A pipe in our garage ceiling burst when when we turned the water back on after the freeze. Water was pouring out of our garage. Our entire house was without water for about a week and a half, until I was able to get in touch with ProTech Plumbing. The owner of the company came out immediately and re-piped the damaged area.

Responding to our emergency leak was fine. Responding to our request for additional service--NOT GOOD. Conclusion...they don't need or want our business.
Description of Work: Pro-Tech plumbing (Bob, the plumber) fixed a small leak in a horizontal pipe over our utility room light fixture. He came the same day we called, even though he said he could not come until the following day. Hurray--this part was good. They rated an "A+"—but there's more. Prior to our emergency leak we also requested a bid to replace all of the horizontal pipe in our attic. There was no charge for this visit. Daniel came the same day that we called and give us a price. BUT their responsiveness to us after we tried to schedule the work for them to replace the pipes ranks an "F-" We have tried to contact them multiple times (I lost count). When we called we usually reached Bob or Daniel, both of whom said they would have the owner Stephen Sykes call us. My conclusion is that they either underbid the job ($1,500.00) and decided they didn't want to do it or are too busy with bigger jobs and we are too little of a job to bother with. I would have been fine with that if they just said so. Instead, the owner, Stephen Sykes, who has to approve the bid, has never called us back. At the very beginning of our calls, I believe that I did talk to Stephen Sykes who did not seem all that interested in our job nor in pulling together requested references for us to call--he said it would take him quite a bit of time. We gave up and will call another plumber. For the circumstances after that job regarding replacing our horizontal pipes, they have earned an F. I would suggest that you be careful if you contract for work that might involve incidental repairs afterwards (like busted sheetrock, additional leaks, etc.)—you might not get the response you are expecting.

It went very well for us. I feel like they did an awesome job and I learned a lot from them. I admire their patience in explaining what needed to be done and what they were doing, as well as what I can do as the owner to maintain the piping in my house, so that it will last a long time. I recommend them to all my friends. I wish I could remember the name of the plumber that did the repipe of the whole attic, but he was very good at maneuvering in the tiny attic. It was a long day for all of us, but a pleasant one.
Description of Work: We originally called them out to repair a leak in the pipe above the garage, which Stephen diagnosed and repaired. They replaced the galvanized pipe with cpvc. About 24-48 hours later a leak had sprung in a pipe over my kitchen, which had managed to seep in between two drywall sheets, where they are taped together. I called them out for an emergency repair. I don't remember his name, but he was very slim and very good at crawling around in attics. He patched the leak and while he did that he further inspected my galvanized piping and informed me that I would need to get it all replaced. The galvanized pipe had been patched and repatched over and over as well as having dresser couplings, which he said shouldn't be used indoors. Rather than keep calling them out for every leak, I agreed to let them come out and replace all the horizontal piping. They replaced all the horizontal piping without having to remove any of the ceiling in the house, which is amazing, because my attic is a small crawlspace. There were a couple of panels of drywall cut out in the garage by the water heater and washer/dryer area. The pipe was cpvc with brass fittings to connect with the drop downs. They gave plenty of time for the glue to dry before turning on my water and flushing out all the air in my lines. The pipes were also wrapped with insulation. They even came back out the next day to check my central air in the attic, because it had stopped working after they finished. A switch on it had been turned off and they turned it back on and made sure the wires weren't knocked loose as there is very little space up there to work.
