Our plumbing started backing up on Sunday afternoon. Tim responded in less than an hour to investigate the problem and deduced a collapsed main line in our 62 year old home. He got our systems usable that day, and returned the following morning with his crew and started digging. As there were no visible clean outs, they started in the most logical spot and were spot on. This when we found that our home had 2 main lines and that one was 8 feet away from a 60 year old pecan tree. His crew had dug both trenchs and made sure that we also had working plumbing on one side at all times. The final connection was made on that Friday. Great people, great service, highly recommend this team of professionals.

They came out right away and got the issue resolved! They also split a line on a water meter into two water meters for me, and brought an old gas line up to code!

I was not pleased at all with their reaction to the fact I wanted to get another estimate before I signed for them to do the work.
Description of Work: Called them out to check on leak in my slab. I already knew I had a leak in the slab and told them that when I called. They said they would have someone out right away (and he was here quickly). When he arrived, he told me, "you have a leak in the slab." Well I already knew this. He told me he would have to call out a different company to detect where the leak was, and then gave me and estimate of $1950 to fix this leak. I told him at that price I would like to get an estimate from another company just to see if there would be a major difference. He said that would be fine and then proceeded to charge me $94.50, just for the service call to tell me what I had already told them before he ever came out. I have used this company before, on more than one occasion, and have paid them a fairly handsome fee on these occasions, but they had been quick and reliable in getting the job done and felt that was worth a little extra cost than what some others may have charged. However, I was not very happy with the fact he charged me that much just to tell me what I already knew. If there estimate was close to other estimates that I get, I would have used them, but to charge me that much just to give me an estimate, I will never use this company again.

I called this company the night before for emergency services for a backed up drain. They finally called me back Sunday and said a plumber would be here in 45 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, they called and said they could not get to me until the next day and I informed them not to bother. This company should not advertise that they have 24 EMERGENCY SERVICE is they cannot provide that service. I had water leakage and backup in my laundry room, both bathrooms, and my hallway where the water heater is. I considered this an emergency and found that they were very unprofessional when dealing with a customer. If they were unable to provide this service, they should of told me then, so I would not of wasted my time waiting on them.
Description of Work: No service was performed, they cancelled on me at the last minute. Do not use them if you expect them to actually come, and especially if it is an emergency.

Not willing to go the extra step to actually ordered parts needed...just turned off the working toilet and said I'd have to buy a new one, which, of course, he'd be happy to install for an exorbitant price.
Description of Work: Came to do simple replacement of consumer-supplied faucets and plumber-supplied toilet mechanism. Charged same price for very simple installation as for a more, but still simple, installation of faucet. Be aware...this company does not charge by the hour (which as stated by other local plumbers is approxiately $80.00), but by the excruciating "set price", which is approximately $250.00 for a simple faucet installation. My fault, since this company was referred by a family member involved in real estate in local area and I did not realize they would charge their exorbitant prices, my husband and I declined an estimate before the work was done. Just assumed that they would be comparable to other Lubbock-area plumbing charges (as stated previously, is about $80.00 an hour compared to this company which was approximately $250.00 per hour). Plumber told us that he could not fix the toilet and that we would have to go and buy a whole new toilet. This is difficult to understand as he stated at the beginning of the appointment..."the toilet is running because of a little rubber disk..." The toilet mechanism could be purchased at Lowes for approximately $10.00. Plumber seemed unwilling to order part, instead, turned off the water to the toilet and said he would come back and install a new one (that we provided) for $113.00 (cheaper than a simple faucet that took less than 1/2 for this plumber to install). Unfortunately, was not present when my husband paid bill ($600.00 for two simple faucet changes and a toilet mechanism). I later called to discuss charges later with "part-owner" who was very unprofessional and actually hung up on me. Called to report difficulties with this local franchise to the Mr. Rooter franchise and subsequently, received a call from local Mr. Rooter. Again, unprofessional, sarcastic, and unapologetic to the extreme. Beware...very standard service for exorbitant prices and a big dose of unprofessionalism. Wish I had read the previous reviews before calling...oh well, live and learn.

Needed a faucet replaced, and 2 minor leak repairs (replaced washer on another faucet). Young guy shows up as scheduled. Low professionalism, and clearly inexperienced, but that is not otherwise an issue for this level of very minor repair. He declined to replace the drain plug with the faucet, despite that being part of the faucet replacement parts package. He explained that although the replacement of the drain plug was typical for this job, "That would be more difficult than just replacing the faucet." He tightened a nut under a sink (leak #1) and replaced a Delta washer in another sink (leak #2, 5-10 total minutes). He called into the office to get the invoice information, and handed us a bill for $700. 35-40 minutes of work for the cost of replacement of the whole bathroom vanity and plumbing system.
Description of Work: $700 for a simple faucet replacement, involving a medium grade standard issue faucet plus 2 minor leak repairs. 40 minutes of work for the cost of replacement of the whole bathroom vanity and plumbing system.

AWESOME! If you want a plumber that is personable, responsible, reliable and very professional, call Kelvin @ Mr. Rooter! He had to deal with a very mysterious leak that we didnt know if it was a slab leak or above ground. He did everything he could to make the mess minimal as well. You wont find a better plumbing company!

Description of Work: Sewer line was sluggish. Two guys came out Aug. 18 and ran a camera down the clean out valve which revealed a big root directly going through the middle of the pipe and severall roots running down pipe. Also, you could see the pipe bowed downward slightly then rose. I was very impressed with their initial work. Both were friendly and professional, until... We decided the sewer line needed replacing since it was over 50 years old and made of "Orangeberg" material that premits root invasion. The new pipe is Schedule 40 PVC. One of the guys quoted $2200 plus $332 for a new toilet (American Standard). He said he could start the following Monday, then his partner reminded him of something, and the first guy said he couldn't do it the week of Aug. 23rd but could do it a week later on Aug. 30 because he was going to Vegas on vacation. While I thought it strange that Mr. Rooter had no one else to do the work, I went along. The guy called Monday the 30th and wanted to know if I still wanted to replace the line. I said yes, so he said his two men who dig the ditch would be available at noon and he would call me when they were on their way. No call that day or the following morning. I called Mr. Rooter to cancel the job since, by now, I was having doubts. The manager acted surprised at all that had transpired. He told me they would never put a customer off due to someone going on vacation and others could have done the job. He was also not pleased that the guy never called me back after that initial call. He asked me what it would take to make everything right. I told him I had been quoted approx. $2000 by another company. He said he could do the work for $1900. I said what about the toilet, and he said that was toilet included. Although I was leary of the attitude of the worker, I agreed. The two diggers arrived on the 1st and began digging. Around noon, they hit a water line running by the sewer line and broke it while I was running some errands. The guy called me and told me about the break which I know can happen. He said had to cut the water off, and would have it fixed by the end of the day. I called Mr. Rooter and asked them why it was going to take all afternoon to fix a line break. They said he had other jobs and would get to it when he could. I told them that was unacceptable...they broke it, they fix it immediately...I had not prepared to be without water all afternoon, or I would have been more tolerant. The guy showed up a few minutes later and fixed the water line. I had to leave that afternoon and returned Friday morning. They were cleaning up after covering the ditch. At this point, I can only hope that they took the old line out and replaced with new line...I did not see that part, but after all this, I think it logical to have my doubts. Twice during the morning I had to go close the gate in the backyard...once when our two goofball dogs got out. Fortunately, they had not gotten far when I discovered it. Later, I was told they got out again because the gate was not closed. I had not put the dogs in the house because they would bother the guy installing the toilet by wanting to be petted. The dogs were nowhere to be found. They are new to the area and did not have address tags yet, so I was concerned. I got in the pickup and drove all around trying to find them. I went back to the house to see if they had returned and comletely lost it. I yelled at them because it is not that hard to close the dang gate. I could see the dogs gone. I was not nice and probably said many things I shouldn't have said. I again got into my pick to continue looking. I got on the phone to the company and by this time, I could hear the frustration in the manager's voice...not only for all that had gone wrong, but also for me losing my temper. When the guy called and said the dogs had returned, I told them to put them in the yard and close the gate if they could handle that. I returned to the house and told all of them to clear out...that I had had enough and I wanted all of them gone. The manager called me after his guy called him and informed me that it would be at least 5:00 before anyone else could get there, so if I wanted the toilet installed, his guy would have to do it. By this time, I had cooled off a little and realized I had little choice, so I agreed to let his guy finish. He finished and did a good job. I can't justify using this company again, even though they did a great job the first time I used them (about a month ago). If I do, I will request only the person that came out then...he did excellent work. It is all about attitude, and I saw very little good
