I had to call and e-mail several times before someone spoke to me. The office personnel, Angie, was fantastic, but responsiveness of staff to visit our home for an estimate was slow. The day they came the "window" was all day! and they came just before 5. Then the estimate they gave me was on the 2nd page of a carbon copy that was very light and poorly written so that it made it difficult to review with my husband to know what they were offering us. I had to call and e-mail to get another copy which was a scan of the one they gave me. At first the price seemed good until I found out all that it did not include as compared to the company we went with.

All done to make sure AC ready for summer. Quick, professional, all good. He didn’t even try to sell me a whole new system, which happened two years ago when my system is still working well.

Great!! Very fast and knowledgeable!! Found problems we were not aware of and solved them. Would hire again in a heartbeat.

The bottom line is that we are happy with the result and with the work that was done by Covenant. However there's room for improving the communication with the customer. The full story: We were shopping for 2 new HVAC systems to replace old units, one of the quotes was given by Covenant. Michael came over to do his due diligence on the existing systems and compose the bid for 2 replacement units. He was very thorough, polite and patient, and answered all our questions, both during the visit and later in email correspondence. We scheduled the replacement of 2 units for a Thursday and the next Friday. Two young men showed up to install the units. They were polite and focused on their job, and by the end of the two days both units were installed. When Michael gave us his bid he said they would not leave before EVERYTHING was checked, however that was not the case. We were also concerned with the noise levels of the new furnaces (similar to our very old units, and one aspect discussed in length with Michael in advance). in addition, we coincidentally found the installers did not install the wet switch that Michael had included in the bid for one of the units. The installers were able to get hold of Michael, and were told to go get one and install it before they leave and that he would come over on Monday to handle the noise issue. Over the weekend I emailed Michael with a list of items I wished him to come back and complete, including a full test report, code compliance report, ensuring the installers covered all the items he had placed in the original bid and do something about the noise. On Monday noon I called Covenant as I have not heard back. Roy, the operations Manager said Michael got my email and would visit that day. A few hours later Michael came over (after a call in advance) with the 2 installers. He explained he was off on Friday and that's why he came over only on Monday. He had my email printed and checked/tested/did/went over everything I had in it. As for the noise, he instructed the team to muffle it with noise absorbing boards they brought with them which did help in dramatically reducing the noise level. To summarize - At the end of the day we got the 2 units delivered as expected. We only wish we had known in advance that Michael was away on Friday and the completion of the work (tests/checks/reports) would be done on Monday. Would I do business with Covenant again? Yes, with emphasizing the importance of communication to keep me informed of the plan in advance.

Excellent … Michael responded quickly … very knowledgeable …great price, contract signed Monday evening … new ac and heating unit installed on Wednesday … the 2 techs installing the units were polite and hard working young men... Michael came by to assure all was going well.

It went well. I needed a new AC in one day. Many AC Service providers would not perform service in a modular home. Covenant explained the problem with air conditioning systems in modular homes and the things he could do to make the new system work better. They installed a new AC system and heat pump in the one day. The system works wonderfully and uses much less power than I expected.

We received four bids for this project. All were very good. Covenants was the best bid for what we wanted. Not only did we need a new system but they discovered a few things in the attic that was making the system less efficient. Michael and team were very knowledgeable. We were able to get rebates from the manufacturer and electric company. After the work was completed Michael conducted a walk through with us and taught us how the use our new thermostat. The thing we liked best was that the explained all our options and then we were able to chose the options that best fit our needs. This was very helpful as there had been many improvements since we last purchased a system. We definitely will use them again.

Perfectly. Covenant did everything they said they would, on time and in budget. No surprises. The system is working fine and we are very pleased.

They are the best! They checked out out everything to ensure there was no carbon dioxide build up in our home.

I agreed to go with the high end replacement with a heat pump, the larger AC, with modifications to the engineering issues. The air conditioner was installed by the end of the day, and I am very happy with the result.

Covenant made several trips out to get the unit up and running for us. Now that they are familiar with my system, I will use them for any future repairs needed.

Went well. Roy showed up within 3 hours of my call. Oddly, the system had started up by then so I thought I was out of the woods except for finding out why it died. He checked the inside and outside units and determined that the fan motor in the inside unit was faulty (which honestly came as no surprise given a previous problem with the the unit a couple of years ago). We agreed that they would replace it two days later. Unfortunately, the system died again permanently that same night. The following day (a day before we had agreed the work would be done), the company was able to shuffle things around (one person dropped off a part, and Roy squeezed the work in between two other service calls not too far away) so that the system was up and running again by 1:30 in the afternoon.

Told to wait between 8am and 12pm, arrived close to 3pm. Diagnostic said I have to change a switch, $175. Accepted, but didn't fix the problem. Next, wiring blamed, had to wait more than one hour. Said it will work after fixing some connections, yet it didn't make a difference. Next, blamed the control board, $790. Told control board is fried although error code signaled pressure switch locked. Suggested we buy new AC unit. Gave up, not believing this chain of requests. Repairman insisted I had to pay for diagnostic and switch. Paid, although didn't get the old switch to look at it. Doesn't get worse than this in terms of service.

We selected six HV/AC service providers from Angie's List that had an A+ rating in the greater Austin area. We then received quotes for the exact same Trane HV/AC configuration (one was American Standard) from each of the six companies. After reviewing and comparing all six bids, 'apples-to-apples', I selected Covenant Air Conditioning & Heating. The owner, Michael Luker, personally came out to our house four times during the estimation and installation. Michael performed the final QA/QC walk down when the Trane system was installed. The installation was as promised, on-time and complete. I could not be more pleased with the work, equipment and personal attention Michael provided. Michael told us exactly what he was going to do, and then he did exactly as he said. I cannot give any higher recommendation than I would to Covenant Heating & Air Conditioning. They were very conscientious about keeping the house clean. They put down tarps and swept when they were done.

Several companies I called were too busy to come out to check on my unit but Covenant Air said they could squeeze it in between appointments or at the end of the day. Their technician Troy came out and he was awesome. I was hoping it was a capacitor issue (and so was he) but unfortunately it was the motor. They quoted me $700 to replace the motor as well as the $65 fee for diagnostic. I decided to decline the service because I just simply couldn't afford the price. However, I was able to find the OEM part at a local distributor and paid $130 and installed it myself in less than an hour. My only issue in price was the diagnostic fee. I asked the lady I spoke with on the phone and she said that it would be $55 but the tech told me it was $65. I wasn't about to fight with the tech cause it could have just been an honest mistake from the office and he was more than helpful so I wasn't going to let $10 get in the way of our business relationship.

Not sure how to price something when I was never able to see an effect from it. Supposedly it would help with the air conditioning bill (though the problem I called about was a lack of heat), but I couldn't detect a difference in the summer's bills. (They) did not fix problem. When next we had a cold snap, I called the company to say that their fix didn't work and I thought another visit would be within the warranty period. The receptionist said that she wasn't sure that was true, because they had recommended additional work to be done in April and I hadn't had it done. It was February or March at the time; so the work wasn't due, and I couldn't tell that anything had been fixed at all. She said that she'd talk to the technician and get back to me. But it was Friday; freezing temperatures wee expected that night and through the weekend; so I called another company, being unwilling to pay more money when $331 hadn't fixed the issue. Covenant did call back that later morning, but I had already engaged someone else by then. That's why I'm giving a D rather than a F on responsiveness. As soon as the new company's technician looked at the system, he said, "The heat pump's not plugged in." He did indeed fix the problem of no heat, and in five minutes. I felt if the problem was that obvious, the previous tech should have seen it, and I was much happier to pay for a minimal service call than for a long service call with no results. I did not do the additional work they recommended because I had lost faith in their abilities.

Michael Luken was guy who handled everything for me. And he was fantastic. His original quote was a little higher than the other bidders, but I soon learned why. He knows his stuff. He is extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of air conditioning. He responded to questions within MINUTES in most cases. He was extremely professional, honest, sincere, and helpful. He wasn't the lowest bid for the job, but he has a "meet or beat" policy. He actually backed that up and offered to match the lowest bid I had. If you are looking for a contractor for an install, keep this guy on your list. He also has great reviews on several recent installations.

First off, the owner is a gentleman and knows his stuff. Been in the business for a long, long time. And you can tell it's a family owned business and they care about what they are doing in the world. What set them a part at first.... I had called several companies to schedule bids...and receptionists seemed to have the regular...'yes, hello...may I help you?' But you could tell they could give a flip about your particular job... When I called Covenant a woman answered named Angela ... I was to find out Angela was the administrative assistant...she didn't rush me off the phone...sounded like she was glad I called and was appreciative to be talking to me...a customer...I know...I was asking for so little...but you can tell a lot my the very first impression and they made it right away. I scheduled for them to come and bid on our replacement and she said she would have the salesman call right away...sure, I thought...everyone tells me that...but let's see what happens...can't you tell we've been burned a few times?? So, right away we get a call from the sales person who schedules the bid and says he'll come over and take a look. He showed up on time, was so professional and courteous...each question I asked he had a very intelligent answer for...no stumping this guy... I was to find out he was the owner of the business and has been in this town -- in this business, for a long, long time. I love working with someone who knows what they are doing...not just says they know. Anyhow, so I tell him I'd like a detailed bid...he says he'll go out to his car to write it up and be right back. He's back in like 10 minutes... And it is detailed down to model numbers, brochures... we have so many questions... why this one? if you had your pick, which would you buy, and why? we pummeled this guy with questions, and he didn't flinch. As soon as he left my husband turned to me and said, 'we don't have to go any further, this is it.' I called Angela the assistant and she faxed me the contract...I signed it, sent it back and she said my install day would be Tuesday. Tuesday they came when they said they would ...by 5 p.m. they had taken out the old unit and put the new one in. A little while after they left, the owner came by and inspected their work and took his time explaining the thermostat..and invited us to call if we had any questions. We paid right then and there fully happy. Also, Angela stayed on top of us so we could get our rebate back -- for the unit and from the city. She filled out all of it and just needed a signature. They are the best!!! So darn pleased :)

called after hours, no response, says 24 hour service, no callback til 8am next day said they would be here, and altho late (almost 7:30pm,) they did call ahead, and arrive punctually after that inspection showed low freon (the expensive r22 type!). the failing unit needed 3 lbs. while they were here I had them check the other unit. (second inspection charge) same problem. needed 6 lbs. think they overcharge for freon, $115/lb. altho AngiesList has a blog from last year with the same general complaint for a number of providers. http://www.angieslist.com/articles/what-fair-price-r-22.htm both units had faulty start capacitor setups (one relay, and one both relay and cap) as as well. (prices of the parts seemed high, based on internet search after the fact, altho I know they need to make money to pay staff etc) work was done professionally in reasonable amount of time.

Service techs arrived on time, were very knowledgeable of my system, courteous, and professional. They advised the work to be performed, and when asked to implement additional work not originally planned by me, the Covenant folks were more than happy to accommodate. The technicians made arrangements immediately to add the extra work to their schedule. They performed not only the maintenance I originally asked for but completed the additional work in record time, in my lay-opinion. I'm only glad they don't charge extra for an audience.. ! I was very impressed with their performance and quality of work, and would highly recommend their services to everyone.

Arrived on time. Was very professional in his work and provided a complete explanation of what he had done. At our request, provided an estimate of replacement of AC if we chose that over repair to blower/fan equipment, etc. All was thorough and efficient.

Everything went very well. The tech arrived on time. He performed a thorough inspection and maintenance checklist for our two gas furnaces. He discovered that the blower needed to be adjusted to blow more hot air, and he even resurfaced the flame ports of the heating element at no charge. Finally, he recommended a couple of optional services that could be performed at an additional charge, but he was not pushy and did not try to sell me anything. I felt he did a good job for the price I paid, and I will llikely be using this company again for HVAC services.
