Foundation Repair, Concrete Leveling, General Remodeling,

About us

* Ask about our Angie's List discount! * Superior Foundation Repair is a Foundation Repair and House Leveling company serving Austin, San Antonio, and Central Texas. Superior provides free estimates to homeowners on all Foundation Repair work. Our Lifetime Warranty is simple - if your home moves in the area of our piers, we'll take care of it at no charge. There are no confusing clauses, no hassles, and no reason to worry about your home. Our Warranty can be transferred to any subsequent owner. We are a Family owned and operated Foundation Repair Company, and have been operating in Central Texas since 2002. The method we use, Steel Piers Anchored to Bedrock, is a family tradition which has been perfected over 3 generations in Texas. Because of this, Customer Service, Superior Workmanship, and Superior Quality are our top priorities. All of our foremen and workers work for us exclusively, are experienced in the installation of steel piers, and understand the importance of cleanliness and efficiency to our valued customers. Expansive Soil is the main cause of Foundation Problems here in Central Texas. Our self manufactured, rigorously inspected, Superior Quality Steel Piers effectively negate the effects of expansive soil by securing your foundation to bedrock. We understand the Central Texas soils and how their shrink-swell characteristics affect Home Foundations. (see our website for more information on expansive soil) On our website we provide detailed information on how to counteract the effects of soils in the Central Texas area, how our Steel Pier Method works, and a plethora of other information about home foundations and foundation repair. We also participate in continuing education to improve our knowledge, routinely update our equipment to the latest standards, and continue to improve upon our product. By using steel piers anchored to bedrock, and specializing in this method, we offer a solution to foundation problems that we truly believe in.

Hi [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry we've been unable to connect. We're in the process of switching over our website, and phone numbers to better serve our customers. Our new website is live now at [Hyperlink Removed]. It seems that in the process of switching over we might've missed a submission you made to be contacted for a free home inspection. Description of Work: First of all, of all the foundation companies that I contacted, they were the first to get back to me, and offer free estimates. Scott came by and was very professional and also just nice. I live in an area with older homes that is notorious for foundation problems. Scott evaluated the home and while he said the home was "odd" in its elevations (it had had some foundation work done in the 90s which is probably the reason for the unusual elevations), that at this time he did not recommend any repair. He said he'd keep the elevations on file and if I notice any changes in the next year or so or after plumbing repair he'd come by and reevaluate the changes for me. Because of his professionalism and honesty (I was prepared for the worst), if I am ever to need a reevaluation I'll definitely be going back to superior.

Superior was the only company that said we needed foundation repair. The other two said we had no problem, just normal settling. Measurements of our foundation were taken by another company and showed that the foundation was well within the normal range (below 2" out of level). Our foundation was only 5/8" out of level. This is not just one company's opinion against another company but is based on scientific measurement. This points out the importance of having several companies look at your foundation. UPDATE: The company's response differs from the proposal presented. The company states that only minor repair to one side of the house was recommended. However, piers were recommended all the way around the house (all 4 sides), a total of 23 piers, for a bid total of $7,200, not exactly "small repair". And articles about foundation repair do not differentiate slab out-of-level measurements according to whether the slab is brand new, 1 yr old, 2 years old, 5 yrs old, or whatever. Based on the inaccuracy of the company's response, the rating is being adjusted to an F rather than a D.
Description of Work: Superior was 1 of 3 foundation repair companies we had evaluate our house to see if we needed to have our foundation repaired.

Response from Superior Foundation Repair
While measuring the deflection of a slab is one of the many processes involved in evaluating a foundation, basing a decision on deviation alone is potentially harmful. Should anyone wish to read more about this dilemma and learn how Superior Foundation Repair evaluates foundations, please please visit our blog (located on our web site), and read the article titled - "A Foundation Which Appears Level may need Repair"

We had cracked tile in a bathroom shower stall. It was recommended to me by a tile person (another great person I found on Angie's List) that I should have the pier and beam foundation checked before I did any shower repairs. I contacted Superior Foundation Repair and Jeremiah Morrow came out promptly and inspected the inside, using an instrument that reads the floor elevation levels. The shower stall was 3/4" lower than the other readings. He removed his boots before entering the house, which I thought was the first great sign. He then crawled under the house and told me what problems he saw and what he would do to repair them. There was also root damage from an oak tree that uplifted part of the sidewalk that, in turn, damaged the underpinning of the house. He and his crew busted up that section of sidewalk and replaced it with rock and stepping stones. Jeremiah called me from the "stone store" and discussed with me the color options available. I was extremely happy with his choice. The job took one week from start to finish. They cleaned up daily after themselves, were extremely nice and courteous, and always punctual. It was my pleasure working with Jeremiah and his crew. They do have a coupon on Angie's List, but was told it is only honored for Slab Repairs, not Pier and Beam repairs.
Description of Work: Two rotted 2x12x16 floor joists were replaced with two new ones. A new pier and beam was added. The pier was placed in a 2'x2' hole filled in with concrete and a steel post that they attached to the new beam. A 3'x8' section of sidewalk was removed; loose stone and 3 stepping stones were put down in it's place. Several feet of cracked underpinning was re-textured.

We were getting ready to sell our house and decided that the foundation needed to be repaired before we put it on the market. Over the past few years, the clay soil that our house sits on has contracted significantly, causing the foundation to crack and the back half of the house to sink. The week prior, I had received a coupon in my ValPak mailer for Superior Foundation Repair. Brady, the owner of the company, came out to evaluate the problem and propose the steel pier solution. The proposal/contract Brady gave me was simple (1-page) and easy to understand. Being an engineer and a firm believer in "check and then re-check", I also had two other companies come out to give estimates. One company proposed drilled bell concrete piers, while the other company proposed simple pressed pilings to reinforce the foundation. From an engineering standpoint, these methods are suspect since they both use the soil to support the concrete piers (the contracting soil is the reason the foundation was cracking in the first place). The contracts for these other two companies were also long and filled with fine print -- a sure indicator that the warranty provided would contain loopholes. After fully comparing the three repair methods and companies, I chose Superior Foundation Repair based on the structurally sound steel pier repair method and the no-nonsense lifetime transferable warranty. The actual repair work was performed in a timely manner and Brady was kind enough to have his crews stop working at 1pm each day so that my kids could nap undisturbed. From start to finish, my experience with Superior Foundation Repair was enjoyable and cost-effective. Now we can sell our house with a clear conscience in knowing that the foundation will never be a problem for the new owners. Thanks Superior! Carolyn & Chris
Description of Work: Added 20 steel piers to support sinking foundation. The steel piers were driven down 60 feet to the bedrock. My foundation is now supported by bedrock and will never move again!

Very well from start to finish. Started work on time (early) each morning and cleaned up well after day's work. The cement and parget were allowed to dry completely at each step of the work. Payment was accepted only when I was completely satisfied with the job and the cleanup that had been done. I was very pleased with this company and recommend it without reservation.
Description of Work: House is 30 years old. Much of the parget covering the outside of the slab had cracked or already fallen off. The team removed remaining and cleared away all the debris, made some minor repairs to the corners and other spots on the slab sides, and then reapplied parget to the entire exterior surface of the slab.

I had some tile cracking in my kitchen. And, recently, kitchen cabinets were either staying open or not closing completely. I called Superior on Thursday and they were out Friday morning at 8:30 as scheduled. Jeremiah was very thorough and put on some of those shoe covers so that our carpet wouldn't get dirty. After inspecting our home he told me that the foundation was, actually, in really good shape. He explained that almost all foundations will have some level of cracking over time and that cracking tile not uncommon.
Description of Work: Jerimiah Morrow came out to determine if I had any issues with my foundation. He walked the inside and the outside of the house and also ran elevation measurements in each of the rooms in house

They were very timely, professional and responsive to any questions that we had. They recommended that we have the foundation repair done, but we found out later, through a different company, that it wasn't in need of repair at all. We were just fortunate that we didn't have the work done. It was a complicated situation and it came down to a difference of opinion. I can not say if I would or would not use them again in the future.

Response from Superior Foundation Repair
Thank you for your honest review of Superior Foundation Repair, and for pointing out the complexity of the job. As you stated, it really does come down to a difference of opinion. We often have jobs where we do not recommend foundation repair, when other companies do. We appreciate you giving us a call, and if you determine you need repair in the future, please contact us again.

A remarkable job - really impressive to watch. Job turned out to be a bit more extensive than originally thought, but company stayed with their original bid and did excellent work. They were quick, and left the worksite clean and in order - which is amazing considering what this job looks like when underway. We feel like they really know what they are doing and do the job right. This is critical, especially if you have ever seen a job which has not been done properly.

I was told by my friend that our house has a foundation problem. I called Jeremiah to give a free estimate and set up the time to inspect the house. He called me ahead to cancel the appointment because of raining and reschedule the time. He came to our house on time and inspect the house. He explained that our house does not have a foundation problem. He is very professional and honest.
