+ -1 moreFather and son team of Jim and Michael did a great job working on a challenging project . Very careful with work areas, furniture,etc. Very upfront about issues encountered during the job. Very good cleanup of work areas. Higly professional in personal conduct during the job. They started working when they said they would and they stopped working when they said they would. Before they opened up areas of sheetrock for inspection, they always asked first. It was nice to see a father and son team work together as well as these two seem to. Their bid was some higher than some Mom and Pop company ( which they are) bids we received and up to 25% lower than the BIG NAME company bids we received. I did not know these guys before this job. Out of frustration, I joined Angie's List to find a reputable plumber in my area that would not bankrupt me. I crossed my fingers, said a prayer and called these guys largly based on their Angie's List record. Unless they get crazy with prices in the future ( which I do not expect), these are my "go to guys" for plumbing needs going forward.
Description of Work: Replaced corroded galvanized water pipes in 3,500 sq.ft home with PEX -like material.

+ -1 more.Jim and his Son Mike completely replaced my aging Galvanized pipe in my house. He brought in a piece of pipe that feeds all the water into the house that was all but rusted through. In about another month that pipe would have failed and I would have had a major flood in an exterior wall which would have gone onto the floor in the house. He replaced all the Galvanized pipe with category 1 Pex pipe and some copper pipe to the bathrooms. Everything about their work was first class. The price was right, the work was done in about 3 1/2 days, and they came back to correct a small leak in the bathroom sink and install new sink fixtures in both bathrooms. My wife and I couldn't be more satisfied with Red Lion's Plumbing work and will use them again if we have any more plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Dos: Everything about Red Lion's Plumbing work was first class. The price was more than fair and the work was done in a timely manner and everything was left cleaned up. Also we needed to have some sheet rock work done to repair some holes that Jim needed to cut in the walls. He brought his associate Bruce and Bruce and his team patched the sheet rock perfectly. Then his crew painted over the repair. It looked so good that we engaged Bruce for another week to paint the whole inside of the house. As of today they are about 2/3's done and everything if being done first class. They sanded all the surfaces, sanded the doors, and put 2 coats of paint on all the walls. The inside of the house never looked so good. Don't: I don't have anything bad to report about Jim and Mike from Red Lion Plumbing or his sheet rock and painting associate Bruce. I am totally satisfied with their work.

+ 0 moreOverall it went quite well. I had no idea a pipe in the complex was broken so they did not have water to clean out the PVC pipe so I opened up a few water bottles to help clean it out. They were very patient while they waited for the water to turn back on. It took awhile. I think they work hard and were professional at all times.
Description of Work: A PVC pipe was removed and cleaned to unclog the kitchen sink. They also used a rooter to unclog the stoppage.They also discovered the PVC pipe was not aligned straight but was positioned at an angle thus creating the water to backup into the dishwater causing more drainage problems. They took their time in analyzing other plumbing issues. We went upto the attic to check the water heater and discovered that it too needs to be replaced in the next couple of months.

+ 1 moreI am quite pleased with the work although they did explain that repairs might not fix the problem. They made me aware of what the larger scope of the problem is and to be prepared to replace old pipes. The offered their me three ideas on how to fix my main problem which was low water pressure in kitchen with my hot water and elsewhere in the house.
Description of Work: I had water usage at a house that is vacant located in the Kenswick Subdivision in Humble, Texas. I have owned the home since 1987. Mr. Moncrief and Mr. Washington came out to check for leaks. I purchased the coupon for a whole house inpection and they were able to answer a lot of my questions and fix the shoddy plumbing that was done before by my handyman. I am now aware that along with the leaks the houses galvanized pipes are rusting and flaking off and causing clogging in my water supply lines. They were very professional and from prior experience with those I can't name reasonable. I had a well known company perform in 1993 what was suppose to fix all my leaks charge me $1800 at that time. They were on time and explained everything and even talked to the Municipal District Operations guy about their findings , who just happened to show up. They dug up sections up my yard looking for the expected leaks from the main to the house, there were none. They detected three areas that were leaking that was probably causing the water loss. I will be checking the meter regularly to make sure I'm not showing usage at the property until it's rented.

+ 0 moreCalled about 8:15 AM and talked to Jim' s wife about needing a water heater due to old one leaking. She told me the brand heater they used and approximate cost for installation and said she would get in touch with Jim about when he could get there. Jim called back within 30 min. and said he would be there about 9:30 and he arrived on time with the new unit. Heater is in the attic and they put a runner down under the atttic access ladder and the u.s. hallway. The old unit was removed with no muss and no fuss. The new unit was installed and work completed shortly after 11 AM. Very friendly and efficient.
Description of Work: Removed leaking water heater from attic and installed new 40 gal. short unit.

+ 0 moreExcellent work, they did not stop until job was done. One water heater was tucked away in the attic in a very tight position. How they got it out is a mystery. They found a mistake by the builder and fixed it for free. Very professional conduct and kept work area clean.
Description of Work: Called for appointment at 2pm. They came out next day at 9am, put in 2 gas water heaters by 12:00. 2 fellas worked hard and did extra (globe valves) at no extra cost. They were polite and when they were done you could not tell they had been there, it was so clean. Would use them again.

+ -1 moreToilet was leaking from base. Suspected the flange needed to be replaced after my husband pulled the toilet. My husband called Red Lion at 9 a.m. and luckily Jim was in the area and able to meet me at 10 a.m. for an estimate. He was willing to meet me an hour later to perform the work, as I had to pick up my daughter from school. Jim was willing to explain how and why he was replacing the parts, and he performed the work as described. Bathroom was left as clean, if not cleaner, then before work began. After completing the repairs, Jim informed me that he did not need a part that was included in the original quote and adjusted the price to reflect this. So much I appreciated about this company/Jim including their promptness, willingness to accommodate my schedule on short notice, thorough explanation of repairs to be performed, and honesty in pricing. Great job Red Lion- will use and recommend in the future!

Description of Work: on return to my home after evacuation during fire in waller county, i found a large piece of broken water pipefloatingin a flood of water behind my garage leaving me without a washer...the pipes under my kitchen were carroded just like my bathroom had been when i first called red lion plumbing..and the master bath shower dripped all the time no matter what we did.. i called red lion again and they were here the very next day just as scheduled...all my issues were resolved in a timely manner and he even went all the way to the next town to get new faucets i needed for bathroom without charging for time and gas.. .

After finding the shutoff valve we called Red Lion at 7:00PM and they were able to schedule a repair the very next morning at 7:30AM! They arrived with two new water heaters in hand and were able to finish the job very quickly.
Description of Work: They had to replace two water heaters in my attic and were very professional and prompt. Much attention to detail as they were really careful to make sure that no water was leaking during the removal and installation of the new heaters.

+ 0 moreOur hot water heater which is in our attic broke and flooded our attic, the bedroom below that, and the bedroom below that. Although the damage to the bedrooms was manageable, I needed a quick response to replacing the water heater as my wife and I both work and only by luck was I home that day. I called Red Lion after seeing their listing on Angie's List and they were able to pick up a water heater, come to my house and remove the old unit and install the new one in a matter of hours. They were fast, professional, courteous, careful in moving old and new unites in and out of the hourse, and their price was reasonable. They did this on an afternoon when the temperature was over 100 degrees where you could not have paid me to go into my own attic. They are definitely our go to plumbers after this.

+ -1 moreTheir quick response was greatly appreciated since I couldn't run my water without it running out into the street and running up my water bill. Charlotte was very nice and helpful. Jim showed up at my house just a couple of hours after I called. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and when everything was put back into place you couldn't even tell he had dug there. His work was great, and he was very nice to talk with. He also talked with me about some other problems I've been having. I would definitely recommend them (and already have).
Description of Work: Fixed a leak on my house's side of the water meter. Jim dug down to the pipe, removed the cracked piece, and replaced everything back as it should be.

I expected to get my new kitchen faucet installed and an estimate on repairs to the master bath shower. Instead, he was able to do everything in one trip and for substantially less than I expected for the shower repair.

+ -1 moreJim showed up as scheduled. The shutoff vavles for the sinks were forzen and I was afraid my house shutoff vavle was leaking. As it turned out, the shutoff valve worked fine, it just required an unusally long time to bleed down. It took a bit longer to complete expected because of the long bleed down time and having to replace the 4 shutoff valves with no increase in the price. The work was done extremely well and the cleanup was spotless. Jim was very professional and extremely pleasant. He gave me some advice on some other issues that were very helpful.

+ -1 moreThe commode in the 2nd bath suddenly developed a leak at the base. I called several plumbers regarding repair and potential replacement (for mostly cosmetic issues/reasons). Red Lion's quotes were very competitive and not the highest I received. The front office worked very hard (and very patiently) with me while I selected a "prettier" new model for the bathroom. The work was scheduled promptly and completely quickly - and very, very professionally. I am very pleased with the work and the product we purchased. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Broken corroded pipes and valves under my bathroom sink were the result of me trying to fix the original steady drip from the hot water side of the faucet which was doubling my propane and water bill...gallons of water later all in my bathroom and into the hall...bucket in place i joined angie's list and found red lion almost in my own backyard and texted them at 2am followed with a call at 8am and everything was fixed by 2pm...he even stopped and picked out my new faucet, which i absolutely love, because he didn't have one with him. Words are not sufficient to convey what their help in everyway meant to me and my family that day...i believe i found friends who just happen to provide the most awesome plumbing service ever!!!!!!!!

+ 0 moreThe estimate of what I spent is just a guess; there were several things I had them look at and I don't really remember the amount they charged. I just remember it was less than I expected.
Description of Work: Good guys. Arrived when they said they would. One issue was a sink that didn't drain. At first they couldn't figure out what the problem was but didn't give up until they had an answer. They spent several hours trying to figure it out. In the end the problem could not be fixed but they were honest and didn't suggest we "try" something that may or may not work.
