All-in-all, they did a great job - however I wish their plumbing work was a little cleaner - felt like they cut corners on the installation for speed rather then having a neat collection of pipes in my heater closet.

We had a great experience with Mr. Tankless. Bob and his colleague showed up when they said they would to do the initial diagnostics and were very open and honest about the problems we were experiencing with our old tankless water heater. He returned promptly on the scheduled install day and was in and out within four hours. We love our new water heater and are very happy with Mr. Tankless's work.

Owner was prompt in coming over and giving an estimate. At time of estimate, I asked about making sure all permits were pulled and inspections done to city code. I needed the permit in order to qualify for rebates offered by the city and I like to have someone check over gas work. Also, the tankless is in the attic, so I didn't want leaks. After the work was done, we paid and later that day I asked about the permit. Big red flag, he needed to go done to the city to get one. He seemed annoyed. I asked about an inspection and he indicated that everything was all set. Now, a year later, we are having our bath remodeled and find out that the permit was never closed since there was no inspection. We had an inspection and it failed miserably. Wrong connections. Stressed pipes, etc... So, we attempted to contact him and had a hard time getting callbacks. Took several weeks, etc to get him to come fix the issues. Took several hours to fix. I was stunned when he actually made a point to say that there would be no charge. Seriously ? Not very professional and obviously cut corners...

Made the call and withone one day, Bob Lemmons came out and did the work. He also fixed an outside faucet for free that was leaking. Great service. Will use him again.
Description of Work: Replaced a recirculating pump on a hot water system. Added one with a timer to save electricity. Bob installed an eternity hot water system on our house one year ago. Did a great job for much less money than other Austin plumbers. During the install, Bob's electrician found out that our old system was improperly wired. That is why we were replacing hot water tanks every four years. I thought it was the hard water, but it was the 110 instead of 220 on the electrical connection.

Description of Work: Bob was hired by our GC to move a toilet 17 inches. And lay drain pipe for a tub. He poked holes in existing pvc pipe and then demanded more money before he'd finish. He quit half way thru the jackhammering - leaving concrete dust to engulf our home. He showed up demanding full payment from my husband the next week. We paid him.

While Bob Lemmons and his crew arrived on time they jumped into the work so fast that they did not take time to listen to me, the client. Bob seemed to have forgotten much of what we had discussed about the work when he gave me the estimate. The work was sloppy, rushed and they tried to cut every corner possible. When I tried to express my concerns about the work, they argued and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I hired another company to send out a Master Plumber for a diagnostic call ($57). ABC Home and Commercial Services was timely, honest and considerate. With the diagnostic list they provided my husband was able to knowledgably request that Bob Lemmons and his crew finish the job as needed and within International Code standards. Among the many things he cut, he did not install a condensate loop in the tankless water heater vent--this VIOLATES the WARRANTY of the heater. And now our roof is leaking where the supposedly experienced roofer that works for Bob Lemmons punched the vent. The gas line in the kitchen for the stove will need to be rerouted and we don't trust any of the work this guy and his crew did. I would never hire him again and I would never ever recommend him. If you are considering installing a tankless water heater, contact the manufacturer for a list of qualified service providers. I got this guy's name off of the Rinnai website only to discover later that they do not screen the dealers listed on their site. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED. He cuts corners to save himself--not you--money. He did stick to the price on the estimate and he was fast. Too fast.

Response from Mr Tankless
Again I'm sorry for not visiting this site sooner. Yes this gentleman's gas cable did break and caused a slight inconvenience , but on a old house with a real old gas meter these things happen from time to time. A plumbing permit and inspection were completed in a timely fashion. The items the inspector flagged were really small and were also completed within 15 minutes. Plumbing permits are obtained on my installs. Payments are generally required before the projects begin a deposit for materials and then the remaining upon completion. The job was completed and we needed to wait for the gas company to show up. This could have been several hours. Instead we needed to go to their appts and there was nothing to do about it. The heater would work when gas was provided, which it did. Again I'm truly sorry for their bad experience

We contacted Mr. Tankless one evening and got an immediate response the next morning. Bob was out later that afternoon to quote on the job. Got a quote in writing, and was pleased with his explanation of work to be done, etc. When work started, he arrived on time, with a crew of 4. The work progressed rapidly, and I was very satisfied with the quality of work they did. My problems started when it was time to turn the gas back on at the meter. The valve was stuck and required the gas company to come out to service the meter. I was asked to postpone calling the gas company while Bob went downtown to get a permit he should have had at the start of the work. Bob expected payment, guaranteeing the system worked, despite the fact the gas wasn?t on, and as he left, I sat at home on a cold afternoon with no heat and no hot water. I refused to pay until the gas was turned back on. When the gas company arrived, I was fortunate to get my gas turned on since I had not had a city inspection ? something else Bob had failed to tell me or arrange to have completed. This put me in a very awkward situation and was fortunate the gas company was reasonable and did not leave me without heat that night. Bob then wanted payment despite the fact the system had not passed inspection. Again, I refused to pay until the 3 issues the inspector found were addressed. Minor, but nonetheless in my opinion, things that should have been addressed from the start. It is unfortunate I am writing this negative review because the work, punctuality was great. Bob definitely has the right crew and experience for tankless water heater installation. However, I consider the request for payment before work complete & lack of communication on the license & inspection (which I?m not sure we would have gotten had the valve not been stuck) show stoppers in my book.

Response from Mr Tankless
I understand this seems I have never visited this site before. I do however remember this project. The customer hired me to install a tankless water heater and a few other plumbing projects. The installation of the tankless water heater went fine. The plumbing company sent to inspect my work was from my main competitor. The condensation drain was not required due to the fact the vent was under 5' per the manufacturer specs. There was a project overlooked but was promptly completed at not extra cost. I'm sorry this customer thought they had a bad experience but if you visit my site, I do have plenty satisfied customers

An install date was set, the installers arrived on time and within 2 hours had removed my old water heater from the upstairs attic, and installed the new tankless system. All debris, including the old water heater was removed and carted away by the install team. These guys specialize in tankless systems and know how to do it properly. There are a lot of plumbers, including the big service companies who advertise tankless installs but their prices are high and I found they do not have the level of experience the Mr. Tankless team have. I encourage anyone considering a tankless to compare installers. Have Fox, ARS, ABC and similar trot over for a discussion on tankless systems and give you a bid and then call Mr. Tankless. They will clearly stand out above the rest in their knowledge of the systems available, installation options AND price. Plus their workmanship is high quality. Oh, and don't forget tankless systems qualify for a federal tax rebate of 30%.
Description of Work: Replaced my standard water heater that had failed after less than two years. Provided a detailed review of the available tankless products for installation and offered their professional preferences but left the final decision up to me. I went with their recommendaton, a Rennai LS.
