I called based on Angies list reviews for lawn mowing service. Pedro quoted me a price for weekly mowing throughout the season. So far service has been timely, quality and a good value. We have also used Pedro for some tree and brush trimming and his folks did a good job!

Don't call the first 10 businesses listed in Angie's list.

I contacted Mr. Arenas last Thursday. I wanted to get a quote for having the Nandina on one entire side of my home removed and having my lawn mowed. He was supposed to meet me at my home around 6pm. He didn't show. So I called and left a message thinking I got my wires crossed. He called me back about 2 1/2 hours later and told me he got busy. He told me he would be in my area on Friday; would look at the yard and the Nandinas and give me a call. He never called.

Only Universal responded, and they responded same day by phone, scheduled a visit two days later and completed the work 2 days after that.....fast, fast, fast. The quote was fairly priced, the work was done professionally and per the quote, and we decided to to continue to use them for weekly maintenance. Really appreciate Pedro's quick response, willingness to meet on a Sunday to give the estimate and his ability to fit us in so quickly. Very happy.

I was so glad I chose this company to service my lawn. They were very quick, and cheap!! They are also very laid back. I pay them $50 a month and if I need anything extra they do it for cheap too. A month ago I had them till up two flower beds for me. They even hand picked all the weeds out and sprayed weed killer. A few days later I was able to put flowers in and I haven't seen any weeds yet. Pedro and Edger both service my lawn every two weeks. I started using them two or three months ago. I contacted Pedro about setting up regular service and they came and mowed my lawn about three hours later. I didn't even have to pay on the spot. He was like "pay us next time." I like their service because it is very laid back. No bills, no calling me asking for money. I simply write him a check for $50 every month when he comes around and if we miss each other I just write him a new one next time I see him-its really no big deal to them if they go two or three services without getting paid. They also offer weed treatment which was $30 for my yard each application (six times per year). Alibi's: They need to sharpen their blades though. Occasionally I have to pick some pieces up that the mower missed. And if you are eligible for the Angie's List special, you have to remind them each 5th mow is free.

Talk about service! I am thoroughly impressed by this company's responsiveness and speed of service. Wow! I just moved into my new house in Flower Mound this past Wednesday. Since then, I have been busy unpacking. Needless to say, I am tired and strapped for time to get my lawn done so I took a shot in the dark calling around to see if anyone could do my yard today. Crazy right? Calling on a Saturday and requesting same-day service is absurd but I was desperate. I called a total of 12 different companies on Angie's List before giving up. Some companies were closed, others said they only did lawns during the week, but not this company. Initially I had to leave a message with Universal Lawn Care but my phone call was returned within 15 minutes. I explained to Pedro Arenas my issue, that I needed lawn care today since the sellers of the house failed to do the last mow, and he said "no problem." He told me that he could be at my house within an hour and he was right. He showed up within the hour with a crew of three (3). The crew did my yard at a blazing fast pace and they did a great job. I am totally impressed and will only use this company for my future needs. Pedro and Universal delivered and now they have a lifelong customer because of the way they handled my needs. I would highly recommend this company to anyone! Plus, only $32 to mow, edge, and clean up a quarter of an acre, that's a great price!

Pedro and Edgar are very kind and professional. They understood exactly what I wanted to have done. Their crew did a great job, and the work was done efficiently. I have since hired them for lawn maintenance.

These guys are great! Not only do they regularly maintain my lawn, they recently took out several china berry trees in my back yard. They were fast and very mindful of the rest of the trees in the area. There was no damage to the other trees and my back yard is getting the right amount of sunlight. Pedro and his team are always professional, courteous, and helpful. Many thanks for perfect service!

Pedro came by and gave me an estimate on Thursday--they completed the job on Monday. I was very pleased. He brought a hard-working crew with him and they completed the job in short order. The shrubs are 100% improved. I have requested additional estimates for more work and hope to be hiring them again soon.

UPDATE: I was very impressed that after writing my initial review Universal came back out to my house and offered to fix any areas of concern for free. He also explained that the intention on the time slot was supposed to be anytime before noon but that there was a miscommunication. I suggested that from now on he give his customers an actual time slot such as between 8am and 12pm so that his customers will know exactly what to expect. We agreed that instead of re-mowing the lawn for free (which doesn't really need it right now) I would call for an appointment and pay him for his services as a second chance. After that time I will completely update the review here. They were quick to respond and came out with an estimate the same day we called. On the positive they did call and confirm our appointment the evening before for noon. Unfortunately they showed up at 9:30am when my ill husband was still sleeping. I have to say that all the grass was in fact mowed but so very quickly that there are a lot of spots where the grass was just run over instead of mowed down. Most of the areas were edged but they missed several spots including around my dog kennel and against the back fence. While they did have someone blowing grass off of surfaces they didn't blow my back patio off at all and it is completely covered in grass. I will probably move on to someone else.

Excellent, high quality work. Pedro and his team arrived on schedule and completed the work quickly. I had scheduled an outdoor party for the weekend, so I asked for the work with just a week or so of lead time. Pedro came out and gave me an estimate and performed the work as he said he would. I will definitely call them again.

I have been using Universal lawn Care since about March of this year. I have found Pedro and his crew to be extremely efficient and neat. I have close to two acres that they mow and trim. Pedro and his crew come out every other week. What I like about Pedro is that he is very flexible. I told him at the beginning that I don't necessarily have to have everything done at once, with the exception of the mowing. This has been great because since we have had very little rain this summer, Pedro and his crew have shifted their focus from mowing the lawn to doing the trim work (of which there is a lot around our house). The Universal Lawn Care crew has been excellent. I just let Pedro know where I would need him to focus, and he responds by doing a great job. I think he is very reasonable price-wise, and does very good quality work. If there's something you feel needs more attention, don't hesitate to let Pedro know...he's very co-operative and responsive. Highly recommended!

They come early, get the job done very efficiently.

Very well, was not home, and there were so many items, a couple were missed. But the owner came by to check on satisfaction with job and asked specifically if they missed anything, came back to correct over sights.

Completed the work in less than 2 hours (2 pallets of sod). Pedro's team were quick and did a great job, clean up was excellent also. His price was reasonable. Very easy to work with Pedro, I would definitely use him again. In fact I had his team take over my yard work service - mowing, edging, weed eating, lean-up. His team does an excellent job, I will keep him as my lawn work provider.

The company acted quickly. I requested a single mow for a 7,500 sf lot single family residence in Coppell. I wanted to try their service once before hiring them on an ongoing basis. The price was cheap, but the work was shoddy, with clippings everywhere, no sweeping, and lots of leaves left over that were not bagged. It looked kind of like a lawnmower came through on a tornado. They even ran the mower through the beds instead of actually weeding. They missed some spots with the weedeater along the fence. I think they were in and out in about 10 minutes. Since I do not live at this residence, I was surprised to find out that they came back the following 2 weeks in a row and mowed even though I did not request it. Because the work had already been done, I went ahead and paid Pedro $90 for 3x$30 mowing and asked them not to come back. I wanted an inexpensive, decent job, but this was just too sloppy. If you need the cheapest mow in town and aren't concerned about looks, this is probably a good company for you.

Fantastic team!!! The Universal Lawn care team were extremely responsive. I had contacted a couple of lawn care companies, since my previous lawn care company disappeared without notice, but they were too busy to respond. The Universal team came home right on time, did a quick assessment of the yard and were able to engage on the work the very next day. The price point was also very reasonable. They are diligent with the yard, and left it clean and well manicured at the end of the job. I also have a few trees around the house hence it is a constant mess, they did a fantastic job of cleaning all the twigs and debris. I also have mention the care they have taken while cleaning the yard; because my previous lawn care company - in their ultimate efficiency (being sarcastic) used to often blow or rake some of the plants in the yard; the Universal team has been very careful with the plants as well as my vegetable patch. I would strongly recommend them to future clients, and I have them now on a monthly contract after the initial job.

We had Pedro re-sod our back yard and one side of our front lawn. His bid (one of three) was the best for the work which included Zoysia grass sod. Due to inclement weather, they arrived a day after expected but they worked so efficiently and quickly that it wasn't a concern. During the job, we decided to have a few areas mulched and add some edging and Pedro immediately went to get the supplies. His team finished everything just after noon. They tested the sprinklers after the job was complete to assure there were no problems and cleaned up everything leaving our walkways and driveway almost sparkling. We are extremely pleased all around with no complaints at all. We've decided to have them maintain our lawn weekly. Also, the 10% senior discount was an added bonus.
