Rose City Professional Painters

These fellows left a flyer on our front stoop. Having already called a couple painting companies in the area without any response, we decided to try Rose City. We received a punctual response and had a quote visit within a couple days, during which we fully explained the details of the project and I showed Wes exactly what was needed. So far, we were very pleased with the service. Once we received and accepted a quote for $425 for both small projects, we picked colors and arranged for the project to be completed while we were both at work (we hear it is easy to trust folks in East Texas). The first day we were scheduled to have work, Wes told us he needed to reschedule for the next day. We agreed and once again made necessary arrangements (pets, keys, etc.). The next morning I received a call to let me know that the color scheme we wanted would require the price to go up (by $100). I considered the options and asked Wes and Mike to proceed with a simpler, yet still pleasing, scheme. A few moments later, I received another call to let me know that the men were leaving and were unable to provide me services. I did not understand and asked to speak with Mike (who apparently handles the business end of things). He told me that the work was more than he expected and was under-quoted, so he was withdrawing his quote and would leave without doing any work!! He would not be dissuaded and went so far as to ask me to purchase the materials that he bought for my job!! When I returned to a house with no paint job, I also found that furniture was still out of place... I will not EVER contact this company for service again, and I warn others to be wary. If you want a job actually completed, better try a different painting company.
