When you are hiring a contractor to complete a big job, and this is a big job, you need to interview contractors for multiple reasons. You do not want "just anyone" working on your house. You want a contractor who is honest, dependable, knowledgeable, does good work, and charges approximately what others are charging in the area. He was very unprofessional all the way around!

I liked the salesman, but the price was too high.

They quoted an approximate total cost of 150K for the kitchen remodel and 450k for the addition. Check with a friend that remodels but he does this in the outer-banks (NC) and after showing him a design (we already had), he told us that would cost about 160K total with kitchen and addition. Due to the significant price gap we are researching more contractors. I gave this provider a low grade on professionalism, because I do not consider professional to gauge a price that much. If the cost is that much, a professional would do a break down of the cost and why is so costly and not send an very succinct email without contacting me afterwards or doing any kind of follow up. I do not think that if Gill Construction Inc expects someone to contract them and pay them more than half a million dollars (575,000.00) should call themselves professionals with that kind of service and exorbitant fees. My two cents....

They are great. He is very good. He is very prompt. He will come when he tells you that he is going to be there. He is very professional. I had a fantastic experience with them. Their prices were fair. They explain things why it went that way or this way. I recommended them to some friends.

Repairmen can when expected. Did a good job. However, when the contractor inspected the work, he was not satisfied with the work so he made his repairmen come back and do more adjustments to ensure the doors worked properly. Very conscientious about the quality of work done by his subcontractors. If he isn't satisfied, he will make them come back and redo the work until he is. I will consider using this company again.

We are looking at possibly using them. They were very friendly. The quote was pretty comparable with all the other quotes we got. He was pretty judgmental. He looked like he knew what he was talking about. He gave me some ideas and suggestions on what to do, and that was good.

It's been two years so I don't remember details. I think I described the work on the other question.

Overall the work went well. Everything ordered by them came in on time and the work was even finished early.

Gill Construction were very thorough in their estimate, but was very expensive. Almost to meticulous and wanted to pin everything down right away and we hadn't made all of our decisions yet. I think he would have done a wonderful job if you could afford his prices.

Jerry Parrish, the owner, came to my home to do the estimate himself. He gave me a complete itemized estimate of each project and answered all of my questions. He also brought a sample window and showed me the construction and how it worked. He and his workers came when they said they would, each person was very nice and knew his job well, and they cleaned up after themselves. They were able to use a few floor tiles and carpet pieces that I had to repair the floor where the doors were widened, and because there was no drywall or painting needed after the new doors were installed, the final cost was less than the original estimate .They were able to save most of the white 4" tiles that were removed from the bathroom walls and they even replaced two tiles that were cracked when I bought the home. I am very happy with everyone who worked on these projects. The removed the curtains from the windows and replaced them at no extra charge. All windows were caulked and there was no mess for me to clean up. My furniture was protected too. I would use them again and highly recommend them to others.

They do really good work. They contract stuff out, but they have great subcontractors. They were a little expensive, but I was very happy with their work.

The work hasn't finished, but everyone has been very professional, always on time, and the work has been quality work.

They are good. They came in and figured out what needed to be done. They did the job efficiently. Their price was fair. Their responsiveness could have been better.

I would have used them if I could afford them.

1. It would have been MUCH BETTER if Mr. Parrish hired a foreman that actually did his job! 2. The foreman was VERY NICE, however, he just sat around and talked, when he SHOULD have been checking up on his workers. My daughter did his job most of the time by calling him and letting him know how the plumber and the electrician BOTH messed up. 3. This job was completed mid April, and on July 23rd, we noticed how the finished carpentry did not even get the hinges right on our doors! They came out promptly and fixed it, but we had to get onto them pretty good.

The project coordinator was very helpful and kept things on schedule. The work was done well. The only complaint was that the tile man didn't protect the tub or flooring, leaving residue on both. I had to clean the vinyl flooring myself. Overall, everything looks good.

Appeared at the designated time. Finished on time and on budget. Staff cordial, friendly and knew their craft.

no problems...they did what they said they would do and finished when they promised...only irritant was some of the windows were stuck in an open position due to new paint Overall, I am very pleased with their work and time

Quick, professional responses and results from the people who answered the phone, come to make the estimate (very reasonable prices!), delivered the services, and followup. Among all the companies that I've used to do home repair, Gill's the only one I would recommend, having had some very bad experiences in the last three years. Greatly satisfied with the work in the attic.....no more groaning and pops when the wind blows. If I had the money to build a house from the ground up, this would be the man and company that I would choose. He even sends thank-you notes after the job is finished.
