Foreman, Juan, led a crew of diggers/excavators and thought there was to be some inside foundation to raise. This was not the case. He had to confirm with the salesman about the location(s) of excavation. Dirt work went fairly quickly, removing 2'x3' areas below the house footing. This was done within the first day, a Thursday. Upon raising the footings, Juan inspected the inside (checking doors & windows) during the process. He asked for, and was given some grocery bags to cover his shoes. Ironical as he wore these inside, returned outside, came back inside a few times using the same bags. Different crew came for foundation raising the next day. They were not as efficient and didn't do much when the supervisor wasn't around, waiting around. Crew chief didn't introduce himself until later and by dark (7 PM), all workers seemed rushed to leave as it was a Friday. The "responsible" one (requesting pay and doing the visual inspection with me supplying the lantern) seemed anxious to go. I paid by the job, if workers were paid by the hour, then some made some easy money. Repointing of the bricks was bad - no effort in matching mortar color, using mortar to fill brick cracks. Indicator tape (painter's masking tape) for the excavation locations was left on the house, cleanup didn't seem important. Area of wall brick was busted out around the gas line into the house. Dirt refill looked fine, mounded. Other cleanup (boarder boards removed) were left in the yard. Removed insulation around a window was left in the yard. Two weeks later, I had a new patio poured so footings had to be dug. Digging beside the fireplace, under the fireplace pad, a bottle jack was found and no back-fill under the fireplace pad nor around the jack. This delayed the patio pour. Called Basic Repair office. Got a return call from a "foreman", said that was natural as it was important to have that supported. Salesman came out, inspected and said that was not proper. He scheduled a group come out and put a concrete pier in place of the jack. Since it was late (after an out-of-town job), they were none too excited to additional (and late) work. Some of the areas were back-filled where sink-age had occurred. I'm not confident that the job is correct, it's not something you can see and prove. Observe work and ask questions. Unfortunately during some of the work, I wasn't home. Inside, doors & window work as designed, foundation seems solid and back to original level. I would not schedule this kind of work on a Thursday/Friday, opting for a Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday.
Description of Work: Raised footings around perimeter of the house on North, East and West sides in 14 locations, spaced about 8' apart.

What was supposed to be a two day job turned into six due to extra concrete beams under the house. These had to be drilled through. The crew was on time each day and worked very hard, staying late to finish that day's work if necessary. They were friendly and very professional.
Description of Work: Levelled and stabilized our house, which is on pier and beams.

They were really good. They told us they were going to move some hedges and move them back. When they moved the hedges back they died. Now I have gaps in my hedges. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: They leveled the foundation of the house.

Basic Foundation Repair Inc.'s price was competitive. Everything looked good. They were very professional and punctual. They explained what they did. They were very charismatic. They wanted to have a down payment before the work was done but I insisted that I would pay them after the job has been done. That was my only turn-off.
Description of Work: Basic Foundation Repair Inc. gave me an estimate and I've scheduled them to do our foundation repair.

Overall the experience was good. The cleanup could have been better, but it was getting dark on the second day when they finished. I lost two big shrubs, but I was told it might happen. They have had to come back to add dirt to the holes since they do sink in after time.
Description of Work: The doors in my house would not close, and cracks were beginning to develop where walls came together. I called Basic Foundation and a gentleman came out to give an estimate very promptly. He was very nice and did a very detailed examination inside and outside of the house. He showed me the problems and explained the procedure to correct it. Even it was higher than I wanted to pay, I had to get it repaired. The crew came within 2 weeks and began digging 16 deep holes around my house, then gradually jacked them up, sort of like with a car tire. The house groaned and creaked, but the doors would shut and most of the walls cracks closed some.
