Description of Work: Dennis and his helper were at my home at the agreed upon time and installed 4 new light fixtures and installed a new storm door. I was expecting to pay more and was pleasantly surprised at their reasonable prices and their good work. I supplied the materials but they needed a quick trip to Home Depot for items I had not foreseen. They cleaned up after themselves.

+ -1 moreMr. Peterson arrived on time and was able to complete the work within a two hour timeframe. The work he completed was excellent and we are very pleased. He fixed our storm door which was out of alignment and did not close properly. It is working perfectly now. Also, he replaced and painted some of the woodwork on our front porch. It looks great.
Description of Work: We needed a few minor repairs to our house and called some of the people on Angie's list who had good reviews to find out their availability and approximate charge. Mr. Peterson was kind enough to come by and give us an estimate which seemed reasonable. The repairs were to a glass storm door and some decorative wood on our front porch. He advised that the door could be fixed instead of replaced which would be less expensive than the other person we called.

His professionalism and how quickly he came to repair the damage was excellent. He even made my door more secure than before. He quoted me over the phone $200 but he was able to make repairs without having to make extra purchases of supplies. I will use him again should the need arise. Thank you, Dennis!

+ -1 moreHe had exactly the skills I was looking for. I liked his versatility; He could do plumbing, wiring, construction, concrete work, etc. He could do almost anything. He was punctual. He was very good at communicating as to what he was doing, what my choices would be and the cost associated with it. He had been doing these works for many years. He was honest and I was happy with him.
Description of Work: Last time, he installed a laminate floor in the library, he installed number of light fixtures and ceiling fans. He did some repair on my kitchen cabinetry. He installed new hardware on my doors and cabinets. He put new door knobs and kick plates on my exteriors doors. He did a whole bunch of projects associate with interior remodeling of the house. He did some wiring work too.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. When I called him, he almost always answered the phone directly. If I had to leave message, he called me right back. Dennis responded quickly to give us an estimate. We had to wait 2 weeks for the storm door we ordered (our choice). When the storm door arrived I called him and he was on the job within 2 days. The woodwork and door installations were done with attention to detail and has the look of a professional job. The painting was also done very well; not sloppy. He accidently broke the light fixture by our front door (that was old and cruddy); he replaced it with a brand new one at no additional cost.
Description of Work: He replaced the wood trim around our garage door, painted the front of the house, replaced our front door and installed a storm door. He also replaced a security light for us.

+ -1 moreDennis did an excellent job. He arrived exactly when scheduled to bid our proposed work & was available to start the work in a reasonable time from us accepting his bid. He also arrived to work when he said he would and completed the work within the two days he quoted. He was also very careful in protecting our furniture and distressed wood flooring while applying the texture and painting the ceiling and walls. The quality of his work is excellent and Dennis is a very nice individual. We will definitely have him do more work for us & are recommending him to our friends.
Description of Work: Repaired sheetrock that had been damaged by a water leak, retextured & painted ceiling in living room . Painted living room walls. Installed flooring in walk-in attic to create more storage space. Repaired broken chair leg & drawer.

+ -1 moreHad to reschedule once, but not unexpected for contractual work. One comment: new door jam (bottom fitting) was a generic fit (boot), which had a 3 inch lip on the front of the door. If using this service again, would ensure original replacement pieces/equipment are used.

+ 1 moreMr. Peterson did a fabulous job. He's a perfectionist and takes a tremendous amount of pride in his work and it shows. He was always on time, always cleaning up and always prepared. He knows his stuff and he won't take advantage of you, he's very honest. I have and will continue to recommend him to people. I was very pleased with the results of his work.
Description of Work: Quite a bit of painting, including a 20 foot ceiling and entry way, the stairwell, several bedrooms, three car sized garage including the floor, repaired a few settling cracks, touched up baseboards and repaired a damaged one.

Description of Work: I had a door that had been improperly fitted by the previous owner/builder which was also in need of being refinished. Dennis reworked portions of my front door making it more secure and energy efficient. Now, thanks to his repairs, it fits much better in the jamb. Also, he refinished my weather and sun-damaged wood grain front door so that it looks new.

+ -1 moreIt went very well overall. The only issue was not with the work, but the door kit bought being aftermarket didn't have a short ledge like the original door. I would have to have bought a lot more expensive door or some type of custom model to get that. Sadly, the lip/edge at the bottom is longer than I like. Again, I believe he installed correctly and did it as well as could be given what he had to work with in the budget I listed. He cleaned up afterwards and kindly hauled off the old door. Very nice to deal with and it couldn't have really gone better.
Description of Work: Replaced a door leading from the house to the garage. The previous door had been kicked in breaking the frame and was repaired by a tenant poorly. He went to the rental to give an estimate and talk with me about the options for repair. While just a frame could have been purchased, the price difference to get a new door and frame was justified based on my conversation with him. He didn't push, but informed me the labor difference could wind up being costly if didn't replace with a standard kit. Good conversation and gave me choices to help me in my repair. He bought a replacement kit and I met him towards the end of the job to help install the door knob/dead bolt combo I bought.

Description of Work: Front door jam replaced, new door mechanisms installed, new weather stripping installed, drywall repaired and new molding installed around front door. The back door jamb was reinforced and also the door was recentered to hang properly. New weather stripping installed.

The fluorescent fixture in the kitchen came loose from the ceiling on one end, and was hanging by one bolt and the wiring. I called Dennis, and he was able to come out the next morning. He was prompt on arriving. He brought all the necessary parts and tools to complete the job. I did not have to provide anything, which was a surprise. He did a super job cleaning up my kitchen countertops and flooring. He may have been a little pricey for what he did, but I assured him that I would have a list of things for him to do the next time.
Description of Work: Bolt holding ceiling fixture in place fell out. The fixture was hanging by one bolt and the wires.
