Our outside AC unit stopped working. I contacted several companies for repairs. Every technician that came out said that the outside unit needed to be replaced. I received quotes from 5 different companies. ACME quoted a platinum American Standard unit. All other companies quoted the mid level units for their particular brand. ACME was thousands of dollars cheaper! I talked with the owner and confirmed that we were getting the top level, dual staged, product. Needless to say, price was the first deciding factor for the purchase. The second factor was the willingness to answer questions and reassurance of the purchase. I just felt comfortable with these guys. The install went extremely smooth. Super professional. We had a couple of issues a few months down the road and they promptly came out and resolved the issues. They treated these issues as part of the initial install and didn't charge for the repairs. It was a refreshing experience for once. I felt like we got a great deal and have no regrets. Really good company.

Went well. Will call them on next service call although I hope I don't have to for awhile.

As is usual, our AC unit went out during a really hot spell of weather. We called several AC providers for quotes. Acme was the first to respond and as it turned out offered the best price to replace our unit. They arrived on schedule and were finished in about half a day. The technicians were friendly and professional. They answered all my questions. They were careful about keeping our house clean during installation. All trash was picked and no mess left. We were extremely pleased with the entire process. We highly recommend these folks.

We purchased a 40 year old home that had a HVAC system approaching 15 years old and not performing well. We struggled through the summer of 2012 keeping the home livable and had to install a couple of window units to supplement. We called in multiple companies to give us quotes of replacing our HVAC prior to deciding to go with Acme. Of all of the companies (two that advertise heavily) that came out, Mark from Acme, was the only one to actually spend more than just a couple of minutes in the attic to look at my existing situation. Mark spent a good 20 minutes in the attic looking at all existing ductwork, insulation and other possible issues causing performance problems. Mark was also the only one to take pictures in the attic so that he could show me the problems he found. NONE of the other companies discussed ANY of the issues that Mark found. He pointed out ductwork that was old and leaking, insulation on ductwork that was missing and multiple other issues. I did go up into the attic just to confirm and did indeed see exactly everything Mark had pointed out. Not only did Mark detail everything that Acme could do to help with our HVAC system, but he also gave me a list of things that I could do myself that would drastically help improve the efficiency of my attic space to help keep us cooler in the summer. Mark also calculated the exact tonnage I needed in a new HVAC system based on multiple factors (room sizes, windows and doors, attic insulation). He was the only one to do this. All of the other quotes just said they would replace the unit with certain size unit without any obvious decisions of how they came to that conclusion. Mark's calculations resulted in a smaller unit. He explained that not only going too small can cause issue, but also going over size can also cause performance issues. At my direction, he also quoted us a complete replacement of ductwork. Acme's quote was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. But their quote was the MOST complete. Mark detailed exactly everything that would be done. He was also the only one to tell me that we needed to add a fresh air intake into the unit because of how tightly sealed our interior space was. In addition, he was the only one to point out that the bathroom exhaust fans were just blowing into the attic, and they would, while replacing all ductwork, also properly duct these out of the attic space. Acme's crew was very professional. They took all precautions to protect our new hardwood floors and cleaned up completely prior to leaving. They arrived exactly as promised to start installation. The entire install with HVAC and complete ductwork was a 2 day install, but we had been told that ahead of time and they completed as promised. Mark came out a couple of times to see how the install crew was doing and noticed a problem because of the small size of our existing equipment closet and worked with the crew to overcome the problem correctly. After they completed, I went into the attic to look at the installed ductwork, and was very impressed at all of the steps they took to insure all connections were secure and sealed, and also had completely sealed all of the existing vents into the ceiling. The install was done in April, and now it's July and the heat of the summer. The old unit would have run 24/7 and never got the house below 82 when it was 100 outside. Today, our new setback thermostat is set to 75 during the day, and the unit only turns on every hour or so to keep everything nice and cool. What a difference. Also what a difference in energy savings. Last months bill was $100 less than the same bill from last year. The new unit is paying for itself. And thanks to Mark's other suggestions of what we could do ourselves in the attic, we believe we've made this home a much more efficient energy home. Acme was very professional from start to finish. No hard sell techniques. Mark just presented the facts and gave me options. He also put years of personal experiences to what had worked and not worked with various equipment options. They promised and delivered, and followed up all along the way. Great company and very highly recommended. Thanks Acme!

My Cental A/C had gone entirely out! I was without Central A/C for approximately two days while getting estimates, etc. My first estimate was from Ben Maines, which I consider to be an extremely reputable company. The Rep was kind enough to install a temporary window unit while I was in the process of making my final decision.I got my second estimate from ACME which is who I selected to do the work. Mr. Whinnery, Owner met with me a couple of days before to explain all of my options and corresponding prices. I replaced an old Goodman outside unit (13 SEERS + 3.5 ton) + Rheem inside unit with a matched set of American Standard (16 SEERS + 4 ton unit) - two stage gas + two stage cooling system + added ductwork.The HVAC crew arrived promptly @ 9:00am - scheduled starting time (Donney, Calib, Jacob and Cody). These guys absolutely knew what they were doing - most impressive. They were very cordial and professional - no bad language. They paid attention to detail, got the job done, and as a woman, I must say they did a better job of cleaning up than I would have done! Donney preset my control box to 76 degrees, the house cooled down after a short time, and I slept like a baby - my little dog "Kirby" too.Mr. Whinnery and crew came back following morning to install and reroute partial ductwork on inside unit (approximately 1 hour). I can't say enough good things about ACME - they're awesome! Special note: Mr. Whinnery is extremely personable and exudes honesty. He treats you like he would his own family.

Awoke this morning to 85 degrees inside my house and with 102 degree temperature highs in my area I could not wait for repair. My home warranty provider failed to secure a company to fix my A/C same day so I contacted Mark at ACME Air Conditioning. He was able to send a technician out immediately. Cody, the technician, was able to quickly diagnose and resolve the problems with my A/C unit and went the extra mile to help me ensure I was reimbursed by my home warranty provider. ACME Air sent out someone originally who informed us that our 20-year old unit was going to have to be replaced. He was knowledgeable and recommended increasing the tonnage to adequately cool our home which previously had areas not being cooled properly. After completion, his recommendations have proved to have taken care of the problem as well as being more efficient. The unit cools quickly and doesn't run all the time. All of the service technicians sent out were professional and we were extremely pleased by the service and would highly recommend them. My mother and my sister have used them for several years and have also been pleased as well as another friend who referred us to them. They were right!
