I was looking for a new cleaning service since the individual who used to clean for me no longer could. I purchased an online deal for a set vouchers for housecleaning from Busy Moms for $350, a pretty good deal for 10 cleanings. However, I couldn't make it past my 5th visit from this company before I had to request a refund of my money. This company was nothing but problems, from the very beginning. After I purchased the vouchers it took me a week of calling and emailing to get someone even to call me back and schedule my first appointment. Since I only need service once every two weeks (my home is a fairly small 1300 sq ft and only two adults live in it), I used 5 vouchers over 10 weeks for every-other-week cleaning. Each of the 5 visits from Busy Moms were difficult to schedule. I consistently had problems contacting the company to determine what day and time my cleaning would be. I was never able to confirm more than a day or two ahead of time. Furthermore, each and every time Busy Moms came to clean there was some issue with punctuality. One of those times they delayed my visit for two days, while the other 4 times they were anywhere from 1-4 hours early or late. However, I was willing to work with that limitation as long as the rest of the experience was positive. Unfortunately, it was not. These house cleaners just didn't seem to me to have much experience at all. They consistently moved items while cleaning and failed to put them back in their proper place. Despite my asking them more than once to please return items to their proper places as they clean, each time they came I had to make a pass through the entire house putting things back where they belong. There were several other issues like this as well where I would ask them to please pay special attention to some part of the house which seemed to fall on deaf ears each time. Once they even put several pieces of very expensive cookware in the dishwasher! I thought everyone knew that cookware with a stick-resistant finish cannot be washed in the dishwasher, but even if that's the way these cleaners treat their own cookware I don't want them treating mine that way. Even with all these issues, I was willing to tolerate the service I was getting since I'd gotten a pretty good deal money-wise for these cleanings. However, all that changed upon their 5th visit to my home. I work from home and often have commitments that preclude housecleaning visit at certain times. After several rounds of emails, texts and calls to coordinate a specific time for my 5th cleaning, the cleaners were once again not punctual and arrived to my home 30 minutes before the time we had agreed upon. When they arrived I commented that I was frustrated at their unscheduled arrival, yet again. They apologized for their untimeliness as they did each time they failed to arrive on time. I thought nothing more of the interaction until I was trying to schedule my 6th visit and received an email reply from the owner stating that she wanted to "discuss my behavior". She went on to tell me that her cleaners said I had been "very rude" on their last visit and that I had "made a very disrespectful comment" and that she would not "allow them to work under those conditions". I have never been treated so unprofessionally by a service company before in my 44 years! There was no apology for their continued problems with punctuality. There was no promise to try better next time. There was no interest in hearing my side of the story. Nothing. Only a strong, matronly chastisement of me (the customer) and my "behavior" followed by the threat to discontinue their service. At this point I decided to cut my losses and request a refund on my vouchers for the unused visits. I refuse to endure any more interactions with this mediocre, unreliable cleaning service. If you are considering using this company, would strongly suggest you reconsider. It's just not worth it, even if you get a good deal like I thought I did.
