I began shopping for a new water heater on 2/15/10 and was recommended to speak to Bugge Plumbing in Bryan, TX. After shopping and looking at several options, I decided to place an order for a new water heater and installation with Bugge Plumbing on 3/1/10. I was told the new heater would be delivered to their office in 3 days and that I would be contacted to schedule installation. After a week, I had not been contacted. I called the office on 3/8/10 and was told that the water heater had been delivered and we scheduled installation for 8:00am on 3/16/10. On 3/16/10, I woke early to climb into my attic and drain the water heater for replacement. The heater was completely drained by 8:00 when the plumber was scheduled to arrive. By 9:00 no one had arrived at my house, so I called the Bugge Plumbing office. The receptionist said that she did not know why the plumber had not arrived and that she would call me back. A few minutes later, my call was returned and I was told that the plumber who had my work order had scheduled a doctor?s appointment for that morning and would not arrive at my house until 11:00am. At 10:15am, I was called again and told that while the plumber was loading the new water heater on the truck, he had opened the box and found that it was damaged. Despite the fact that the water heater had been at the Bugge Plumbing office for 6 business days, no one had checked the shipment for damage during delivery until the morning of installation. I refused to accept the damaged water heater and asked if another one could be ordered. The receptionist said that she would call their distributor and ask to have another one delivered. Several hours later, I was called again and told that the new water heater would not be available until 3/23/10. I asked to speak with the owner, John Bugge, and was told he was unavailable, so I asked to be contacted by the owner to discuss the matter. On 3/22/10, I was called and told that Bugge Plumbing had been notified on 3/18/10 that the water heater would not be available until 4/5/10. On 3/25/10 I called to check on the status of the order and was told that the water heater may not be available until as late as 4/16/10, nearly 7 weeks since I originally placed the order. I again asked to speak with the owner, John Bugge, in order to resolve this matter and was again told that he was unavailable. I terminated business with Bugge Plumbing at that point. As of 3/25/10, all attempts to speak to the owner of the business and resolve this issue have failed and my messages have gone unanswered. My complaint with Bugge Plumbing primarily lies in three areas. First, despite my attempts to plan well in advance and schedule installation early, my appointment was broken without notice. Second, the first water heater ordered sat unopened and uninspected for damage in the Bugge Plumbing office for at least 6 business days. If the company had checked the delivery upon receipt, there would have been plenty of time to resolve the issue and order a new water heater before the originally scheduled installation date scheduled date of the original. Finally, the attempts of Bugge Plumbing to resolve or even address this issue have been nonexistent. The owner will not return my calls and there has been no attempt by the company to find a replacement heater and install it in a reasonable amount of time.
Description of Work: I attempted to buy a new water heater and have it installed.
