They called as my appointment was set for 11/15/2014. He called and said his truck got stolen and would come back the following Tuesday. He never called back or came.

I used the tune up service a couple of opportunities before and last time the technician that they sent last, called me to schedule an appointment for my upcoming maintenance, I called the company and it turned out that the technician that they sent was unlicensed!!!! I gave Mr Lawrence (the owner) SEVERAL opportunities to come to my house and check that nothing wrong was done in my system and basically to regain the trust in the company! Mr Lawrence cared less about that and never came and has not attempted to contact me, very disappointed I won't use them ever again.

I think you need to re-check your facts. The ONLY person that is licensed in an HVAC company is generally the OWNER and NOT the TECHNICIAN. The Technician that went out to your home is CERTIFIED as a NATE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, one of the highest certifications in HVAC. I informed you that HE IS UNLICENSED AND UNINSURED AS A COMPANY when he was terminated for unrelated matters, and proceeded to call (YOU) previous customers to solicit them for work. When you called me I told you this for YOUR PROTECTION, as he was no longer a part of my company. Furthermore, I told you that I would have been happy to recheck the inspection as a courtesy when I was in the area, although there was no need to do so, and YOU EVEN VERIFIED that the furnace was working fine. I did place a couple of phone calls to you when I was in the area, but I never heard back from you. Although I can appreciate your concerns, they go unsubstantiated. There is no basis for such a rating. I think you need to contact TDLR to verify your accusations. I work diligently with TDLR to keep unlicensed and uninsured individuals from preying on the general public, and I do not appreciate your false allegations toward my company.

The technician, Mr. Lareau, was an extremely knowledgeable gentleman and seemed to know and understand his craft very well. He gave me some good advice and tried to explain much of what he was doing. I'm very satisfied with his service.

Description of Work: They laughed at me when they went outside and said that I was trying to "hit" on them. Two young immature boys who really could have cared less about their job. They said they added Freon. When I tried to ask questions, they just said we really don't know but it seems to be cooling off inside the house.

Communication could have been better, they could have showed up.
Description of Work: Called and scheduled first appointment they didn't show up, they didn't show up a second time, called the third time and he gave me reasoning for previous missed appointments, waited for the third appointment they still failed to show up and let me know there was an issue.

Everything went very well. I was very surprised at how affordable my new unit was. Very honest and very passionate about what they do. Service guy showed up just as the owner Laurence stated. I loved the service, I'm happy with my new unit and I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know.

I called Katy West Houston Air when my A/C quit cooling. A friend of mine referred me to them, because that was who he used and he seemed happy with them. When the technician came out, I thought he looked familiar. We started talking and then I realized he was the same guy that fixed my parents A/C system a few years ago. My parents were happy with the work he did for them and their unit has had no further problems since they had their's fixed. I was pretty bummed out when I found out that my compressor had failed. The outside unit was filthy. I figured I was going to have to buy a new A/C. The technician told me that although the unit was several years old that the compressor was probably still under warranty. He made a phone call, and sure enough it was under warranty. Another guy picked up and brought the compressor and installed it. They also changed the capacitor and some relay they say may have contributed to the failure. After the compressor was installed the technician came back, cleaned the unit outside and topped off the freon. He checked everything in my attic and said we should be good to go. After talking to a couple of people at work, they said that sounded like a deal. Ironicly enough I found a renewal notice in my e-mail. I renewed just in case I have any other problems and looked the company up. I read the other review, and I can honestly say I have never had that experience with this company. They were fair and honest with my parents and very honest and fair with me. I can admit that I did not remember the name of the company at first, but I am glad I was put back in contact with them. The technician gave me a sticker this time inside my breaker box by the unit so I have their phone number if I need it.

Our 3-ton, 4-1/2 year old home air conditioner began letting the house temperature rise several degrees above setpoint. On May 7, 2011 we called Katy-West Houston; they sent a technician who added R22 refrigerant and charged us $250 (he did not use a scales but charged us $40/pound for his estimated amount). After a couple of weeks the A/C started falling behind again, and we called. On May 27 a different technician came, said we had a bad leak and it was illegal to put in more R22, and he would order a replacement evaporator coil on warranty. We did not want to destroy the compressor, so we were without air conditioning in a record-breaking Houston heat wave until June! On the morning of June 1, he called and asked "are you willing to pay $1200?"--of course I said yes (after 5 days without A/C). They sent a man to install the coil, and while he was installing it he mentioned that it was his first day with the company. I asked him if he was going to replace the refrigerant filter (something that should be done when totally emptying and opening the system), and he then had the second technician deliver one. The next day, the A/C began falling behind on temperature again--the second technician came out, and found that the coil installer didn't properly tighten the refrigerant tubing, so we had lost much of it again. He did not come back to refill the system with refrigerant until June 6, and when he came he did not tell anyone in the home that he was here and did it. While he was here on an earlier visit, he brought his teenage son (not an employee), who came into our home with him and placed his open sweaty hand on our highly textured soft-white non-gloss interior wall. When I called them as the days went by, they said that they were too busy dealing with other "emergency calls". What about our emergency? We are in our mid-sixties, and too much heat and humidity are dangerous for us. I will never call them for service again.

Any complaints called in are directed to me, the owner.This customer never called into the company to complain about such services, which is a standard procedure whenever there is a problem with any company, regardless of who they are.. Any company can have a technician or installer at a home that makes a mistake, as humans, we are not perfect. If Mr. Lyons had contacted me I would have certainly made an adjustment to his account. When I find out about a bad review three years later, by randomly looking at our reviews, then the complaint was directed to the wrong party. Three years later, I still fully intend to contact [member name removed] in an effort to straighten this out. It's not a matter of the mistakes a company makes, it's what the company does about it to straighten things out.

The air conditioner was not cooling at my parents house. They had another A/C guy look at it and they were told they needed a new unit. They called me and asked me if I knew anyone in the A/C business since they needed a new unit. A friend refered me to Katy-West Houston Air. When the technician came out, within minutes he told me the compressor was fine, that appearently a power surge had shorted the capacitor. He replaced the capacitor and the unit started right up. Once he got the unit running, he shut it off, took a hose and rinsed the dirt from the A/C unit. He put guages on it and checked the freon. He went into the attic and checked the drains and ducts. He seemed to check everything pretty accurately and was done within about an hour. I think the technician was very honest and went well out of his way to help. We were very satisfied and will use them again.
Description of Work: The run capacitors for the A/C unit were replaced. The dirt was washed from the unit and the freon checked. The A/C filter was replaced and upstairs section checked.
