Sean was very responsive. Called me back immediately when I requested a quote online. He took my measurements and gave me an estimate for both granite and Cambria Quartz Brittannica. In the end we decided to spend a little more and get the countertops we've always dreamed of. When the cabinets were in place, I called him back and they came out immediately to measure and give me the price. It was a little less than the original estimate ... which was a nice surprise! I asked if I could pick out the quartz slab, since Brittannica has a pattern in it. He called his Houston warehouse and made arrangements. (BTW, other installers I talked with told me that Quartz was Quartz and they had no way of allowing me to pick a slab.) I chose the slabs and asked Sean to make sure they were cut a certain direction so I could get the most out of the pattern. He listened and made sure that this was done. When it came time to install, they did a fantastic job ... the slide in stove looked perfect - the counter went just under the lip on all sides. They leveled my 1/2 wall, cut pieces exactly to fit, made the seams impossible to see and installed in an afternoon. I could not be more pleased with the entire process!

Description of Work: I nearly lost the piece of granite I had requested because the company failed to follow through with the sale. After calling the company, the salesman did call to reserve the granite, but never showed up to pick it up. All the while, the salesman kept giving me dates for installation, then calling to change again. I requested a refund and received it. |

[Member name removed], We do apologize for this!! We were extremely busy and overloaded. We could not complete in a timely manner. Therefore, we offered a refund which we did immediately. We do not like to turn away business. At that point we had reached our limit and had to retreat to this. Hardest part about business is saying no.

I contacted this company because they were cheap. They are cheap for a reason. They came out to measure a total of three times and still needed more measurements. Every time they came out they needed something else done before they could actually template. The salesman was rude and appeared to be put out. When I went to the yard, they showed me the slab that I would be getting then stated they didn't know if it was the one I was getting. I mean, really? This company could not make up their mind. They constantly wasted my time with setting up measurements and sending different people for them who said different things every time. Not to mention the sales guy, Shawn, called my wife a liar in the process. The final straw was when they didn't show for an appointment, didn't answer four phone calls and text messages, and then called hours later to say their was an emergency that the twentieth measurement guy had and he couldn't be there. I told him he could come by later and he stated his truck was broke down. The salesman then ignored my request to return my product. Bottom line, they are cheap if you can deal with the non-stop incompetency of the "company". Look elsewhere.
Description of Work: They didn't do anything other than waste my time with constant measurements.

Response from Synergy Granite LLC
That's an interesting side of it. If a customer is rude, in many ways this is it. I will have to call it on this one. There are two sides to a story. We have never screwed anyone over, nor will we ever. Humble beginnings- We started out of a driveway with no money, just a dream. This is a case of a customer not getting their way. Here is our side: I guess Sean now has to show a proof of receipt that his truck was towed to Ford that day. Sean's fault for buying a Ford I guess? Sean informed him he could not make the appointment due to broken down truck. Who has had a great day after your vehicle breaks down? No one. At this point, Sean could care less about work due to being stranded. If you want the job done right you need a proper template. You also need something to template first, so we can cut. We have a process and the client did not have any respect for it. We showed you the pieces we had available. Sean mentioned you were coming and instead of racing across town, I told him I would take care of. At that particular time the full slab that matched the best was on hold. I told you that we would let you know if it was available soon. This particular slab would allow you to extend your bar top the way you wanted. If it was not available. You were okay with the first remnant selected in our yard. Our first attempt for template- Project was not ready for us. They wanted the high bar to be cut down. Which was going to be done by the customer. This would allow the customer to extend the counter top and open up the area. We told you that we could not template due to the wall not being torn down. (This was his idea of incompetence) So are we suppose to guess where to cut and how far out to cut? We get a call saying our "template guy doesn't know what he is doing." Requesting to send someone else. (He was rude and condescending) We setup another time to get out to make a template. We get the template done. But it was not fully torn down the way we needed. (here is where going "cheap" doesn't pay off) If we would have been contracted out to do the whole job, it would have been done correctly. So now at this point we have had 3 appointments at the location. 1- The estimate, 2- The template (not ready) 3- The template again needs to be rescheduled due to not being fully demo-ed for our template. We have one appointment set for the final template after 3 times at the house. Now we can't make it due to scheduling conflicts with others and Sean being stranded. Prior to this. We were on time and ready to get this done. Trying to work with the client to get the job done on budget. We can't get one mulligan? After we ask for a reschedule. It was unacceptable in his eyes and he wanted to cancel the business transaction. Via "text" (let me remind you guys. No deposit of any kind had been given at this point.) Sean informs me of the situation. After our numerous attempts and efforts to help the guy all we hear from his end. We don't know what we are doing. At this particular point. We agreed to let it go. He then replies by text and ask when can we be there. So we informed him of our decision that we believe it's better to part our ways. He quickly informs and threatens us. That he is a police officer and that we are in breach of contract (no contract nor deposit) and that if we don't return his sample. (That he willingly gave us for reference of color selection) He can and will press charges for theft All of this is within 5 mins from him requesting to cancel the business transaction to now it is going to be reported as theft. (Communication via text) I instructed Sean to stop responding to him. We returned the piece by 4:00 pm same day (give or take.) I had my guys take a photo of the drop off if no one was home. (Proof of shipment) So glad we made the decision to not go through with this particular transaction. We have a process and he didn't understand it. He wanted to save some money and tear down the bar himself which wasn't done correctly. We turned others away from that slab. Purchased more material for clients all because we knew that slab matched the best for his project. I could have had it sold 3 times. We held it for a month without a deposit of any kind. I'm sure none of this was thought of or appreciated. We are not cheap. We just don't take advantage of customers. If the price is 200.00, it's 200.00 We have worked on a 5 story exterior building. Department Stores, Bars, Over 7 apartment complexes in the area and still going, 4 Hotels, 1000's of homes in Austin, TX. These projects ranging from a 35.00 cutting board to $120,000.00 - $650,000.00 projects. With over 15 employees. Again, Starting out of a driveway into a thriving multi-million dollar business. (Little pat on my back) So if you call us a company with incompetency.... Then we are one successful incompetent company! Treat others how you want to be treated. We flat out felt disrespected during the whole process. One thing about me, if it's the truth I will admit truth. Not in this particular case. No one is perfect and neither is this world we live in. We love you Austin,TX!

Met with Sid for initial consultation. He gave me excellent advise on which slab yards to go visit to select my granite. He always arrived on time as scheduled, and was available to answer any of my questions along the way. They allowed us to choose a remnant from their warehouse for the guest bathroom in order to keep the cost down. The workers arrived on time, were very conscious of our possessions, and did an excellent job. I changed my mind on the width of the breakfast bar on the day of installation - they returned the slabs to their warehouse - cut down to the new width and brought back for installation the next day without batting an eye. Everyone associated with this company was professional and polite - from Sid, to the installers, the plumber, and their excellent tile man! The work is gorgeous, the price was excellent, and I am extremely pleased! Will definitely be using them again in the future for any granite or tile work.

All around great and reasonably priced. Our salesman Robert is very likable and informative. The installers were punctual, professional and very nice as well. Their price was very reasonable. I have only one wee complaint they are not always easy to contact by phone and could return calls and texts in a more timely manner (sometimes). I plan on putting granite in 2 bathrooms and I will use Synergy. | |

We called a friend of ours, who is one of the best builders in Austin, to get a recommendation for counter top installation. He was out of town, but his office gave us the name of a contractor to ask, who recommended Synergy. Rob was friendly, prompt and attentive when he came out to measure. The trouble started with installation. The first time counters were delivered, there were three different types of corners: rounded, squared and softened but, even more importantly, they were the wrong depth. Rob was always adamant that they would do what it took to get them right. On second installation, the counter tops had circular marks from sander and obvious pitting with a few at least a cm in size, among other obvious imperfections. I do not know how these things could have escaped attention and went unfilled. You would think that they would have bright lights for quality control. It took four to five times to get the countertops right enough with consistent measurements, edges, corners and good enough finishes. It was a near crazy making experience. I documented all with photographs lest someone think I'm too picky. The good news was that they were willing to do whatever it took to get it right. It was just difficult to understand why that was so challenging. Had they been installing granite or something other than marble, maybe our experience would have been different.

Service from Synergy Granite was excellent in all aspects from the time we contacted them to the time someone came in to correct a problem with a mirror which was loosened during installation of the granite in one bathroom. Sid Montez gave us a very accurate estimate and helped us through the whole process. Price was very good, especially when compared against one of the big box stores. Installation crew was very good -- excellent workmanship and good job of cleaning up after the installation. In summary, I would not hesitate to use Synergy Granite again and would recommend them to anyone looking for granite work to be done in their home.

I shopped 4 different companies before settling with Synergy. They spent the most time, gave the best explanation and didn't make the process feel rushed. We switched colors and the rooms we wanted completed several times. They were very patient and pleasant through the whole process. We even met them at the granite yard to personally choose our countertops. Installations was a breeze, it only took one day and it was done perfectly. They would be my first call in the future, and coming from someone who has a lot of questions, and is very thorough, I couldn't have picked a better company.

Overall it went great. I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Removal & disposal of old countertops. Install granite. Removal & disposal of backsplash. Install backsplash. I have a large kitchen 80sq feet of countertop and 40sq feet of backsplash. They removed the old and installed the new in one day. The seams were very close and they matched them as best they could. The backsplash tile was installed the next day and grouted the day after that. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't ask for the remainder of the the money until I was happy with the job.

Quick and convenient.
Description of Work: Though leary of companies advertising in mailed magazines, the price was too good to pass up. I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) by the responsive service given by Robert and his crew. The price stayed the same as advertised (better than big box stores & Costco); extras were provided (upgraded edging/ a new sink rather than a bathroom countertop) and the granite was installed quickly and on time. On small item needed to be finished and this was done promptly on a return visit. The countertops provide an instant and beautiful upgrade to the kitchen.
