+ 2 moreIn the beginning, it very wel. they had the drywall and exterior insulation, tape and bedding and texture completed in the first wee, much faster than expected. Howeve, before the texture and painting process began, decided to change the color in one room. had no idea I was going to get charged $250.00 service fee to have one room painted a different color. I do not mean they repainted. This was all decided before they began the painting. Bid stated all doors, interior, to be painted. They all were still sitting in the garage. When I asked about this, Mr. Peterson said they were NOT included In his bid, None of the outlet switches were replaced after the painting was complete, I was told, we did not take them off so we did not put them back on. REALLY? They were still paid in full.
Description of Work: 1100 sq.ft. Property with full demo complete up to 4 ft from floor before services. Full drywall, tape and bed, paint.

+ 0 moreWaited over two weeks for estimate with promise work could be done shortly therafter if we selected him. Waited because of his good rating. Upon arriving he advises work will really be done a month later than stated. Takes 4 days to give estimate response and then states got higher dollar options and refuses the job. We were prepared to spend several thousand dollars and are sad to see this is just a typical contractor who makes false promises to the consumer. A month down the drain for us. But the contractor just gets rich.

+ -1 moreIt didn't go at all. I requested a quote on 6/23, Monday of this week. He replyied back on Tuesday wanting to know what part of town I was located in. I told him the area on Tuesday. Today, Wednesday, the 25th, he replied back that he had too many projects to take on another.
Description of Work: Provider was too busy to come out and give me a quote on the work I requested. It took 3 days for me to find that out.

The contractor left it unfinished and in a mess after SIX MONTHS of working on it. Dennis and Greg tore out, hauled off, and had the new one completed in two days! And it is a beautiful deck... We could not be happier with the quality of the workmanship, the products used and our interaction with these two professionals. The only aspect of the project that has not yet been completed is installation of a bench, but I am confident that they will return to finish the job, just as they promised. His recommendation for how to best repair the water damage not only fixed the problem but improved the look of the home afterwards. His communication and professionalism, not to mention the actual work completed in the house, were fantastic.

+ -1 moreI thought this would be a very hard and therefore potentially expensive job given that the roof beams were over 25 feet of the ground. Additionally, in the back, where the beams needed to be replaced and not just repaired, there is no flat ground given that the house sits on a hill. There were 11 beams in total. Greg and Dennis came out to look at the job and we talked it through. I knew what i wanted to do, but Dennis had some ideas to improve upon my original ideas. Dennis and Greg repaired all of the beams by cutting them off flush with the house and repainting them. Several of the beams in the back (that were not structural) were beyond repair and Dennis made new beams to match the others perfectly. They also cut all the ends of the beams at and angle, and added bird spikes to keep the squirrels from getting on the beams under the roof (Dennis's idea) to help protect them better. They also repaired some rotted wood siding on the back of the house and replaced several structural pieces on my front porch. I did not have sufficent old paint, so they got new paint that matched. The bottom-line is that Dennis and Greg met all my expectations. I have used Dennis before and therefore knew what to expect of his quality of work to the point that i was not home when they did all the work. When i came home from vacation, the work was done, and needless to say, i was very happy with the results as expected. Dennis provides high quality work at a reasonable price, making it an easy choice for me when it comes to woodwork and remodeling jobs.
Description of Work: Replaced and repaired exterior beams that extend out from under the roof (25 ft plus high) of my house. The beams stuck out beyond the roof line and had incurred environmental damage over the years. Replaced some wood siding and repaired some wood on the deck of the front porch. Painted everything to match.

+ -1 moreEverything went well; one trip to Home Depot was made but for all that they did, it only took a few hours. I was disappointed that they didn't lay something down on the kitchen floor or at least move my area rug so that ceiling spackle wouldn't fall and get ground into my dark blue carpet. I cleaned as I could and think it's OK now, but considering the excellent job they did on what they were called for and the issues they ran into, and the freebies they discovered during the issues and fixed, I can deal with a dirty rug. I'll just know next time to look for things like possible fallout from above lol. The freebies involved fixing the hang of our front door and a leak under the kitchen sink, which we had no clue about. All in all, we were very well pleased with the service that Dennis and his brother provided, and will absolutely recommend the company to others!
Description of Work: Fixed the overhead kitchen light - it's DAYTIME now; found the switch that turns the ice maker on for our frig - no more bagged ice; couldn't change out the main bath tub faucet handle due to needing a licensed plumber (which Dennis told the landlord); threw in a few freebies that they noticed needed fixing that they certainly didn't need to do.

I was provided an estimate within a few hours of them leaving and am very satisfied with the level of service so far. We are still getting additional estimates so we have not made a decision yet on which provider we will use to get the work done.
Description of Work: I contacted Dennis via Angie's List messaging and he responded very promptly. He was able to come out to give an estimate within 24 hours.

Description of Work: I have used the services of Dennis Peterson several times. Anytime I need to fix issues in my house he is the person I ask to come out. I am amazed at how flexible he is. He can fix most anything. On this trip I needed him to fix the baseboard under my sink (we had a leak and a plumber cut into it), spruce up my AC unit so it did not look rusted, touch up paint around the house places that we scraped the paint, install a new tissue paper holder in a bathroom, fix a crack in the concrete, among other things. Everything was done as quality as new. I'm one of those people that wants perfection and I am never disappointed by Dennis. The other thing I really appreciate is he is a people person. My fiancé enjoys his visit. He is personable and real and respectful. She is a very sensitive person but Dennis makes her feel comfortable. I'm trying to sell my house and I want it perfect for the next person that gets it. Dennis's work is quality that you know another person would appreciate. This is my third time using his services and I highly recommend him and his team. Angies List is great at giving us great service providers and this is one I absolutely appreciate. I really appreciate people that are a class act and I can identify with. I will call Dennis whatever house I am in. Great work and really cares to take care of what you need. You just tell him what you need and he will take care of it. You don't have to be there. He knows the quality you want and very respectful. Wherever we end up in the metroplex I will always seek him out for help. I know his capabilities and appreciate his work.

+ 2 moreThey work was outstanding, they raised the floor to provide a level entry from the main part of the house. Framed and finished the new wall. added electrical plugs in seven locations, as well as, two lights (one in the main room and the other in the 6x6 closet they built). Framed the exterior wall with two 3x5 windows, exterior was bricked and looks great. They did all the wall/ceil texturing and painting. They also did a wonderful job staining the doors and jams to match the existing trim in the main house. This add on looks like it was original to the house. Exactly what we were hoping for. I cannot express just how happy I am with the work that Dennis and Greg did, not only does it look great, they were right on the nose with cost. Outstanding job, I would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends.

They cut down and fitted an interior door and well as wiring up the electrical switch. They did everything right the first time and I am very satisfied with the work and would recommend to anyone.

+ 0 more.I emailed and set up a time up for Dennis to come out and quote me for the removal of the mirrors sometime in early November. He was right on time , VERY professional and courteous. I explained that we were probably going to do one room before Christmas and the other in early spring, so I needed separate quotes. He left and said he would email me in a day or two with quotes. On 2 nd day, quotes were in my in box! I was very pleased with quote, I had had 2 other quotes,and he was right in the ballpark, price and time wise. I contacted Dennis and we set a time & date up for the upstairs bath to be done. About 4 or 5 days before he was scheduled to start, he contacted me and said that a customer has rescheduled a job for a later date and he could start early. He also mentioned that if I wanted both done, he could do both rooms on the same day and save me $150.00 !! Of course I went for it.. They ran into a couple of problems in the removal, but the 3 looked and studied the situations for about 5 minutes, and lo and behold, problems solved! Cleaned up as they went along, so no big accumulation of debris.My wife was VERY happy with that!! Dennis, Jonathan and Gregg showed up the day and time promised. Job was completed as agreed to, and My wife and I were VERY pleased with the results. These guys, Dennis, Jonathan and Greg are truly a vanishing breed of professionals. They made you feel like you were part of their family and that it was a 'family project' that would be done right !! Will use again if there is ANYTHING I believe they can do that I need done!! + -1 moreI received 2 other quotes that were slightly over 10k which was much too expensive for such a small project. I'm used to having contractors show up late, not show up at all, take their time, leave early, charge too much, etc.. But Dennis was none of those. |He showed up promptly at 9:30 am each morning and started to work non stop until the end of the day, respected my home, cleaned up after himself daily, kept me informed of the progress and only charged $4390 versus over 10k by the other quotes. He works with his son and brother and I would use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: I need to expand a room by having a wall moved 3 feet,have an 8 foot french door installed, relocate 2 wall switches, 1 electrical outlet, and have the wall painted and textured.

I particularly like how they just came and went without a lot of jibber jabber. I don't like it when contractors try to get to 'know' you because we both know this isn't a matchmaking service. I appreciated that these guys kept the conversations completely on the job at hand and got it done to our satisfaction. I will definitely use their services again.

+ 5 moreDennis and his entire crew were amazing, they were professional, prompt and did beautiful work. From the start to finish they were flawless. It was a really large job, the bid for all of the work was much lower than all the other bids that we received. They were prompt and kept us informed throughout the project. They were very consciousness, we were so impressed with the finish product. We built our home and have dealt with numerous contractors, with out question Dennis and his lovely crew were the BEST that we have ever had in our home. I would give them an A+.
Description of Work: They repaired drywall on 25' ceiling, and throughout the house. Removed and hung 3 sets of exterior French doors, painted the exterior and touched up the interior paint and woodwork throughout the house. Power washed the entire exterior of the house.

He and his crew were here all day and did a great job. They were careful to clean up and did not leave any mess. I thought they went the extra mile to make sure the wall is smooth. We preferred to do our own painting of the wall, and he gave me tips on how to make sure it will look good. I would use this service again anytime - great people!
