finished the job right on schedule and we had no issues. The top-cap and boxed-in posts are a very visually appealing add-on and gives the fence a nice elegant look. We now have the best looking fence in our neighborhood! Working with Cedar Creek fences was a breath of fresh air. Dave, the owner was very involved and was extremely knowledgeable, understanding and patient explaining the process and various options. I have a fairly large back yard and was surprised how fast the work was done. They removed my old chain link fence within a few hours. The next day the entire fence was up. Dave was very professional and polite and even answered my email in the evenings if I had a question. I had quotes from two other companies and his was the most reasonable. One company wanted $8,000 more. I am not ashamed to say I have the best looking fence on my block and people walk up to it to see who made it.

If you are looking for a good looking, well constructed, durable fence that is reasonably priced then you should strongly consider an estimate from Dave. My wife and I interviewed 3 Angie list providers and 2 not on Angie's list and Dave clearly stood out. His team is the whole package and his quick replies and honest approach is most re-assuring. Putting in a fence is a big deal and some good money is involved. You will want to be totally comfortable with all things involved with this capital outlay. Dave is the man for the job to make it happen and to ensure it stays looking good for at least 10 years and mostly likely several years after that. I do a lot of stuff myself and do not write many reviews but I will take the time to write one for these guys because they did it right. This was money well spent for us. If you need or want a fence please put Cedar Creek Fence Co on your list to get a bid or estimate from. They did not disappoint us and I highly doubt they will you either. Dave's crew did work in April. Fence is very nice. As this is an old neighborhood with established yards,trees,and sprinkler lines. A few difficulties were encountered and resolved. Due to very wet spring we did not turn on our sprinkler system until mid July, unfortunately just prior to leaving town. A broken pipe was discovered where a fence post had been placed. We had the break fixed and were reimbursed by Dave. I feel this was resolved satisfactorily.. The true test of a good company is how they respond to problems.. Things ultimately will happen in this sort of situation

The process went very well. In the fall had received quotes from a number of Fencing Companies including Cedar Creek and the pricing was very similar and for a number of reasons we chose to hold off. We ultimately made the decision to go with Cedar Creek fencing in April because i) Dave sat down with us and explained in detail the materials and the methodology and also that ii) Dave is local to McKinney and also a previous resident of the same Community and as such has a lot of experience with the HOA. (I like to to where possible to use and support Local businesses) Dave worked with us on the pricing and came close to the quote he'd given us in the fall. We'd intended putting 7' fencing around the whole property BUT because of HOA requirements we had to have the fence remain at the same height as the Neighbors fences ... grrrrrr...... as a result Dave worked with me to figure out how to raise the height of the one side of the fence via steps even during the installation. Start of work was delayed due to the significant rain we had in Spring & Early summer. When it did start , the whole process took 2.5 days.. Daves installers are extremely experienced , they know what they are doing and the whole process was extremely smooth even working into the evening Day 2 . Day 1) Ripping out of old fencing, digging the post poles & installation of new metal posts with Fence rails Day 2) installing the vertical board on board fencing, this is when had to get Dave involved to extend the height of the one side of the fence as I could still see into the neighbors yard with the planned height of the fence (the ideal of the extended height fence was privacy for both Parties right ??) . Thanks Dave for mediating with the Wife over where the steps in the fence would go and not look bad Day 3) Top boards & Finish Trim Work was completed as expected. - Fence looks great.. Dave's team did a great job cleaning up the yard and removing all the waste / scraps. One challenges we had with the project was the neighbors concerned that we had switched which side of the fence the posts were on. for some reason when our house was built they but up the fence with the posts on the outside on the sides / back. I guess with the wooden posts the one neighbor hadn't really noticed this until Dave's team put in the new fence exactly the same way.... Something to be aware of (not sure what the etiquette is on fence posts is.. ) along with what another reviewer mentioned on property line (not a problem with us...) One comment my Wife had is that at completion we did not pay for the staining as this was subcontracted to another company to complete once the wood had dried (due to rain in May, Jun , it was finally completed at the end of Jun) . The reason for mentioning is we understand the concept only paying for completed work BUT : that we would rather had the option to pay the full amount including the staining as available funds often get reassigned to other projects.,. Dave has said that he'll offer this to future customers.. Great experience with Dave (Cedar Creek) and would recommend to others especially people in McKinney to support local business..

Dave Phillips drove to my residence to provide a detailed quote for the fence project. My background is in engineering so by nature I am interested in all the technical details regarding materials selection and the workmanship. Dave patiently answered all my questions to satisfaction and the contract detailed all the agreed upon materials. I chose clear grade western red cedar (highest grade) because it does't have any blemishes. It looks fantastic but it added 319 dollars to the cost above grade 1 cedar. This was well worth it in my opinion considering the overall cost. Other materials included ring shank galvanized nails, WAPO brackets to connect to .095 gauge steel posts, three 2 x 4 cedar rails, double trim with 2 x 8 cedar top cap, and 2 x 6 treated wood kickboard at the ground, and 2 gates. The cost was just slightly higher than other estimates, but still competitive. Dave's responsiveness and obvious technical knowledge factored in my decision. The work crew arrived promptly at the scheduled day and removed and hauled away the old fence and drilled new holes 3 feet deep and set the new poles. The second day the remaining work was completed. The work crew was obviously very experienced like they have been doing this a lot. The quality of the work is excellent, and the cleanup of the debris was good. The dirt from the holes was swept up and packed along the baseboard. The fresh cut western red cedar needs some time to dry out before stain can be applied, so the stain application was scheduled for a few weeks later. The staining operation was subcontracted, and the staining crew arrived on the scheduled date. This crew was also very experienced and took care to protect my and my neighbor's property from overspray. The quality of the coverage was exellent - they used a lot of stain and went over everything twice. I chose the stain color western red. It seems to me that the color is a little darker than the sample Dave showed me, but it still looks great. The staining operation took about 2 to 2 and a half hours. The crew properly cleaned up after themselves. Overall, this is a job well done and recommend Dave and his crew.

Dave came out and gave a detailed estimate for the job. He walked through his process and why he uses certain material over others. The estimate was about the same as the other estimates we received, the difference being he worked with me. We had another big name company give us an estimate, and he really didn't want to talk to me - he preferred talking to my husband. The estimate Dave provided was exactly what we paid. One of our shared neighbors did not want the stain on his side of the fence, and that was done as requested. At one point I was concerned as it seemed like the project wasn't starting - but in the end, he got it done right within the tie frame he promised. They did our fence in early April. Anyone living in this area knows the weather we'd dealt with in February and March. I was quite pleased it got done within time frame given. The biggest issue we had was when they had dug the holes and set the fence posts in the shared portion of our fence, they went too far into our neighbor's yard. Dave's project manager came and reviewed it and saw the problem and had their people fix the problem. So note, with any fence projects from anyone - keep an eye on property lines. Both us and our neighbor were pleased with the fix. Our neighbor had a couple boards he had issues with and Dave's team came right out and fixed them and our neighbor was satisfied with the new pieces. Dave contracts out the staining process. Mind you the wood has to dry. Given the rain in April and May we were afraid that it'd be August by the time the stain people got to us. However, as soon as we'd had 7 dry days they were in contact with us to schedule. After we'd agreed to a stain date, there was a major issue. We contacted Dave, and the issue was resolved within minutes and we were back on the stain scheduled as the company had originally told. The fence looks fantastic, we are very pleased with it. Definitely no problems recommending Cedar Creek Fences.
