A-1 Guaranteed Foundation Repair

A-1 Foundation promptly replied and scheduled a very convenient appt. time. The service provider was on time, clean personable and very thorough.

A-1 was very prompt and knowledgeable. Walked me through the every step of the process and explained what they were doing and why. Provided a detailed map of the house and what we needed to do to keep the house structurally sound.

I had them double check a warrantied inspection I had done by a previous foundation company. They agreed with the findings of the other company and were very friendly and helpful.

He showed us where the house was shifting and drew a diagram showing the points and how far. The inside and outside were checked. We later received a watering plan via email. He instructed us to call them back after a few months of watering to follow up and see where things we. We still have yet to set up the watering lines, but it was very good to know where we were since we are new homeowners.

Our house already has 11 piers on one side. Kevin came out and was very thorough explaining to me what the piers themselves were already doing and how the ground was shift and why and how it was all effecting my foundation. He is so awesome! Very nice, professional, and you can tell he know what he's talking about and cares about his job and the homes of the people he goes to. He does not recommend unnecessary repairs and makes sure you understand how everything works. I was so happy with the service provided from him and all the other people I was in contact with through A1. This company shows honesty and integrity.

We have not had the best of luck with consistent quality or integrity from Angie's List providers therefore, I was skeptical as to how our experience would be with A1. Steve Greenhill quickly gave me confidence based on the little things such as calling when he was on his way to check-in and confirm his arrival time, and arriving on time. He was professional and took the time to explain what he was doing each step of the way. Once he completed his inspection and his measurements, he walked me through each variance in the slope/height of our foundation and thoroughly covered each of my questions. I would highly recommend this company and Steve.

Overwhelmingly professional. Highly recommended. It's what you'd expect of the best of the best of Angie's list. The work crew and job foreman showed up when expected. The job foreman introduced himself and then walked me thru what work they'd be doing that day. The work crew was hardworking and polite. The foreman kept me updated continually throughout the 5 hour job. On several occasions during the job he would review with me the status (of both the work project and my foundation), indicating the degree of adjustments made to the foundation and that he'll continually monitor it carefully as they make further adjustments. Extra caution was given to ensure that existing walls/drywall were not adversely impacted by their efforts to lift the sagging foundation side. He communicated the steps and distances they'd adjusted the foundation with careful attention to house beams and water pipes. Throughout the day, I would make several visits outside to check progress. Each time, the foreman would instinctively approach to provide me an update and inquire if I had any questions. Also admirable...the foreman was not a figurehead. By day's end he was just as muddy as the others. He is definitely an expert at this and was hands on, while at the same time, very effectively, managing the work crew. As a result of their excavation to install piers to fix my foundation, there was excess soil. The foreman pointed to areas of my foundation on other parts of the house that lacked sufficient soil. He asked if i'd like his crew to fill the low spots with the excess soil - I readily agreed and it was promptly done. I can honestly tell you they left my yard, driveway and garage much cleaner than the way they found it when they arrived.

The initial call and scheduling went great. The price is one of the lower ones I was able to find. I chose them because of price and their rating here on Angies List. The guy who initially came out and took measurements and spoke with me was very professional and courteous. The lady that answers their phone is great. She is super nice and easy to work with, I liked working with her. The foundation work was done as they said. An independent engineer company verified the work. So all of that was as promised. The only thing that was dissatisfying was the workers attention to detail and care for the customer. I believe I was told they would arrive between 8 and 8:30 but they actually got there at 9:15. Not a big deal really. Second was they were in my front yard hosing off with my water hose when they finished. I was never asked about this, I don't mind but to be asked would have been nice. The next day though my front yard was flooded. The same outdoor faucet they were using to hose off with had been broken and was spraying water out. I would have liked to have someone be upfront and just tell me the faucet had been broke and they apologize and I fix it rather than finding my front yard flooded. So I fixed that. The bushes they put back were close to the same spot which is acceptable. However some of them were tilted forward and others were crooked and not facing the street straight on. It appears they just took note where they went and then planted them back in the same spot without care to line them up correctly. Lastly, they did not put any mortar in the cracks as they said they would. I originally thought they just missed a crack or two but when I walked the front of my house I can see they did not fill any mortar cracks. The workers themselves clearly are trying to finish the job as quick as possible and move to the next. Easily fixed by having a supervisor over them that shares the companies values and beliefs that can inspect the job at finish and ensure that the workers are meeting quality expectations. Other than those minor but numerous imperfections this company was great. The actually foundation work was spot on. I would probably use them again, given that the foundation work was done correctly and the customer service was great. I would just be more of a stickler about asking them to pay more attention to the finer details.

Great! I was skeptical of the whole process but Mario was very attentive and provided pictures and explanations every step of the way. We couldn't believe they got it all done in 8 hours and cleaned up everything afterwards. They did what they said they would do. We were very impressed with the crews (2 crews). Nothing was broken inside or out. Highly recommend them!

The company was very professional. The communication was excellent. A downpour prevented the crew for doing the work on the originally scheduled day, but I received a phone call in advance letting me know this, and A1 got me on the calendar soon thereafter. The inspection and repair went very smoothly. They did not try to pressure me into additional work.

Kevin Proctor performed a foundation inspection. The reason I had become worried and wanted an inspection was because of a hole in the ground of the crawlspace near the foundation that was about a foot in diameter and about a foot deep. I was very impressed with Kevin. He showed good knowledge of foundation issues and was able to communicate these issues to me and that he was forthright in what was good about the structural integrity of the house and what may need attention in the future even thought it was not an immediate concern now. Fortunately, the hole was not a foundation problem. Kevin's opinion was that it was a nearby tree (actually a Youpon Holly) that had been removed and the shrinkage of the roots and associated plant matter was causing the nearby dirt to sink in and replace it. Kevin did a full elevation profile of the house indoors, checked whether the tops of doors were level, checked the exterior of the house, and went into the crawlspace to check out the pier and beam structure down there. In addition to the hole, I was also a little concerned about the degree of moisture around some edges of the crawlspace. Again, he told me this was nothing to worry about and in fact it was better than many homes given the huge amount of rain recently. Ultimately, Kevin emailed me the elevation profile etc after his visit and listed a few things that could be attended to in the future even though he expressed they were not immediate concerns now.

They came out when we scheduled the inspection. Then we scheduled the foundation repair this year. It was great. They explained everything. They have a very good review sao I decided to go with them. I compared them with other people, they're pretty good. Their price is good so I decided to go with them.

This company was so very accommodating. The inspector was here 2.5 hours, inspected and graphed the entire house and garages. They are very customer service friendly. I would not hesitate to use them again!

The technician was extremely honest. When I purchased the service, I anticipated that I would get a big sales pitch at the end telling me that I needed foundation work no matter the condition. Instead he showed me the drawing he did, and he explained what the elevations were. Despite the fact that the foundation had fallen some and the fact that I had a visible foundation breakage, he said that he wouldn't not recommend making any repairs. In fact, he said he wouldn't repair it because he didn't think anything was wrong. I appreciated his honesty, and I would definitely hire the company again if I have problems.

Kevin Proctor was very professional. Gave us a drawing of the house plan with measurements at all the corners for future reference. He provided his suggestions for future foundation maintenence.

It went awesome, I had A-1 foundation come out to my personal home and quote me they gave an honest and fair price compared to the rip off companies that I also had come out and do quotes for me. I can certainly sit down and be able to breath when I know I have A-1 Foundation on my side. I'm a realtor so I have them come out to all my clients homes because A-1 Foundation is the only company I trust. Jeff is who I initial worked with in the pass, but today I met Kevin and he is awesome, he definely knows foundation and definitely has been doing his home work when it comes to educating his clients about their foundation. This was a complete waste of money. We have a pier and beam 1950's home. The company came out and told us everything looked great with our foundation, took our check and left. However, we literally had two beams that had moved completely off the concrete footings that the company either missed or failed to tell us about. Not good.

Great! Steve called and arrived before the appointment time. Was professional and friendly took about an hour and was very thorough. Gave good news that all looked good and detailed a watering plan to help keep things that way. It seems like an offer such as this is a perfect opportunity for a company to take advantage of people-so it's nice to see that this company is honest enough to say "You don;t need us to do anything else!" It is their Guarantee that, should I have need of their services, I will be calling them back. Thank you

He was on time, courteous, and spent a lot of time checking out the foundation. He delivered a thorough report. We are evaluating several vendors, and will make a selection in the next few weeks.

That was great. We waited a few months. They originally came in January and the work was completed in March. They were very diligent in their work. They took all the engineering proportions that they needed to.
