Armstrong Mechanical

I've been doing business with Armstrong for 7 years. They have been progressively getting worse with customer service and work. I called and scheduled 2 sets of plumbers to do TWO different jobs at 2 different rent houses. They were supposed to be here at 1, but didn't show up until 3:30.. Then sat in their van for 30 min. Came in the first house and decided they didn't have time to install the toilet, so they wanted to give me a quote and reschedule. I got the distinct impression they didn't want to work since it was so late. I asked where the other set of plumbers were to install the kitchen sink 2 doors down. They didn't know anything about it, but they could install the sink. So let's think about that... They don't have time to install a toilet, but have time to do a complete kitchen sink, faucet and disposal? Well, they got in there and decided they didn't have time to do the sink, but they could now install the toilet!?!?! By this time it was 4:30. I told them to leave, they were lazy and didn't want to do anything! I'm very sad that every time I ask for a certain plumber or AC guy, they no longer work there after being employed since I started using Armstrong. Today was the last straw, I'll be looking for a new plumbing and AC service.

In mid-June we realized that our decrepit HVAC system was on its last legs. We had the ducting system examined and it was in rough shape with holes and gouges which resulted in poor air quality. We got quotes from several HVAC contractors. Armstrong Mechanical came out on top. We got a top rated Lennox system, completely new ductwork, and insulation blown in, all at a very reasonable price. Armstrong completely replaced the 3 foot plenum, which is the stack over the blower unit that connects to the attic ductwork. Some companies just slide a new blower unit in and connect it to the original plenum which can be caked with years of dirt. Armstrong installed duct elbows over raised rafters and dampers in the ducts. Both improve the airflow to each room. Armstrong also put in all new boots, the metal sleeve that joins the air vent grate to the ducting. Our old ones were caked with residue from when our home was renovated and the ceilings textured. They added a vent to our stale walk-in closet. The air intake vents are embedded in the concrete foundation of our home and could not be replaced. However, the installation techs cleaned them using an extended vacuum hose. We had a glitch a couple of weeks after installation arising from fluctuations in the electrical grid due to Lubbock's changeover to ERCOT. Armstrong sent someone over within a couple of hours of our phone call. They installed a surge protector at no cost to us under our service contract. Armstrong Mechanical's Comfort Specialist David T and their service techs were wonderful to work with. They were very friendly, helpful, and patiently explained things. The installation was done carefully and efficiently. The service techs kept the areas they worked in clean. We strongly endorse Armstrong Mechanical and Lennox. If you need a new HVAC system or air conditioning/heater servicing, then you "Better Call Armstrong!"

I have been very satisfied with the unit and their service followup. I think it's a great unit. Mine might have gotten cheaper somehow. It's probably a little more than it might have needed to cost but I think I've been okay with it. They are very professional and very courteous. The installation was about 3 people and it took about 2 days.

I was on a maintenance contract for my A/C and heating. They have done good work. The maintenance is a one-person job.

They arrived on time and were very professional. They serviced the unit found a small leak so they tightened the valve, added R-22 and replaced capacitor. The duct was replaced the following day with another crew. I would recommend this company.

Heat went out on a cold Friday night. They responded quickly, gave service call fee up front so no surprises, quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired. Technician was professional, courteous and friendly.

The service representative checked my AC for leakage and to see if the unit is to small for my home and if I would need to make preparations for a replacement. All is well, for now.

They are awesome. They did a great job. They had better equipment for lower pricing. It is very easy to deal with and they get all the measurements correctly and they didn't kind of guessed me. I would use them again in the future.

They promptly answered my phone call and set an appointment with a two hour window to replace a water heater. They called promptly before coming out to make sure we were home and we they showed up they had plenty of personnel and supplies to change out the old water heater and install the new. They were courteous, profession, prompt and did a great job. I am planning to use them again soon to replace the old sewer line.

They did just fine. They were super nice and they did a great job. I was very satisfied with the job done. I would call them again, they are my guys now! They were very pleasant and professional as well as very clean. They provided services in a timely manner.

Had an emergency plumbing leak requiring shutting off all water to the house. Service techs came out quickly and resolved the problem. This is a very large company that does major building construction, but I have used them many times for household needs. They have always done the job efficiently and at a reasonable cost. I had already called many other plumbers I had used in the past to get somebody out right away to deal with this emergency. Most were booked up, but Armstrong was able to get its people out that day.

From first contact to completed installation, the company representative were prompt and professional. The work was done when they said it would be and the installers cleaned up all the mess before they left.

Excellent responsiveness and service, We called on Monday and they were here on Tuesday, did a great job cleaning out our dryer vent. A bit pricey.

I had to call them out three times because they didn't connect the electricity up, then they connected it incorrectly, and the pipes to the a/c were connected wrong. I had to have another $1500 worth of repairs done because the duct work was installed incorrectly. The kids that did the work were very nice, but it was very frustrating to not have a working heater inthe middle of the night when your freezing.

The latest job I had the come do, was replace a main sewer line. They came and gave us an estimate, and naturally they were the best priced. They showed up on time, when they said they would be here, and it only took 4 hours, start to finish. They had to dig down the side of a small hill to replace the line. Very professional, very nice guys.

I called Armstrong in the morning and they were out to check the problem within 2 hours. The problem was taken care of by late evening of the same day. Armstrong made a major problem turn into a minor glitch by their efficient handling of the situation.

My bathroom was leaking to the unit downstairs. They reset the tiles. They also had to take piece of the shower wall out so they could see why it was leaking downstairs. They are great. They came immediately when I called. They are very professional.

.Arrived on time and spent approximately 3 hrs doing all the above. Furnace looked brand new on the outside and on the inside when the work was finished. AC compressor as well. Great improvement in the quality of air in my home when the job had been completed. Amazed! Gave honest feedback about current state of both pieces of equipment as well as to whether to repair or replace. I repaired. Both were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Will certainly keep this company in mind when replacement is needed.

After the servicemen left, I called Armstrong and asked for a supervisior. The supervisior told me that the office sent out the wrong tech and that he would see to it that the unit was serviced. He explained to me that they had, in fact, installed several Jason's Water System units in the past but had stopped doing so because of a lack of service from Jason's Water Systems. He assured me that I would not be charged for Armstrong sending out the wrong tech and that Armstrong would make sure my unit would be serviced. A week later (on 2/14/12) I called Armstrong Mechanical and asked for the supervisior. I was told that he was not in that day and was directed to his voicemail. After leaving a message, I waited an additional week and called Armstrong back on 2/21/12. I was told the supervisior was in a meeting and would call me back. I asked to talk to the supervisior's supervisior and was told he was not available either. After several evasive answers from the person who answered the phone, I was finally given the next level supervisor's name so that I could contact him in the future. Two minutes later I received a callback from the original supervisior. He told me that the part was ordered but that Jason's water system had very poor customer service and would ship the part if and when they felt like it. He stated that Jason's Water Systems is a small priviately held company and just didn't care about customer service. He said that he would have someone look into it. I told him that I would wait for his call. It is now over a month since my last call and almost two months since the original service call. I had received no call back from Armstrong, so a couple of days ago, I called Armstrong and canceled the service request. I consider the issue closed and an example of poor customer service from both Jason's water systems and Armstrong Mechanical. I guess neither company cares about customer service.

They are two people who do the work. The first time, the job was average. The second time, the job was done very well. They were thorough, and their customer service was very good.

They were very good and I would definitely use them again in the future.

The guys from Armstrong are outstanding! I had just bought a new clothes dryer when mine stopped heating properly. The guys came to install it and said I couldn't use it until I had the dryer duct cleaned. I called Armstrong They said they could come out the following morning between 9 and 10am. They arrived at exactly 9am! The guys were super friendly, super professional and extremely quick! Was a very bad lint clog and they were done within 45 minutes! They were respectful and very sweet to my 4 year old autistic son who was quite curious about everything going on. I will definitely be calling Armstrong again for any of my HVAC, plumbing and duct cleaning needs.

They were very good. They replaced the gas line on August 3rd and the capacitor on August 16th. They were prompt and they did a good job. The last time they were out here it was after 5 o'clock that my air conditioner wasn't working. They came out and fixed it. I gave me a discount and I also got their special plan so I didn't have to pay extra charges though it was after 5 o'clock. I was very pleased. As I told before they ended up replacing my gas line but they had to look for leaks when they were out here four or five times. They pressured it up. It was expensive because they had to put in an outside line. We didn't have a lot of choices when we had a gas leak.

The crew were here for 4 days of work. They set up, cleaned up, and were delightful to have around. Their knowledge and professionalism is what convinced us they were right for the job. They tackled a real mess and it turned out perfect. They had great respect for our home and bounderies. We have no complaints.

There was no charge because it was all under warranty. We would use them again.
