Description of Work: Replaced two (2) window panes that were damaged by condensation within the dual panes.

Description of Work: Mansfield Glass replaced the double-pane glass in two upstairs bathroom windows that had broken seals and condensation. They provided the lowest price among three bidders. I didn't waste my time with Glass Doctor since they wanted $50 just to come out. Tempered glass was ordered and ready for installation in about two weeks. The work was done in a professional manner and the staff members at Mansfield Glass are both friendly and responsive.

Description of Work: I used this company in November of 2011 and Jimmy was excellent. He was a little high, but the overall experience was good. He did the work and I paid him with a check. The job was over 2,000.00. No problem. On April 12 of this year, I called because one of my windows had broken, not sure how if it was stress or from a weedeater, but the person (rude) who answered the phone said she couldn't look my records up without a number on the former invoice....I went and found it, gave her the dimensions and assumed she placed my order for the glass. She called back later, spoke with my husband and said they would not cut the glass without payment in full for the glass. Seriously? It was a "whopping amount" of 166.00. I told my husband that they took a check previously, she said they changed their policy. He said, if we have to pay upfront, we will just use someone else....her response was......"OK". Amazing. A friend of mine used them previously and she said that she had had problems with the person answering the phone before and I should contact him. I'm just using someone else. Thing is, I had two huge windows I was going to get him to look at replacing. Probably a 1,000.00 job on top of replacement. I READ AN ARTICLE RECENTLY WHICH SAID..."WHEN A REMODELER OR HOME SERVICE ASKS FOR PAYMENT UPFRONT, BEWARE AND DON'T USE THEM"...so I make it a policy to not pay anyone a total amount upfront BEFORE they ever perform the service.

Description of Work: I've never had the glass in a window replaced before, so much of it is new to me. They came out and then called back to give me an estimate of about $235.00. I okayed that and paid half the balance. About 4-5 days later, they came out and installed the replacement glass/window, and did a good job. I had some windows scratched on my storm door and got a price for replacing just that part of the door and they quoted me a very reasonable price ($24-$26) for that part and about $100 more if they brought it back and installed it instead of me just picking it up at their place and bringing it home, doing it myself (it's just a slip-in the frame-type window). I was good with that and now the replaced window is at their store in Mansfield, I'm having it picked up and called and paid for it over the phone, but the actual cost was $41.08 instead of the quoted amount and I have to think the guy just quoted for the pane itself and not them installing it, too. I plan on using them again. Young woman named "Sam" answers the phone and she is pleasant and eager to please, a million dollar personality.

Description of Work: I came home on the evening of 11-3-10 to find that one of my bedroom windows was broken out and my home had been burglarized. I found Mansfield Glass on Angie's List and they were close to where I lived in SW Arlington. I called at 8:00 am the following morning and by 10:30 am Jimmy Jones was at my house. He told me that they could get the window replaced the following day and as I live by myself, that was important to me. Mike arrived at 3:45 pm the following day and did a GREAT job replacing my window. (He has been in the window repair business for 27 years!) Mike was very neat and he cleaned up everything. He even hauled away the broken glass I had picked up. They charged me $180 for the replacement and repair and that is more than reasonable. If you need something glass related replaced, then you cannot go wrong using Mansfield Glass. It is a first-rate company!
