Acted as architect and general contractor for backyard remodel, which included two pergolas and an outdoor kitchen. As a architect, we found him to be uninspired and did not bring much imagination or input in to the project. Also, as architect, he failed to make plans that were in compliance with city codes and regulations. As a general contractor, we found him to be a very poor communicator regarding all aspects of the project. He never had subcontractors show up when they were promised and in two cases we had to provide plumbing and electrical contractors, after his failed to show up for two weeks. His solution for drainage issues was to have the water run across the sidewalks. All of his subcontractors were very expensive and did not always insure that project was within Lubbock city codes. His concrete subcontractor failed to put footing for pavilion support in the correct places and our second contractor had to redo footings to bring project up to city code. It cost us over $2000 just to bring project up to city code. I would not hire this guy to do anything that involves building anything. He is a disinterested and absent general contractor.
Description of Work: Acted as project architect and general contractor. We fired him after repeated failures as general contractor and his inability to keep the project going.

We liked the overall look, however, we had envisioned something a bit different. We had started the work ourselves, and then realized that we needed help. We wanted the landscaper to work around several established plants and a small tree. The final work basically razed the yard leaving only the tree. We are happy with the final product. The work went well, however, there were a few hiccups. Mostly that it took longer than expected to get started on the work. When finished, we were told that a final bill would be sent to us for payment. 3 months later, we decided to go to the office to see about payment and they said that they had been sending bill ever since the work was completed. This was false, we never received a final bill. This work was done in October, and once spring came around (March/April), we had a few plants that didn't make it through the winter. Nash warranted the work for a year, so the plants were to be replaced. Finally, the plants are to be replanted on June 26 - nearly 3 months since they should have started blooming. We were pretty persistent about them getting to this as well. We made contact with them at least 5-6 times during this 3 month period about this problem. Needless to say, the work is good, the design is okay, but the service after the sale is terrible.
Description of Work: Nash xeriscaped our front yard with rocks, decomposed granite, river stones and a fountain. The plants are for arid drought tolerant landscapes.

Description of Work: 14x22 pergola, double counter outdoor cement/stone kitchen, stone sitting area with water feature, 12x14 covered outdoor cooking/sitting area with brick floor, 5x12 storage shed, bicycle garage, brick walkway. Some things went a little slow with scheduling subcontractors and bad weather. but overall, everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and (very important) cleaned up every day. They all worked with us on any questions. Made suggestions that improved overall appearance and ease of using the different areas.
