I had this appointment scheduled through my home warranty AHS. The reason why they transferred my call was because the first company cross fire couldn’t come till Monday. My ac broke down on Thursday so they schedule me with this company for 1-5 the next day. My husband and I waited they sent a message around 4:10 saying the tech was running behind. I got home from work and called about 5 the office was closed. The after hours lady was very nice said she would reach out to on call and have them text me. The guy texting was Joey very rude individual. I told him please let us know it was hot. He responded that his tech is hot also working in 140 degree attic. Well my unit isn’t located in the attic so I told him that his tech didn’t have to worry about that and I understand but that’s his profession. The tech was not on his way til 6:00 coming from the Woodlands. I texted I hope he had the part and could fix it. That we had been without ac since the day before no sleep while having to still work we were exhausted. The tech called me said he was on his way I was very nice to him said okay thank you we will be here. Meanwhile I am still getting snippy text from Joey threatening to not send the tech. I texted asking for his name and that I didn’t appreciate the snippy comments. He calls me and starts yelling at me over the phone that he is not going to send the technician if I am going to give the tech a hard time. I told him I don’t have a problem with the tech I know he has been working it’s not his fault just poor dispatcher skills and scheduling and of course I wouldn’t give him a hard time. He then proceeds to tell me that he sees why they transferred my call from the other company. I guess he got his feelings hurt and was taking it personal. I honestly think the tech was tired and trying to get out of the call. Joey proceeds to continue to yell at me over the phone saying I have an attitude and he will not send his tech if I am going to give him a hard time. As I am trying to explain that wasn’t the case he cancelled my call said I can contact AHS to get another company.

Hello [Member Name Removed], you must be mistaken so let me kindly remind you of why you were denied service... when being notified the technician was running behind, but on his way, you said the following "The fact that the technician has to go into attics at other house calls has nothing to do with my appointment. Which was scheduled between 1-5. I do hate that he does have to be in 140 degrees in attics but I didn't choose his profession" 5:29 PM. Understandably, you were upset with us running late, however, we did notify you and you did not like that. After the owner spoke with you privately on the phone you decided to send messages talking about his private area. "Guess what Joey you piece of s* I have an ac guy coming to fix my ac now. So I will be reporting you to the BBB ALSO DOING A REVIEW online and CANCELING AHS!! I guess you have a small p* issue so if a woman talks down to you. You loose your temper and cancel appointments. Maybe try surgery and anger management" 7:10 PM. Unfortunately for you, I do not think the owner had the anger issues here. Without referring to the other reviews you berated us on, on top of commenting on the sexuality of the workers here, we find it reasonable we did not service you... So with that being said have a blessed day and I hope you are not this inappropriate with the special needs children you work with.

While doing preseason service, technician identified faulty capacitor. Also, advised of poorly installed ac drainage lines, that likely is root cause to overflow and interior leaking that we have experienced. Professional, trustworthy.
Description of Work: Preseason ac maintenance on 2 systems, replaced capacitor, provided estimate for replacing ac drainage lines; will return to do work.

On 3-14-16, I call J Tech for a problem with my A/C unit. They sent someone out on 3-15-16. He said the unit needed to have a control board replaced. He would have to order the part and call me to schedule a time to install the board. I was charged $70.00, which he said would be applied to the repair bill. I did not hear from the repair guy and called the main office on 3-21-16. the lady who answered the phone said she would have the technician call me. As of today, 5-19-16, I have not heard from ANYONE at J tech. All I want from j tech is my $70 refunded.

Description of Work: We came home to some water spots in our ceiling. I went to the attic and saw water dripping from the A/C overflow pan. I cleared the line, cleaned up the water, and called our home warranty company. They assigned the job to J-Tech Mechanical. They worked us in the next day. Paco checked the system and confirmed that a new pan was covered by our insurance. He came back two days later and installed the new pan $50 deductible. He also installed a safety flow switch and re-routed our outside drain line so water would flow more freely out of the pan ($165 - not covered by insurance).

I have a home warranty policy with American Home Shield and placed a request for service on the AHS website at 10 pm Tuesday night. By 9:45 am the following morning I received a call from a scheduler at JTech Mechanical informing me that a technician could be at my home between 10:30 am and 2 pm with a 30 minute call to notify me of his arrival. I received a call from the technician at 10:45 and by 11:05 he had arrived to diagnose the problem. The technician (James Taylor) was professionally dressed and asked me to describe the problem in detail. We went to the outside unit and he promptly diagnosed a bad connection on a capacitor wire that had become hot and caused the wire to fail. Instead of just replacing the connection, the technician took the extra step to replace the wire in its entirety and thoroughly inspect all other wires and the contactor for additional damage/issues. Upon reassembling the unit and starting the compressor, the fan presented a grinding sound. The technician then disassembled the unit once again, tested the motor and determined it too needed to be replaced. He then replaced the fan motor from available parts on his truck and replaced the associated capacitor. Finally he tested all voltages and the compressor capacitor and reassembled the unit again. He then proceeded to check all pressures and noted a slightly low Freon condition. He then added the recommended amount of Freon and went inside to check the operation of the system. I found the Technician to be friendly, professional, knowledgeable and extremely thorough. I was impressed that his company provided an amply supplied inventory of parts on his service truck which made the service call both quick and efficient. My AC system is 31 years old. Most technicians would have tried to just sell me a new system (and many have), but James and JTech Mechanical did me right. They fixed what needed to be fixed and did it at a fair price and were extremely responsive in responding to my service call. I know that service companies that perform service for insurance providers like American Home Shield do so at a very deeply discounted rate, but James treated me like one of his VIP customers and not like a low profit margin insurance work order. I have had five separate service providers work on my AC system over the past few years. I have to say that JTech Mechanical was the best and I would definitely call them again to service my AC system when the need arises.
Description of Work: Replaced a condenser fan motor and rewired connections from the motor start capacitor to the contactor and added Freon to the system.

The technicin arrived as scheduled and proceeded into my attic where the HVAC unit is located. Upon "inspection" of the unit, he determined that the unit was imporperly installed and the drain pan was rusted out. The tecnician blew air through the drain line which did nothing to fix the problem. He then stated to the warranty company that the unit was not installed correctly and as a result the drain pan had rusted out and water was draining into the Plenum. Had the tecnician opened the unit and done a full inspection, he would have seen that the drain pan is in decent contition and not leaking at all. He also would have noted that it is not possible for the drain pan water to drain directly into the Plenum as there is a 4"-6" difference between the pan and the face of the Plenum. The root cause of the problem was calcium build up around the opening of the drain pan drain line. The water was getting into the Plemun becasue of the down force of air from the coils causing a splash. Over time the water just made its way to the corner of the unit...probalby because of a tilt. This would likely be the "improper installation" he was speaking about. To add further insult, J-Tech somehow forgot to order the drain pan. This only became apparent after three weeks of me calling them and asking the staus of the orderd and "special made" pan. Everytime I called, I was told that I would get a call back. I received a total of 1 call from J-Tech in the entire two months that I was dealing with them. After finally resolving the fact that they had failed to order the drain pan, I was informed by 2-10 that J-Tech was not going to install the drain pan unless I also agreed to have them replace the Plenum at a cost of nearly $1200.00. I would not agree to this without first getting additional quotes for the service. J-Tech was never informed that I was not going to proceed with the install, but refused to do the work and the service claim was closed by the warranty company. In any case, I now have a hole in my cealing becasue of water leaking that could have been stopped if the technician had simply done a little better inspection. I managed to fix the issue in about 5 minutes after about a month of waiting on the company to come replace the pan. To this day, I have not had a single drop of water from the unit, which proves it was simply a matter of cleaning the opeing to the drain line and not a rusted out pan or improper install.

On August 12th our technician ran the call at [member name removed] house. The diagnosis was a water leak in the attic, coil drain clogged and water overflowed into the plenum. The suggestion was that the customer needed a plenum, drain pan and float switch. The technician did blow out the drain. The work was called in to 210 and it was determined what 210 would cover and would not. Originally they were to supply the drain pan. Because of the coil style they couldn't find one so if we were contracted to do the work we would have it made. Our phone calls with [member name removed] seemed as if he wanted the work done however the owner of Jtech never got an acceptance of charges from the warranty company so he never approved the pan to be built. We do not know if [member name removed] was advised of the charges but we turned them in.That then becomes the warranty company's responsibility. When we called to verify this we found out that in fact he did not ever accept charges and all of the people that he talked to at the warranty company never read the notes to that fact. We were never going to just replace the pan only. We would do all of the work or none at all. It is our responsibility and if we do it half way and there was further damage, we would be responsible for it. I cant comment on it only being a calcium deposit that was causing the problem because I wasn't there and I didn't see it. Bottom line is...[member name removed] never accepted the non covered charges and the owner of the company never got an acceptance email so he never approved the pan to be built. There may have been a communication breakdown in if the pan was being built or not but for the owner of J-Tech who makes the decisions there was never any doubt that unless the customer accepted the charges for the work to be done the pan was not going to be built.

The repairman was very helpful and personable. He completed all his tasked efficiently and expertly.
Description of Work: The provider responded to a repair request by my home warranty company (2-10) to repair my air conditioning unit. 2-10 said that what this provider wanted to charge was exorbitant, but after dealing with another provider and having a final inspection by an independent company, I believe they were very correct and reasonable.

Initially, this provider no-showed & lied to my spouse that I had canceled the appointment. My spouse was home all day & lost business waiting on them to show up. On a subsequent visit they were late. While inside the 90+ heat inside my home, he stated my air conditioners were "mechanically" sound & no further repair was warranted or allowed through America Home Shield, although one had frozen over. Before he wrote up the invoice for his visit, I asked him how much life were left on our units & he replied "10 years ago". Yet, without even knowing the history or our service & care of our units, he wrote on the invoice, that in 12 years, the units have never been cared for. The he charged us for Freon but would not advise us if we had a leak unless he was called back again for the same issue. He said the Freon would solve some of the problem. It didn't. My spouse told him to stop & we told him to leave our property & never return, although we had to pay for the Freon he said he had placed in one of the units wh...
