TURNER & WITT PLUMBING

We had a blocked sewer line which Neal and Taylor Turner tried to clear but correctly identified the problem as in the city's portion of the line. Their charge was quite reasonable. The city workers came out quickly and unblocked their line. But two toilets developed leaks around the base. Taylor came back out to fix the "repair" that a friend had tried unsuccessfully to make. He efficiently fixed what could have been a very costly repair. His charge was very fair again considering the time and work involved. Very satisfied with his professional and courteous attitude and the same could be said about their previous visit!

They did it very reasonably and very professionally. I thought the price was very reasonable. They came out very quickly. The price was outstanding. I was expecting much worse. The quality was excellent. They were very quick, they knew it was an emergency situation. They were very, very friendly. They didn't mind if I looked and asked a bunch of questions. They are on my speed dial. They always send 2 at a time and they completed it in about 2 hours.

We had another fellow we were using and he seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet, and we have not heard from him since. We were just looking around and we might have even seen them on Angie's List. I just decided to call and when Taren Turner answered the phone and I told him we needed a plumber and I said my name is Bryan Dunn, that's how that took off. It was always reasonable, quick, and responsive. They put in a dishwasher for me, they have done a couple of other jobs. They tend to run around $75 for a routine kind of visit.

Nothing was good. I was working in my kitchen, and turned on the garbage disposal. It ran for a few seconds, then something started banging around inside. I turned it off, put a latex glove on, and checked to see what was inside. I found that one of the cutting blades had broken, pulled the broken piece out, and set it on top of the glove next to the sink. I was renting, and contacted the property manager about it. She put me in contact with Turner and Witt, who said that they would be there later that afternoon. Nobody showed. I called, and they said that they would be there at 9:00 the next morning. I missed class to be there, and nobody showed. I called again, and they said that they would be there between 3 and 4 that afternoon. They finally showed up. The service tech came in, and I explained what had happened. He removed the old garbage disposal and put a new one in. The total time that he was there: about 45 minutes. Two days later, I received a bill from the property management company saying that I owed $150 for the repair. I contacted them to find out why, and they said that Turner and Witt sent a report to them stating that they spent more than the expected time diagnosing the problem, and that they ended up finding a rubber glove tangled in the blades of the disposal. There was no glove in the disposal. The tech never looked in the disposal (he unbolted it, took it to the dumpster, and threw it away without checking anything). The time on the invoice was false. The hourly rate wasn't too bad, but when the reported time was almost double the actual time, it was bad. They also billed $60 for a $39 disposal. Based on Turner and wit's false report, I was held responsible for the repairs. The only good thing that happened: I reported the incident to the Texas Plumbing Licensing board, and Turner and Witt was fined $5,000 for performing the work without a license(according to the investigator who handled the incident). They lie about time, and say that they did things that they didn't. Why? I can only guess. I was lied to by everybody that I talked to at the company, from the service tech to the Neil Turner (owner?). Don't put yourself into a position where you have to figure out why they lied to you.
