They arrived early on June 6th and removed the damaged shingles on the back side of the roof. They replaced those shingles, repainted the vents and installed a new roof on the Sun Room.

Advanced Roofing gave a very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, thorough, and rapid work for a very fair price. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Advanced Roofing. They are very trustworthy. When I first called them to my house to give a quote for the work to be done, they were always there when they said they would be. If they needed to run later (and this does happen because of the need to go from one site to another), I always got a phone call letting me know the new arrival time. I have heard many excuses and reasons many contractors use for not showing up on time, yet this company never gave a bogus or personal reason. I am always okay with a contractor needing to adjust the arrival time as long as they phone me and don't use the standard, detectable excuses (I have heard this from two different contractors; "had to take someone to the hospital on emergency, truck broke down"). When the foreman of the job, Joe Requena, came by after my initial phone call, I discovered he'd done about three of my neighbor's roofs, and he remembered each of their names. Joe drove me around parts of the city to look at homes with different shingle colors to see the differences between 20-, 30-, and 35-year shingles. This was extremely helpful!! This gave me the opportunity to see what shingle colors looked good on certain styles and ages of homes, and what shingle colors looked best for this area! Joe was extremely helpful, very willing to take the time I needed, didn't rush me, and answered any and every question. He returned my phone calls quickly, allowed me to take the time I needed to look around town to make the best decision, and was very knowledgeable about shingle products, manufacturers, and the amount of labor it would take to do the job. There was never any doubt about their doing a good, clean job on our home, and that their roofing laborers were very capable with this type of reroofing. By the time I signed the contract, I had great confidence in this company. They were very familiar with this type of complete tear-off and reroof many times. It was clear that they could schedule me into the timeframe in which I needed the work done. Joe answered many many questions as I considered the quality of a manufacturers' product, and thoroughly explained the many steps that would take place during the roofing process. The only thing I wasn't prepared for was the weather because it had been so beautiful and hot. The entire job from start to finish took about 8 days in the month of September. As it turned out, the day they were set to arrive at the house to start tearing off the shingles, there was a 20% threat of rain; Joe phoned me to say they will not roof on days with this percentage. It took about 7 days of potential starts due to increased chances of rain, actual rain, and threats of thunderstorms. On the days it did not actually rain, Joe phoned me to tell me what the weather looked like. Although we had to wait for this work to start, I was appreciative of Advanced not taking chances either with my roof being exposed to rain, or putting their roofers onto a slick roof. Once the work began, the workmen moved swiftly, taking off the roof in sections. As one team removed a section, another team nailed on the decking. The materials used were high quality; the shingles were unloaded onto the driveway, and all materials were ready in one spot for the workers to begin before the start of the job. All workers were on the premises at 7:30 a.m. promptly, and they worked steadily and hard until 4 pm. They took about a 30-40 minute lunch break and were back on the job. I videotaped most of this work. Joe's teams were careful about protecting the trees or shrubbery around the house as the old shingling slide off, and was careful about picking up the debris and hauling it away in a dump truck that they left on sight overnight. At one point I was very concerned that the dropping of nails and long staples might puncture the AC ductwork. I asked Joe if they could put something over the ductwork just to protect it, and they did. Later, I realized it probably would have been difficult to puncture the ductwork because I discovered it was rather thick, but I was grateful that Joe and his team was willing to go the extra mile for my request. He did it very willingly and without complaint. All the workmen were very courteous and polite, and while many did not speak English, whenever Joe left the site for a few hours, there was a second-tier foreman who answered every question I had. Many of the workmen understood my efforts at speaking spanish, and were always courteous about responding. At times when I had a legitimate concern about something, the foreman would step off the ladder and we would have a discussion; this was always done very professionally and without complaint. Several times they would make the slight adjustments or changes to whatever I needed to have done to ensure my satisfaction. I would use them ALL over again. I ended up getting a very handsome, quality roof, with good workmanship, a quick and courteous team, and for a very good and fair price.
