This was a warranty call through American Home Shield. I have filed complaints with them, hoping to have them removed as a vendor. According to many other reviews, what I experienced is par for the course. Lie #1 - The tech told me that my unit required a 2-stage motor, which was not in stock and I would have to wait over the weekend. They show up Monday with said motor, which does not fit in my unit. Now they have to special order a motor, supposed to be 2 weeks for delivery, but they're doing me a favor and have requested second day. Three days later, it shows up and I'm scheduled for another Friday service appointment. They show up and immediately ask me if I've seen a bolt. Really? You mean you lost a bolt when you took my unit apart and left it that way, along with your trash, wires and your wrench?! They then go to a hardware store to replace the bolt they lost, then put the fan motor in. Sorry, but apparently there's another big problem - a 'major' restriction in the evaporator coil. A whole bunch of stuff will have to be replaced that is not covered by my warranty, of course. Part of this is the R-22 freon. I even questioned him on this, knowing that it is supposed to be reclaimed and reused in my unit. Best case scenario - $2095 out of my pocket. Worst case - whole new unit $5,468. As soon as they walked out, I called AHS to request a pay out so I can use my preferred vendor - not this crook. I call up a friend, he showed up with gauges and wine. He sees that the tech has the electrical disconnect off. He puts his gauges on the unit and everything is reading normally. He turns everything back on, we drink the wine and keep checking gauges and temperature inside the house. This was 13 days ago and my AC is working like a champ, without two grand in unnecessary repairs. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - THEY ARE CROOKS.

Took over 6 weeks to get them to pay attention to me as a warranty customer. Technician was not professional, smoked at residence while performing his analysis. Did not have a leak detector with him! Unbolted one side of panel and that was it - leaking coil! Did not show me how many pounds of refrigerant they used...simply said 4 pounds based on his years experience. Tank of refrigerant should be weighed and witnessed by home owner before and after filling. Difference is the amount they have put into your unit...and thus should be paying for. Don't let these guys into your house.

Outstanding service, patience and perseverance. They are now our default AC providers. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: AC blower went out, also circuit board in turn. Contractor prompt, technician very conscientious , went out of way to secure part (65 miles away) before weekend to complete work.

We moved in our home 6 months ago. the home is 4 years old. We called our home warranty company when one of the units ceased to properly cool. The technician looked at our units and remarked that they were sh***. I don't know about you, but I don't need to be spoken to like that. Then the technician showed up and went into the attic. He took off two screws of a panel, put his hand in, and said our evaporator coil went out. Then he went to get his gauges out of his vehicle but they didn't work (he tapped it against his hand to try and get it to work). He said the unit needed freon but then realized he was out of it. He also said we needed $526. Of additional work ( our cost after the warranty would pay at least $1200.) he also offered to buy out our home warranty and use that towards the cost of a new Ac unit estimated at 7000.00. We declined. He said he needed to collect the service fee, and was non committal about whether the company would return with freon. Today the boss called and asked why we were not invoiced, and I explained that we did pay the $60.00 service fee. He said they would have come back out and given us freon. I told him not to, that we were getting a second opinion. By the way, our second opinion today said the units were fine but that we have a leak, which he showed us and repaired.

Sevier has been sent to our home twice by American Home Shield Warranty Company because our a/c was not cooling. The first time, the tech diagnosed the problem as low freon, applied a sealant and refilled with freon (which I had to pay for in addition to the service call because AHS pays only a minimal amount for freon). He further said if it still leaked, they would then probably need to replace whatever part of the unit was leaking. Within a couple of weeks, it was not cooling again. Tech returned, saying he had a really good sealant this time and it should work. Again said if this sealant didn't work, they'd need to replace the leaking part (explained that this sealant was new on the market and, I guess, not available two weeks before). He also again filled it with freon. Interestingly, the work order he left with me stated that he had replaced a part on the unit and didn't mention any sealant or freon. Now, a few weeks after the second visit, the unit is again not cooling. Sevier has again been assigned the call, and although I submitted the request on Thursday, they cannot make it out until Monday (temps this weekend forecast in the 90s with heat index near 100). I have complained to AHS but to no avail. I'd also like to say that Sevier states that they will call you 30 minutes before they arrive at the house, but both times the tech has acted quite put out when I said it would take me 20-25 minutes from the time of his call to arrive.

This was the company our landlord's home owner's insurance used, so we had no choice. If you have a choice DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had an incredibly horrible experience. The employees were extremely rude and unprofessional. I needed them to give me a window of time when they would come because I work and couldn't leave the office at a moment's notice. Each time they gave me a window THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. No phone call, nothing.... It got to the point where I would call the office and Beau/Bo (?) would just yell into the phone "Someone else will call you!" I was not rude at all, just obviously annoying to them. They kept telling me how I didn't understand how unpredictable the AC business was. However, they would give me windows of time (prediction) and then NEVER come. SO SO unprofessional and rude. I left work early because they asked me to be available at 3:30 pm on a Friday.... Well, needless to say, 6:00 pm rolled around and I had not heard ANYTHING. Mind you, this was not a "window", it was an appointment to be there at 3:30. No one called to say they were running late... nothing.This company needs a serious overhaul on their scheduling system and EACH AND EVERY ONE of their employees needs a lesson in appropriate and professional customer service. Sometimes, a simply apology goes such a long way. Wish I would have gotten one.
Description of Work: Our AC unit needed the coil replaced because it had a leak. The company came out and did a consultation and then repaired the coil after MUCH frustration/hassel/rudeness.

Beau was not in any condition to be working at the time due to an illness that was not know unit he had multiple strokes while at work. This was the company that our warranty company serviced out to us for our A/C unit. Long story short, we had a very old unit that needed to be replaced but they kept replacing part after part and wasting the warranty company's money and our time (we were left without A/C for 3 weeks during the hottest days of the year!) He didn't do a thorough job the first time which caused a delay in us getting a new unit and wasted parts.The service technician was always late and never had an urgency to resolve the issues with our A/C and complete the work order. After speaking with the warranty company about the poor service we had received, they weren't even aware of what was going on because Sevier climate control did not communicate the appropriate information such as the fact that we needed a new A/C unit from the get go. After much going back and forth, we were able to get a new A/C unit paid by the warranty company. To top it off, had I not known that I only owed them $100 for our co-pay, I would have ended up paying them an additional $600 that they tried to charge me at the end of the installment! If you have the option, DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
Description of Work: Fan replacement, two valve replacements, attempted coolant leak fix, and then finally a new A/C unit installment.

We're certain the guy ripped us off and ripped off the warranty company, so I almost ended up going to court. He charged us for services that he didn't do, then he charged the warranty company for parts that he didn't need. Do not use them. I didn't know about it, but my husband came home, looked at the work, looked at the order and said that he hadn't done any of the things in the order. We had insurance, so he should have charged us the service charge of $55, but he charged us $360or $380 over that saying that we needed to specially order things and so on. I just said OK, handed him my credit card and signed the receipt. Then we had to get the money back from him, and that was bad. We did end up getting it all back. I rate them very poor on price because he cheated us. I absolutely would not use them again in the future. He has another business in the name of Sevier Heating and Cooling, in addition to Sevier Climate Control. He said he had to put a new electrical box in just for the air conditioner, because the box had to be within eight feet of the air conditioner, so he charged us for the box. The air conditioner is right under the old box, and there is no new box on the wall. It was very clear what he had done and what he hadn't done.
Description of Work: We had our air conditioner repaired by Sevier Climate Control. We had a contract with a home warranty company, and they sent him out in July of last year.
