Description of Work: I contacted Dream Kitchen about replacing 2400 sq ft of flooring and installing granite in the kitchen, laundry room and 3 bathrooms in mid-January. We liked the options and thought the price was good for everything being handled by one company. We scheduled the work for March to allow time for all the materials to be ordered and to make sure we would fit into their schedule without any delays. | |We were asked which room did we want done first when we signed the contract and gave them 1/2 the funds on our credit card. We told them that the first floor would be empty and we wanted as many people in the house working as possible. Since we were getting new shower tile and new kitchen tile, we told them they could have 2 crews going if possible. We were trying to make this as simple as possible for them. | |I contacted them the day before they were to begin to make sure they were coming. My husband stayed home for demo day - only 2 people showed up to remove all the flooring and countertops. They only removed a 10 x 10 section in 5 hours. They said the flooring was installed very good and it was going to take longer to remove. After a couple of phone calls to discuss with Emad, the next day about 7 people showed up. They worked the complete 9 - 6 shift that day and accomplished a lot. Everything was put in my driveway on a very small tarp and in my yard without a tarp. It stayed there for a day or so until they sent the truck to pick up the trash. | |I took off the rest of the week. I had to call EVERY DAY to ask Emad where is the crew. They would show up around 10:30 or later and work until 5:30. At the end of the first week on Friday, I had to call several times. His response was always, they should be there and let me find out what is happening. He finally said their truck broke down. At this point my house was destroyed with part of the old flooring still stuck to the floors and very little of the new travertine installed in the kitchen. I was severely disappointed in their responsiveness. In addition, the newly installed travertine was not level. They had to remove several pieces and replace them to be level. |Even though I was told they worked weekends, they only work every other weekend. They did not work that first weekend. Another disappointment. | |Second week - we did not have enough travertine delivered and had to wait several hours for more to be delivered (twice). The granite guy was extremely good and worked extremely late to complete all the granite installation. I thought things were looking up. Emad came out for the next installment of funds, which was supposed to be when the rest of the tile was delivered. He did not want to take the credit card and wanted me to write a check instead. He told me it would be delivered the next day. It was not. He blamed it on the snowy weather up north and promised it would be in next day. Nope - not then either, but good news the truck is here but your tile is at the front of the trailer and we cannot get to it until tomorrow morning. It was 2pm the next day (3 days after it was supposed to be there). | |I was told they did not use contractor's for any work. That was not the case for my house. The tile installers did not work for Emad - he contracted out my job. While they did good work, I had to contend with them spitting gum out in my yard, trash (coke cans and water bottles) thrown in my shrubs and along my fence line and their lunch trash sitting on my new floors. When I told Emad, they switched from spitting out gum in my yard to putting it in my kitchen cabinet (I found after they all left). |I was very glad when they were finally done and I wouldn't be cleaning up after them. I also found where they had wrote on my stained bathroom cabinet by the toilet about 8" x 3" in length. Emad showed up for the last payment before the job was completed. They still needed to send the cleaning crew and the new shower door needed to be installed. We refused to pay until it was complete. Emad stayed in my house asking me to have a heart and telling me how hurt he is that I didn't trust him to complete the job. He did not want the payment by credit card - only a check. When asked when the cleaning crew would be there, he said tomorrow. However, we had him call the company to schedule and they couldn't get to us for another week. He only took aff $100 for 4 hours of cleaning. He also had not sceduled the shower door people to come out to measure for the door. We finally decided to cancel that part of our contract and hired someone else to complete the job. I reviewed the invoices before final payment and noticed he charged me tax on labor line items. Once I pointed that out, he created new invoices for me to pay. He stated that was manually done in their system. | |This was the most unorganized and mismanaged job I've ever seen. Nothing was scheduled ahead of time and the schedule that Emad gave me the first week was not how the work was done. He always had an excuse. It was supposed to take 2 weeks and we were able to have it completed (not counting the items we cancelled from them) in 2 and a half weeks. I was told later that it took longer because I added the shower walls. I added them to our work order in January. It was the most stressful and frustrating 2.5 weeks I've ever had.

Description of Work: We received a quote for them to re-model our home. We went with a different contractor which we have since regretted. Future jobs we will use Dream Kitchen & Bath. They are professional and the bid was received quickly. Wish we had gone with them.
