My Texsun Solar Screens

TexSun arrived promptly, measured all windows, and provided a fair estimate. They arrived less than a week later and installed screens with a "Satisfaction Guarantee!" All screens appeared to be fine. I paid installer $1,547.00 and received receipt. With the darkness of the screens, it is difficult to see in from the outside, but about a week later, i noticed the window in the garage was cracked from the top. Upon further inspection it is obvious that the crack started on the outside pane of this dual pane window at the exact spot the installer screwed into the frame. It is very difficult to see the crack from the outside due to the darkness of the screens, but quite obvious from inside the garage. Again, the inside pane glass is not damaged, only the outside glass starting from the screw. I contacted Texsun at 682-203-4848 on 3/30/2015, the cell phone of owner Danny James. I was advised that Texsun will respond to inspect and if they were responsible, they will repair, no problem. I was advised that someone would be in the area of my house on Thursday, 4/2/2015. I was home all day, no one arrived. I contacted owner Danny James again, he advised that he is actually sending a window repair company that will be coming over the weekend or early next week (4/3-4/6/2015), No one arrived. I contacted owner Danny James again on 4/7 and 4/10. On 4/10/2015, owner Danny James actually texted me the contact info for the window repair company and asked me to follow up with them! I did contact the cell phone number he provided and left a detailed message for the window repair company. No response. Since that time, i have left two additional phone messages for owner Danny James. As of this date/time (4/13/2015, 1948 hrs) he has not responded. I notice Angies List shows My Texsun Solar screens located in Lillian, TX owned by Danny James with phone number 682-203-4848. The card they gave me attached to my receipt shows Texsun Solar Screens, with phone 682-203-4848, located in Alvarado, TX. Not sure what to make of that, but obviously, the same person. I will update this asap with photos and any additional details when Texsun Owner Danny James responds. Although I like the screens, I rate F across the board with a broken window and a failure to respond. I hope Angies List can help. I also understand, accidents happen, if they would have responded in a timely, professional manner, i would not be complaining. Thank you. InformationDanny JamesP.O. James advised that he has never received a negative rating before and would make this one right. On this day, a window repair company arrived, examined broken window, measured and ordered a replacement. Bill will be sent directly to Texsun and will be installed next week. I accept Owner James apology and am satisfied with the results. Will update once more when window is replaced.

Overall time and installation was excellent. We added windows over several months because we wern't positive about which ones might help deflect sunlight into the house. Therefore, Texsun came out three different times, measuring, then letting us know the price and installation date before returning and installing the screens. We had new windows installed throughout the house, and even though they are energy efficient, we wanted a little more light blocked. With all the screens installed now, we are very pleased with the final result, and pricewise, was less expensive than another quote we had received. We really like that our new screens on the arch windows are one piece, rather than two, as the old screens were.

Danny was FABULOUS! We called for an estimate and based on that hired him to do the installation. He sent one of his employees to do the installation, but the employee had a hard time. Danny came out personally the next day and realized that we have extremely unusual windows, so he took the screens back and got the correct ones. He was friendly and helpful and a pleasure to work with. He came back the next day with the correct screens for the windows and had them installed in minutes. I would definitely use him again!
