Description of Work: They were still called Lewisville Heating an A/C when I used them. They were in the process of being acquired by Frost. I'm not sure if the ownership change/change in name has impacted their service quality. | |They replaced all the ducts in the attic, installed a new plenum, enlarged 3 vents to accommodate new duct configuration. They checked the airflow from all the vents, an used the dampers as needed to get everything right. | |The service was performed in a timely manner, and has added better airflow through my house. The duct material is far more efficient than what was previously installed. The custom configuration and proper air flow was customized to my needs and floor plan.

Description of Work: 4/28/2015 Heat pump not coming on. Technician arrived on time. Used voltmeter to test attic unit and outside unit. Said circuit board at outside unit was bad and cost to replace was $817. Option to replace entire outside unit was $3,515. Option to replace complete A/C inside and outside was $7,100. Left without any repairs. | |An hour later North Texas HVAC had A/C working by adding freon. Cost $119. A week later it stopped again. North Texas came out again, replaced 2 large capacitors added a little more freon and it is still working as of 6/2/2015 with the "bad" circuit board. Second trip cost $230.

I've been using Frost Brothers for several years now and wouldn't imagine using anyone else. They've always been on time, easy to schedule and professional. Called Frost Brothers of Lewisville for an appointment on Wednesday morning and was worked in that afternoon. The job was to see if they could resolve our on going problem with our Heating unit since last winter. We moved into this new residence last May and found out during the cold months the unit was not operating properly. You could say we limped through last winter trying to get an idea as to what might be transpiring. The temperature on Wednesday was only 30's with a forecast of colder weather coming. Technician Aaron showed up as scheduled and listened to my concern with the Heating unit. He then diagnosed the problem and made the repair in a very timely manner. I had Aaron go over what he discovered and how the problem played into the symptoms we were experiencing. He explained it in a very professional way and showed a lot of concern making sure we felt like the problem was not going to come back. I could tell Aaron was the type of technician I wanted to use in the future. Its hard to find a company that has someone that shows as much concern and honesty in their work as Aaron did. He only serviced what was required to make the repair and did not try to push un-needed repairs onto us which you hear a lot of. Thank you Frost Brothers for setting a high standard for your technicians which sells well for your company. Would use them again and also will refer them to family members and friends.

My A/C died. Called owner late Sunday night based on referral from a friend. Johnnie arrived promptly the next day as scheduled. He inspected my system and found that the capacitor was blown. He gave me an estimate to replace the part and then we discussed replacing the system because I already knew that it had several issues including age. Johnnie gave me a quote for a new system during which we discussed multiple options. I chose to replace the system. Johnnie replaced the capacitor to get the A/C running again for the night. However, after he left I realized the fan was blowing hot air. Johnnie sent a service technician to my house who arrived in less than an hour. The technician found the electrical switch to the compressor was fried. He rerouted the wiring and the A/C was running again. Johnnie and his crew arrived as scheduled Monday morning to replace the system. The workers were professional and considerate of me and my pets in the house. A new 16 seer 2-step HVAC system was installed complete with new ducts. They also installed a new programmable thermostat and carbon monoxide detector. They cleaned all my air duct vents and then cleaned up the work area when done. My old unit and ducts were hauled away except for the furnace which I asked them to leave. I was very pleased with the work performed. Johnnie returned on Thursday to meet the city inspector. The system passed inspection and I paid the company at this time.

We worked with Johnny Frost to extend our knowledge about geothermal through several meetings. He provided us several options - to include the continued use of our heat pump with improvement to the duct work, a new electrical HVAC system or geothermal. He explained the benefits of each option, provided the statistical information for all options and gave us solid information and prices. Our initial intent was to convert to geothermal, but he provided several additional options at different costs for our review, so that we had all the information we needed to make a good decision. We went with the geothermal system - at a little higher cost than the two previous bids - but felt confident with the knowledge base that the Frost company held. Additionally, Frost offers a maintenance plan (labor and materials) at a VERY reasonable price. We are thankful that we chose Frost over the other two companies - even though the others were represented by 'engineers'. Frost knows his business about HVAC. They removed the old system and duct work, installed the geothermal system without flaw, drywalled and repaired the areas where the old system had been and left the whole area clean. They were responsive, professional, friendly and honestly concerned about providing the best service possible.

It delayed work for another 4 weeks and mind you…. It was on the 30th straight day of temperatures over 100. I had to get another air conditioner contractor, and now I have a cool home.
Description of Work: Called up Frost Brothers and was totally impressed with their overall friendliness, and spoke to them about the insurance claim that I had and they said no problem they would be sending out the one and only service manager to give me a quote. He came out and was very professional and I again reminded him about the fact that this was an insurance claim and insurance companies can be somewhat difficult to work with. He stated that he was used to dealing with them all of the time and even mentioned some prior situations he worked with the insurance companies, so once again I was impressed. He gave me a very in-depth report, I was impressed. I choose to go with Frost Brothers to do the work, based on all of that information and professionalism. The insurance company called him (Frost Brothers Service Manager) and had some questions. I received a call from the insurance company stating he totally went ballistic on them and they had to end the conversation, so I called the insurance company back and 3wayed the call with the service manager (one that went ballistic on them) and spoke with the same insurance agent. Got them all calmed down, and Frost Brothers Service Manager agreed to do some prior work which would be paid for prior to completing the work. He agreed. The conversation ended. 30mins later I received a call from the insurance company stating the service manager called back and refused to do the work, so I had to find another air conditioner company in a hurry. This guy is a Dr. Jackal and Mr. Hide when it comes to people, and will leave you standing there holding the bag and have an insurance adjuster totally furious with you, and you will have to find out about it from someone else that they broke their agreement and refused to do the work.

The first call was Friday night at 9:00. The tech came when promised and was thorough. He did not have the fan part to replace but he was able to get the unit going by replacing the capacitor. We were pleased with this guy. He made an appointment for the fan replacement on the following Monday at 1:00. I was home at the time of the appt and waited all afternoon. Apparently the tech came and left a card on the door but did not call or knock, because there was no message on the phone and I would have heard the dogs bark if he had knocked. So we didn't get the fan replaced until Tuesday. Overall, they were clear in their description of the problem and why the fan should be replaced. They were expensive but probably not more than another company. The final bill was exactly what they said. We have had no problems with the unit since then.
