Wilson Landscape Design

Good. Only 2 showed up, but those 2 stayed and worked .5 hours. They did a good job and cleaned up the area and hauled off weeds and branches. Gave me hints and recommendations about mulch and compost to follow-up their work.

The landscaping crew did an outstanding job when the service was delivered. However, my biggest complaint was the length of time it took from when I purchased the "Big Deal" to when the service was completed. Part of the problem, possibly was because a number of people purchased the same deal around the same time. I purchased the service mid August 2012 and it wasn't completed until 2.5 months later. I cancelled a Labor Day party and had a cookout at a friend's house instead. More importantly, I had to initiate any communication. Email worked best for this company. I didn't get a return phone call to a couple voice mail messages, but I did get a follow up email. I had to be proactive with the email or I know I would have waited longer than 2.5 months for completion.

Scheduling conflicts on both sides but eventually resolved.

He came by and looked at the yard and took pictures on 7/19. I got a copy of the plans emailed to me on 8/8 and was told that the second email would contain the plant legend. I had to ask for it twice on 8/14. On 8/8 he said that he'd call to discuss in a couple of days. I told him I would be available after 8/12. I've never heard from him and I've been given no pricing. I'm getting sick of chasing contractors, especially after they've already been paid. With all the available electronic calendars "I forgot" seems lame to me.

I am in the process of trying to figure out what to do with my yard--front and back. The previous owners removed all of the trees so I was left with 40% grass, the rest weeds. I've purchased landscaping books, read about it on line, but decided I needed to consult an expert. So I bought the $99 deal from Wilson's Landscaping. Scheduling it was a bit challenging as I had initially scheduled it for a Saturday morning via email with the owner only to have DJ call me on a weekday to inform me he was on his way over. Normally this would have disrupted my day but I could deal with it (typical with contractors lately) but as it turned out, I was on a plane and not even home. Several phone calls later, the visit was scheduled for the following week, during the work day. DJ showed up and was very nice. he had to measure the yard by himself as I was on a conference call that was running late. Once that was over we had a chance to speak about my vision (mid century modern, chickens, some hardscaping, etc) and my sad sad boring yard. I even went over some pictures I had printed out for inspiration (walkways, walls/fences, etc) and allowed him to take that with him as he worked on the design. Two weeks later I received a design via email from him. At first I thought COOL! but once I looked at it more and more, I was wondering what he was thinking. First, it took me 1 week to get the plant legend from him--he thought he had attached it to the initial email. Second, what he drew was a dramatic departure from what I had spoken to him about: he put trees where there should have been grass or hardscaping and removed part of the fence and put a vegetable garden out by the road. It's been 8 months and I haven't gotten back to him yet but I know I am owed one redesign. Problem is I just don't know where to start with it...it's not quite like the original design needs to be tweaked--it needs to be overhauled. I never received any pricing on the design, as i was told that came later once the design was agreed upon. He did mention that they can work with people on a budget and can implement changes in phases which I appreciated. Bottom line: Be prepared to chase them down to get the information they will owe you. If you have tastes that are different from the castle houses that are around the Metroplex, be prepared to stand up for your vision and make sure you get what you need from them.

They did a good job and cleaned up well after.

I think it went fine. It wasn't presented as professionally as I expected. But, he did what we asked for.

I got a plan from them, but I wasn’t impressed by it and I did not go through with any work. The plan was very detailed, but it wasn’t very imaginative.

He met with us and we discussed what we wanted to do, specifically with the front yard. He said he'd have a plan for us in about two weeks. After waiting a month we contacted them to find out the status. It was obvious that they had forgotten about us and they said they would send us a plans right away. They did send us a plan a few days later, a rough, hand drawn plan that didn't include the ideas we had talked to him about for the front yard. I believe Wilson Landscape Design is capable of doing a good job but they didn't do a good job for us.

Great work... extremely difficult to reach per phone. Ended up finding an E mail address and cotacting them via E mail.

They were punctual, efficient and professional. They had fifteen minutes left of my contracted time so they trimmed my trees and bushes and hauled it off. Very refreshing!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out great. They were great. I made the appointment with them and they came out. They did everything they said they would do. They did a fine job.

The man came out and said they would be able to do the job. The company then told me that they didn't want to do the work until there were more people in my area that would that needed work completed.

I called Wilson's Landscape several times and left several messages. After leaving several messages, a man returned my call and set up an appointment for Thursday at 3pm on July 25th. He stood me up and I waited 2 hours on them and called them with no answer. I took off work to meet them and they never showed up. Ridiculous!

We paid for the deal that promised three men for one hour of work. Instead we got two men for one hour of work. The two men worked hard and cleared our backyard garden beds but because only two showed up instead of three, they got less done than we wanted or paid for.

Coordination of my schedule with theirs was difficult but DJ communicated effectively using e-mail. When Ben and his crew showed up on 8/21 they performed the job expertly and quickly. They were truly professionals who took pride in their work. They came back the next day to bore a hole for the drain through the city curb in the front. You can't even tell it is there. Other quotes I received only chopped through the curb and then patched it which eventually cracks and becomes unsightly. To me just this aspect was worth having Wilson Landscaping do the work. It drains like clockwork and I cannot be more pleased with the work that they performed and would highly recommend them for your French Drain needs.

We made arrangements for 8/22/13 to arrive between 8:30 and 9 am. Although I had a confirmation email from them on Angie's list, I emailed them and called to confirm the day before. They didn't respond to either and they did not show up on the 22nd. I'm asking for a refund.

The service went fine. They were polite and they did what they were hired for.

They were supposed to be staggered but he came out first before probably about 15 minutes after the guy from Wilson Landscape did and I had to drag him around for the first 20 minutes or so while we went around the house and I told the landscape guy what I wanted to do and we talked about some ideas so they now went in because Henry was in the house I had to stay with him. The landscape guy really kind of came in and you know got little input from me and came back around and was taken pictures and get some measurements and then he basically took of so he said he get back with me they owe me some drawings and I think hopefully we are going to have a followup of visit after I get that and may be answer some questions and we to do some talking about what I want done. He did come out and he was on time, nice guy. I didn't have much interaction with him because I have two contractors at the same time. It was a pretty good experience with him and it was great. I just haven't got the results yet. I would use them again.

Trimming of the bushes and weeding three beds was OK, certainly not worth $250. The money ws supposeed to be used for designing a sod solution on the side of my house. Followed up with them twice, no response.

It was okay most of the part. Nothing more stands out.

It went well. Discussed everything and provided a plan that was exactly what I was looking for.

I called Wilson Landscape based on reviews from Angies List. DJ came out and took some pictures of my yard and asked me a few questions about what plants I was interested in having. A prospective date was set for the job to begin but I was never contacted by anyone to confirm that date. It took several calls from me to finally get on the schedule. I received the estimate and was happy with the quote but later realized that the most expensive plants were not included in the original estimate. Those added an additional $1700.00. The workers arrived every day on time and were very professional, cleaning up at the end of each day and working very diligently when on the job. As the installation progressed, I had some concerns about some plants and tried to get in touch with DJ and John, the owner. but my phone calls were not returned. DJ did come out the second day of install but parked at the side of the house (I live on a corner lot) so I never saw him and never even knew he was there until after he was gone. John eventually came out after the installation was complete but I didn't want to make any changes in plantings at that time as I also had a drip system installed after all landscape was installed and didn't want to disturb it's placement. All plantings are guaranteed for a year which is nice, so if I do have any trouble with any plants it will be covered. All I can hope for is that if I do have any issues, I will be able to get in touch with them.

\We signed an agreement to have Wilson Landscaping do our mowing, landscaping, basic overall cleanup, a year of improving the landscaping. The agreement was never signed by Wilson's Landscaping. There was no response until I called/texted three times. A service was sent, but the employee did not attempt to have us open the gate, did not call, knock, or ring the bell. We were waiting for them that day, but they came and went before we knew they were there. Unprofessional; cannot have a year with no responsiveness. I've notified the company twice, and still no response. We are good clients to work with, but must have the work being done. I desperately need and want Wilson's to do the work. Their work performed in Fall 2012 was great. We simply need to see that our account and home really matter to them, and see work done. The mowing crew mows when it is raining and when the grass is wet, leaving a messy cut. They fail to lock the gate to the backyard which has a pool, and where the gate MUST be locked for safety and liability reasons. We've fired other companies for doing the same repeatedly. Having spent time with an enthusiastic and cordial D.J., explaining in detail the work needed for the upkeep of the yard, as well as the need for continuing service we desire and need(we are handicapped and cannot do much outside), I expected a plan written to include this. No plan after four months. I have seen that the crews need further teaching on how to trim bushes, get rid of weeds, make the area look nice and finished. Somewhere there is a lack of communication in the structure of the company, or there are too many requests and either not enough able workers or untaught workers to carry out what has been promised. My hopes are dashed.
