Description of Work: I have been using and recommending Pete Acevedo as a mechanic for many years. He in an ASC Certified Master Mechanic and an ASE L1 Advanced Level Specialist. The shop is now ADC Reapair, but Mr. Acevedo previously had his shop at the other end of the same shops on 21st street behind the soccer field as Diagnostic Specialists. Diagnostic Specialists also was open before that at the Exxon Express at the corner of Nolana and 10th Street in McAllen. Mr. Acevedo seems to keep the same talented mechanics working with him and that is important. He is the most honest, thorough, professional mechanic I have ever dealt with and I have been going to him for years. I recently took my 1994 5-speed Cherokee in for a bumper to bumper inspection - the car had not been serviced in awhile as I was waiting for ADC to open. Mr. Acevedo did everything from install new driving lights which I requested, installed a new clutch, checked and replaced all wires, tubing, seals, and everything else the car needed so the Cherokee is now running like new. Mr. Acevedo will tell you what is going on with your auto and give you options, for example, he told me I could have waited a while longer with the clutch, but it was wearing out, however since I was having the engine taken out I had the option to replace it now and save some labor costs later on - the decision was mine. He never tries to get you to replace or buy anything you do not need, however, I think it is a mark of his professionalism that he points out what problems you have now and what is wearing on your vehicle so that you can make informed decisions on what and when to do reapairing. I have never, ever had to take a vehicle back - when it is fixed - it is fixed. I also think Mr.Acevedo is very reasonably priced and no one should be put off by the amount of money I spent on my last visit as my car was in desperate need of repair and had dozens of procedures done and parts replaced. I would recommend ADC to anyone and always do - this is the best mechanic knowledge paired with the polite, professional attention anyone would want. DO NOT be put off by the special credentials or the amount I spent on my vehicle - Mr. Acevedo is very reasonably priced, gives prompt service and treats all customers with respect and courtesy. One of the most important aspects of this service is that it can be TRUSTED. Up until 2 years ago I worked for the federal government and drove approximately 500 miles a week - in rural, isolated areas - and needed to depend on my vehicle. I always knew if it was repaired by Mr. Acevedo I would be safe on the road.
