Wilson Landscape Design

Bought $899 Angie's list deal for new spring landscape in mid May. Took a about a week but they came out and reviewed my yard and said it will be a little bit more extra beyond the Angie's List deal to complete work. After a week or two, I e-mailed them about a drawing and they indicated they were out of town and would have something in about a weeks time. About a week later received a hand drawn penciled sketch. Not very professional, for I'm accustomed to nice colored graphic landscape design proposals, but so be it... I already bought the deal. They sent me an estimate for $2581 with about 45 total plants listed. The Angie's List Deal was for $899 for 21-34 plants, 12 hours of labor and 1 hour of consult. The deal was valued at ~$2000. I inquired about the estimate as to what was extra and what was part of the Angie's List deal. The response was that the second section was extra. I reviewed the multiple paged estimate and the second page indicated that sprinkler work would be extra. I inquired about replacing the sprinklers with a drip-line irrigation and they indicated that it would be an ~$400 extra. I agreed to the the extra expense. After a couple of delays due to weather and I complaining about the delay they completed the project just a day or two before we were to go on our summer vacation. I was happy with the quality of the work. There was an issue with multiple stations that watered my flowerbeds and grass simultaneously, thus we agreed to forego the extra $400 drip-line irrigation system. I received the $2581 invoice the day we left for vacation. I assumed that the $2581 was what I would have paid if not for the Angie's List Deal and I felt like I got a great deal and was very appreciative of the work. We had limited internet access and spotty cell-phone service while vacationing. About a 3-5 days into our vacation, I was able to check e-mail and was surprised to see multiple e-mails requesting payment. I was unsure as to what I owed? I thought maybe there was confusion with doing the dripline irrigation thus I tried e-mail and it would not go through. I called the office during normal business hours requesting clarification and received a professional answering service instead. A couple of days later, I was able to access e-mail again and was shocked to see the e-mails had turned somewhat nasty and they even threatened collection! Well it appears I should have been more diligent when I received the estimate. The 2nd section was bunched in with the $899 Angie's List Deal and there was no separation between the Angie's List Deal and the extra 2nd section of the estimate. I think Wilson Landscaping could have done a much better job a segregating the estimate to what is part of the Angie's List Deal and what is truly extra. I too, could have been more diligent and not make so many assumptions. When I returned home, I paid the additional costs of $2581, but I felt like Wilson Landscape acted unprofessionally and could have done a much better job at clarifying they cost of the project. If you buy an Angie's List deal, just stick to the deal and no extras! In all, I spent $3481 and I do not think I got a great deal. We have to landscape the backyard flowerbeds next and I will be looking elsewhere.

It worked out very well. I even purchased another big deal from them. They picked up leaves and brush. They also did some hedge trimming, but I don’t think they trimmed the bushed all that healthily. They were able to come out pretty quickly after I bought the Big Deal.

Went great - this is the 2nd year we've used this company to do sort of a "spring clean-up" in the yard. The guys are very nice, punctual, professional - they do a great job of cleaning up afterwards!

They were advertised on your big deal. I called them and asked them to come out. The owner came out, told me how busy he was and said he would get back to me. I told him I was in no hurry. Well he must have taken me literally, because I have no heard from him again. I have emailed him and he still does not respond. I called them directly from the Big deal email. Mr. Wilson came to my house and said he would get back to me about doing a landscape plan. Never heard from him.

Were not able to schedule in timely fashion.

That turned out fine. It was slow getting back to me with the plans though. They did what they said they were going to do.That design was for the front and back of the house.

Great, they do good work and work hard.

I've used Wilson's before for similar services so I was not present during the visit, however the work was done well and was timely. I used the online scheduler which was helpful.

They were great! Friendly and checked off everything I asked them to do.

We had to reschedule with them couple of times. We planned to use them for fencing work; but we could not come up with a decision with how we wanted it layout. We then just used them for landscaping and cleaning. They did outstanding work and everything was fine. They honored the deal since I called them before the deal expired.

They helped me with some design services that I was interested in. That was good, but I did not have them do the job.

The estimate was okay and we are still trying to figure out the work to be done. I did have a hard time getting in touch with them initially.

I scheduled an appointment and told him what I needed done. He said he could handle that and would get started. We scheduled a start day and time and he never showed up and did not have the courtesy to call and cancel. Will never call this guy again -very unprofessional

I have small courtyard in townhouse I just purchased that had dead ground cover and leaf build up. I needed them to just remove the ground cover entirely and leaves and trim the shrubs. The courtyard is fairly small, but the ground cover was a mess. Previous owner planted viney ground cover over partial rock bed, and pulling up was not an easy task. There was a little snag with scheduling, but the professionalism and work performed more than made up for it! Staff was courteous and really did a great job! Would recommend!

Approximately 20 plants were suggested in a very vague design (value $2,000.00, he says) over-priced, as I see it.

It was great. They were wonderful. I had the design already done so they just put the plants in. The big deal price covered everything.

It was hard to get the service scheduled. I had to call them back and they sent another crew out and resolved everything well. I would use them again. They sent 4 people out to do the job. They got the job done in about 3 hours.

It was just fine. It was good.

Went fantastic. The two guys they sent out were super nice, professional, courteous and very hard workers!

10/30/14 update: After 8 months or so, they still have not replaced the 3 dead shrubs after I have left them several messages. I either get excuses why they can't come out and look at them first, or they ignore my messages. I even said I'd re-plant them if they would just drop off the replacements. Still no answer. I doubt I'll be using them again.

John did a good job but was a little tardy in completing the project and was rushed in the end when I requested the sod to get put down prior to a weekend gathering. This cause the sod not be uniformly level and it didn't take as well as it should have. The hardscape was good.

They did a good job with the service. I scheduled everything with them online. This was the second time I used them and no one spoke English and the first time one person did so that was a little difficult to work with on the second visit.

The crew went over and beyond and exeeded my expectations. Will use them again!

I have been trying to schedule this since I purchased the deal. Every time we communicate, he says it will be a week or two out. I’ve asked him to call me more than once; he will not answer the phone. He finally said he would be available any day the week of 6/2/14 and he would call me on that day, no call, I called him and he will not answer the phone, due to being in the field I assume. I am only asking for a simple phone call. All of the communication has been done through email. I am requesting refund.
