Air Smart Systems

Description of Work: You cannot go wrong with Air Smart Systems! Before I tell my story, you must know the AC system in our house has had a slow leak for many years. We had to fill it with freon about once a year and then twice a year. We knew it was only a matter of time before we had to look at replacing the entire system. So last Thanksgiving, our AC unit blew its last puff of cold air. On a Friday night, after five o'clock, we met Luis, the owner. The week prior, my hubby had installed a Nest and he thought maybe he had installed it incorrectly thus causing the unit to blow hot air. Luis came out to check the Nest and found it had been installed properly so he looked at the unit itself. Luis hooked up his diagnostic equipment and found that our long time leak had finely become so bad it had leaked all of the freon from the system. He pronounced the system that night and we knew we could no longer put off replacing the system. The entire time Luis was working, he was talking to us about his findings and educating us on our options. He was was the ultimate professional and we thought he really enjoyed his job based on his performance. Luis seemed very knowledgable and was able to answer all of our questions. He even stayed late to give us a quote on a new system with three options to consider. After looking at the quote and talking over what Luis had to say, my husband and I made plans to save money to pay for a new system outright. It took four months for us to save the money. While I was working overtime, my hubby thought it would be a good idea to at least talk to some other AC companies in the area. We talked only to businesses listed on Angie's List. We took five more bids and liked most of those we talked to. In the end, we had Luis come out and rebid. To say the least, we wasted our time and the time of the other AC people because we ended up going with Luis anyway. What sealed the deal for us was the way Luis treated us from that very first night we met him. When he came out to take measurements and make another quote, he asked questions about problems we encountered with the old unit. The biggest thing we noticed was how the kid's side of the house was always cooler than our side. Luis said he had a remedy for the problem and that was adding one more small air return in our bedroom. The other companies wanted to put in more air ducts to cool our room down; so when I asked Luis why the air return was the better option he actually pulled out a paper and drew me pictures to explain why more air ducts would not be better. Again, Luis was the ultimate professional and took his time to answer our questions. His second bid was a little more expensive than his original bid only because we added in the cost of the air return. So the week before the install, Luis touched base with us to make sure everything was still a go for the install. Luis told me he and his team would be at our house between 8:30 and 9:00 am. His team was right on time the day of installation. Antonio, Luis,and Luis assisted Luis with the install. They moved our Nest to another hallway free of charge and even offered to vacuum up the mess they made in the house. The job was supposed to take about eight hours but it actually only took four hours. After they were done, Luis took pictures in the attic so he could show me what everything looked like. Luis gave me all of the care instructions and even upgraded our filter. The entire price of the system is exactly what we we quoted. There were no surprises and the team kept me informed of their progress through out the entire installation. We had been using another AC company to refill our original unit but Luis has definitely stolen us from that company. We will be purchasing the maintenance plan Luis offers and we will continue to use Air Smart Systems for all of our AC needs.
