It turned out well. I was very happy with the speed of work and everything seemed to be okay. My impression of the company overall has been good. They would be the first company I'd call. They were very professional, business like, focused and polite. They did everything in a professional way.

The company called me a few days later to schedule the appointment. The day they were supposed to come out they called and had to reschedule due to transportation issues. The finally came a few days later and called me when there were at my home. Unfortunately, I was at work and could not be there while they completed the job. I never heard back from them to get any feedback on the work performed or recommendations they may have had. I sent a follow up email to them a week later and still no response. I sent a second follow up email this week and got a response from them stating they noticed a patch of wood that would need replacing with an estimate of $300.00 to complete the job. Are you serious? I have to hunt you down for feeback and then you are asking for another $300.00? I would not refer this company to anyone with that type of service they provide.

I left message in AL and they contacted me the following day to schedule. It was about 2/3days later, which was 12/1/2016 after 4 pm. The guy never showed up and the company never called me back since then. I used them last year to clean my gutter and back then it was ok. I don't bother to call them and just wrote this review and find another one that will do the job for me.

Had a prompt response by a representative of the company after signing up and paying Angie's List the deal price via credit card. Talked with her, scheduled for the end of that same week and it wasn't even necessary for me to be home. I was away the afternoon of the scheduled day and returned to find work not done. But it had rained during the week so I assumed their whole schedule must be delayed. Waited for a call from company to reschedule. After a few weeks of rain but no follow up from company, I called again. The scheduler thought job had been done. Set another date. Nobody came. Again the weather continued to be erratic with repeated heavy rain which surely prevented roof and gutter work. Still I had expected a cancellation call in advance or an apology. The third call worked. Crew in the field was sent as soon as they finished up so ended up working late, very efficiently, neat, clean professional job. I'm pleased with the results, well worth the price to me. The gal who was the contact person was delightful, sincere, eager to make things right but was not informed when the crews failed to come out and do the job on the scheduled dates...two times in a row. I am puzzled by the internal failure to communicate.

The service provider came out a few days after I called, spotted the problem right away, and fixed it. It hasn't leaked since. I was very happy with his price, work and professionalism.

Purchased the gutter cleaning deal on 8/4/16. When I had purchased the deal, I had made sure to choose my mom's address in Pasadena for the location for the work to be performed at. My gutters did not need cleaning, my house is only 14 years old and there are no big trees around here so my gutters have not needed cleaning since I have lived in the house. In addition, my house is a one story, I bought a one story house specifically so that I would be able to maintain the gutters and fascia boards myself. My mother's home needs the gutters cleaned badly and seeing as I am the only one capable of financing repairs done to her home, when I saw this deal I jumped on it. I was contacted by Modern Roofing on 8/8/16 to set an appointment for the gutter cleaning service. We set the appointment for 8/24/16, which was a Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and no one ever showed up and no one called. On 8/25/16, I received a call from Joe @ Modern Roofing apologizing for the no call/no show the day before and stating that they would try to get out there on Friday. No one showed up Friday. The next Monday, as I am pulling up to my house in La Porte, I see a ladder leading up to my roof. I run up to the man working on my roof, who is throwing down loose shingles and ask him "have you been here long?" He replies " oh no, I just got here." I say "Oh good, because this isn't the right house, I need the gutters cleaned at my mom's house, not this one." He apologizes and gets down from the roof, introduces himself as Lorenzo and calls his boss (Joe) on his cell phone to tell him there's been a mix-up. Lorenzo hands me his phone and Joe apologizes to me for the mistake and asks me to text him my mother's address and he'll see when he can get someone out there. As Lorenzo loads his ladder into the back of his truck I give him a $20 bill for the little bit of work he did. He thanks me and leaves. Suffice to say, I never heard anything ever again from Joe or Modern Roofing. I called them three times over the next month to try and get an update and see when they were going to be able to get over to my mom's house. I have a yard of mulch sitting in her driveway that I can't spread until the gutters have been cleaned so now that the mulch has been sitting there for two months I'm getting a bit antsy. The first time I called I spoke with the nice receptionist lady, she told me she'd look into it and call me right back. A week goes by, I hear nothing, so I call her again. She doesn't remember our conversation from the week before so I politely remind her and she tells me she'll look into it and call me back. She also mentions that this mix-up happens to their company a lot and they're trying to figure out what to do about it. I suggest perhaps Modern Roofing should confirm the job address with the customer as they're setting the appointment. So... another week goes by and I hear nothing, so I call her again and this time she does remember me but tells me that when she pulls up my info from Angie's List it says that I wanted the service done at my house and not my mom's house, and that Joe claims that they cleaned the gutters at my house, so as far as they're concerned, they're job is done. They tell me that I can take it up with Angie's List if I'm not satisfied. I climbed up on my roof today to check my gutters to see just how much work Lorenzo got done while he was up there (because, remember, he told me he had just started working on it) and found shingles in my gutters, which you can see in the photos here. The way I see it, they did 1/4 of the work I paid them to do at the wrong location where it obviously didn't even need to be done. Said that they would put it right without ever intending to, then passed the dirty deed of reneging their promise to complete the work and drug it out long enough to where I couldn't have had a chance to stop the payment on my Credit Card because they had failed to do the work. I expect more out of the companies that I do business with and am disappointed that Modern Roofing does not hold themselves to a better standard than this.

It took 3 appointments for them to finally get someone there. The 2 guys that came spent a good amount of time on the roof. I honestly can't say how good it was - as I didn't receive any type of analysis of how my roof was or what they actually did.

I was not at home during the work but from what I can see, which isn't much, the work was done well.

Perfect! He was able to seal off pipe on roof and stop leak. He inspected all other pipes for us as well and found they were in fine shape.

Work was performed as described. Cleaned gutters and cleaned up afterwards. They did a great job in spite of the heat! My hats off to them! Courteous and great communication when scheduling.

Yeah they were okay, they were okay. They blow everything out of the gutters I used them for gutter cleaning, they blow everything out of the gutters instead of taking them out like they use to and consequently you get crud all over the place but at last they did a good job, it's cost effective for them to do it that way I can understand that

As previously, their phone is answered by a real live person, who is very helpful. Nick came out to look at the situation. He subsequently prepared an estimate that was reasonable and that accurately stated all parts of the job to be undertaken. Within a short time an appointment was scheduled. The workers arrived and proceeded to remove sections of roofing to examine the extent of damage to plywood and underlayment. One of the workers left to procure materials while the remaining two workers proceeded to demolish the damaged area. All of the work was accomplished in one afternoon by workers who were competent and motivated to do a good job. My past experience with this company is this: when they come out to fix a problem, it stays fixed.

A big thank you to Nick Shirley and his staff and crew. The roof inspection and maintenance on my roof took care of a leak problem. The service was so incredible that I had them put a new roof on my mother's home. Kudos Nick on having a wonderful crew and your office manager Tea kept us informed every step of the way. Fast, efficient, courteous, professional results. What more can you ask for? Will recommend them to everyone.

Just as I and a lot of other people bought this gutter cleaning deal through Angie's List, we got a week of rain that disrupted their schedule. I completely understand that they could not clean gutters in a thunderstorm. The problem was the lack of communication and responsiveness: They would promise to call, but did not; the work would be scheduled but no one would show up; and they failed to call to reschedule. When I called them they would be polite and promise action, but there was no follow through. They finally just showed up one day without notice and did the work. The work itself was fine.

Two workers came out, they did what needs to be done as well as what I instructed them to do, they cleaned the gutters, removed the debris and cleaned the area in one hour. They also informed me the area needs to be repaired or add on. Overall I say they did a good job.
