Description of Work: We purchased new flooring from Design Floors. Tommy Royal was the salesman that sold the product/job. His initial responses prior to us making the choice to use them was very timely, taking our calls immediately, returning calls promptly. However, once we made the decision to use Design Floors, Tommy, it appeared, no longer felt the need to communicate with us, and to make matters worse - for us-, he went on vacation. I will say, as soon as the job was done, he promptly jumped on the phone to call us for immediate payment on the remaining balance! All of this would have warranted an F rating, however, the installer - Ray - went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations, hence jumping the rating to a B. I would recommend Ray to anyone and feel confident you'd have the best flooring installer in all of the DFW area. We left him and his wife with our house for a week and they took the care they would take with their own home. By the way, Tommy promised the job should take 4-5 days, which was another reason for us to choose Design Floors. However, when Ray showed up first thing Monday morning, he let us know right away it was going to be a 7-day job at least primarily because of the demo of our slate floors which is very time-consuming. The results provided by Ray were beyond expectations.

Description of Work: Totally redo on Master shower. Removed old wall board, fixtures and seat. Replaced all. Did a great job. Had them back later to retile master bath floor.

Description of Work: This was part of a redo needed in the bedroom and hall. Mary was very kind. She let me take home samples and look at them during the day and evening. There was a mix up on the total amount of product delivered but Mary made it right. When I do more floors I'm contacting her again.

Description of Work: I discovered Design Floors through one of the local advertising flyers that show up in my mail on a weekly basis. While I was out shopping for a flooring outfit, I went to their store in Lewisville. I was very impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I went in and told them what I was looking for. They showed me what they had. I ended up selecting a solid or "Strand" bamboo made by Johnson. You can view the flooring at http://www.jfloor.com/product/product_detail.jsp?fid=246&productId=280. The folks at Design Floors explained the different installation options, and the difference between a floating and glue-down application. I setup an appointment for them to come out and measure. They were right on time. They got the measurements they needed and we discussed a few trim options. After the measurements were done, they went back and within a day or so they emailed me a quote, which seemed very competitive. After reviewing at least five other quotes, I called Design Floors back and agreed to award the job to them. They placed the order and found out the flooring was on back-order for at least a month. Ugh. I agreed to wait. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait that long. Within a few weeks, the supplies were in stock. I wrote a check for 50% up-front. I've been burned by this in the past, but I figure if they have a store front, it would be okay. Within a week, the flooring was delivered to my home Friday afternoon to acclimate to our environment. We did have a slight mix-up on the delivery date, but I was home either day so it worked out fine. On Monday morning the crew showed up to rip out the old floor and glue. What a mess, but they cleaned it up quickly. It was all gone by lunch time. I suspected we had some cracks in our concrete slab. Sure enough. Not a problem. They spread out some gew to level the floor. It dried over night. The next two days were spent installing the new bamboo flooring and trim. They worked out of the garage, so the mess was kept mostly outside. Once everything was done, they did a fantastic job on cleaning up.
