Description of Work: We bought a 50 year old house which needed quite a lot of updating. Mr. Cranston installed 2 new water-saving chair-height toilets in the bathrooms. In the utility room he installed a washer box with new valves and replaced water lines and drain lines, and a new line to where the utility sink drains. He disposed of the old toilets and cleaned up in the laundry room. I'm guessing it took him about 4 hours for the two jobs. He was very thorough. The amount we spent for the two new toilets in the bathrooms and the work in the utility room was about $1050.00 which included the price of the 2 new toilets. This job was done on 1/15/2013. Since then we had him install a new stainless double kitchen sink and faucet and remove the disposal from under the sinks. He also worked to straighten the mess of water lines that some amateur must have put in under the sinks years ago. They looked like a nest of snakes and took up lots of the space under the sinks. What a difference it made. We will definitely call him for the next project. This job took about 3 hours. The second job with the kitchen sinks and faucet and straightening the mess of the water lines was about $290.00 which did not include the price of the sinks and the faucet which we supplied. He did a good thorough job and cleaned up afterwards and disposed of the old sink and faucet. This job was done on 3/12/2013. We will definitely call Cranston Plumbing for the next project. I can't give you a critique on Mr. Cranston's drain cleaning because we didn't need drain cleaning - nor anything more other than what I have already described. I believe that he would do an excellent job considering the work he has already done for us.

Description of Work: I purchased an older home, and when it came time to turn on the Gas, the utility compay discovered a leak somewhere in the line, either inside or outside the house's foundation, and wouldn't provide service until the leak was found. By chance, I called Ron Cranston Plumbing, who tipped me to the possiblity that a new homeowner may be covered by American Home Shield. He suggested that I call them before spending unnecessary money on a call that may already be covered by insurance. I found it refreshing to be working with a service provider that was willing to forego a profitable house call in order to provide helpful advice to a homeowner. I was covered by American Home Shield whose preferred plummer--not Cranston--visited the property, looked things over, AND WITHOUT DOING ANY TESTS, decided the leak was outside the foundation line and wouldn't be covered by AHS. My cost would be at least $1,500 for replacing the outside line from the meter to the house. A diagnosis without testing seemed suspect to me so I went for another opinion and again called Cranston Pluming. He arrived at a designated time, made the appropriate tests and found that the leak was within the house and covered by AHS. Canston charged a reasonable fee, and at this point I am working with AHS to provide the service covered under their contract with me.

Description of Work: Cranston Plumbing Service unclogged some sinks and got a ring out of the sink drain.

Description of Work: Replaced a defective hot water heater.
