I requested a quote for stump grinding and tree trimming. Dennis arrived when he said he would and looked at what I wanted done. This was the fourth estimate I had done at that point. He was very informative in his evaluation. He also pointed out that one of my trees (not being trimmed) was mostly dead and should be removed. This wasn’t an upsell because his quote for removal and trimming was so reasonable. He kept in contact with me on scheduling and informed me of any delays. They arrived when they said they would on both days and removed my tree and trimmed the others. The stump grinder is popular in town, as this was mentioned by other companies, and will need to be done at a later date. But I couldn’t be happier with the service and communication. If you’re unconvinced, look at the unstarred reviews on this site which describe a better picture of the company than the few starred ones.

I hired Dennis of Flatlanders Tree Service to cut/trim 3 large trees in my yard. When he started trimming the third tree, it was more shaky and dangerous than he had counted on. He stopped work and said he would return to finish the job later "when we're in the neighborhood." (There had been a recent rain, and he claimed the ground and wood were too wet.) But it's been several weeks now. I haven't heard from Dennis, and he hasn't returned my calls. Dennis and his workers left cigarette butts and trash all over my yard. One of his workers laid a chain saw on my wood deck, and it leaked a big grease spot, which won't come out. I gave Dennis and his workers homegrown tomatoes, which they didn't appreciate -- they left part of the tomatoes by my driveway. They had nothing to say to me except talking at length about their personal problems. Dennis bragged to me about how he does what he says he will do. I'll be hiring another tree trimmer to finish the job Dennis skipped out on.
Description of Work: Cut down and hauled off a large tree. Partially trimmed two other large trees (he didn't finish the work).

Contacted Dennis at Flatlanders to cut down a 25ft dead tree in the front of the house. He quickly surveyed the work and I received an estimate. I approved the work. Dennis and crew came out 3 days later and performed the task better than imagined. I definite3ly recommend Flatlanders due to the fact that they are honest, hardworking, on time, and priced right. Thanks so much!!
