Awful experience. I had to chase them around 10 times. After not coming the first day as promised (not even a call) the second day the technician was late 3 hours. He came for a few minutes and gave a vague estimate that didn't include the faucet connection. I asked for a detailed estimate in order to make sure the minimum requirements were met. He went out while I was calling my wife to consult with her and he never came back or called. Third day morning, after many calls, I was quoted $225 for sink strainers and $180 for connecting the hot water to the already installed faucet.

I called these guys to come out and take care of some leaky drain pipes in my second story bathroom. They were not properly installed by the previous home owner or whoever they had out to do the work. After about 5 minutes checking it out, the plumber went out to his truck to call it into the office. He would not be able to do the work today in the timeframe they had available, so they needed to reschedule it. When he came back in, he told me they did not want to do the work and did not want to provide an estimate. I was a little surprised, but I get it. The pipes are in a weird location about 10ft off the ground over my back patio. I called around and found someone else out to bid it out. Honestly, it was going to cost much more than I thought. So how is this related to MacLin? The initial sticker shock hit me hard enough to warrant a review of my home warranty. We just bought the house 6 months prior. After reading the fine print and details of the warranty, I found it was covered! I submitted the service request right away. Guess who it automagically got assigned to? You guessed it, MacLin. The same guy that came out and told me they didn't want to give me a bid came out again. After about two minutes of him being a jerk to me in my own home, he left. I waited a week then checked out the status online through the home warranty company website. The ticket said it was Complete, but no work was done! They submitted the response to AHS saying the work was not covered even though it was. After several rounds of MacLin not responding to my calls or any communications from the home warranty company, I learned the warranty company had authorized MacLin to do the work. I called MacLin to schedule someone to come out and was greeted by someone who was extremely rude, combative, talking down to me, straight up lying and outright unprofessional on many levels. He ultimately said the work had not been authorized yet. After diffusing the situation, we agreed I would call into AHS and find out the status, then call them back with the findings and try again on the reschedule. This next bit is crazy. As I was waiting on hold, the person I had just spoken to from MacLin called into the contractors line and bumped up the estimate! I couldn't believe it. It's like they think customer service can't see dates or times on when this stuff happens! The estimate to do the work had changed literally 5 minutes before I got connected with the customer service rep. This fired off another chain of events from the warranty company side starting with a different contractor coming out for a second opinion. Here's where this saga with MacLin ends. MacLin did not do the work. As such, I can not fairly rate them on the quality of their craftsmanship or their prices. I suggest anyone reading this should fully do the research on multiple social media sites and don't be fooled by the "blank" or "no comment" reviews on Angie's List giving them "A" ratings.

I called and left a message. They returned call and we set up an appointment with a 2 hour window. Waited. Nothing. No visit, no call, nothing. Called them approximately 45 minutes after window closed. Was told we were next on the list and that the tech was running behind. Waited. Nothing. Left a message today that has yet to be returned. It's too bad because when they were out a couple of years ago they were really prompt and good. Have no idea what happened between then and now.

Quick and easy. Not complicated but will use them for any other plumbing needs.

Update: James eventually sent out another tech, Jerry, to fix the problem. My upgrade is based solely on Jerry, who was professional and friendly. He had the drain fixed in five minutes, and apologized for the issue not being fixed the first time around, even though he was not the tech that came out earlier in the week. The drain is still clogged. When I contacted them to explain the problem wasn't resolved, James' only response was to call the warranty company, which I did, immediately. Instead of sending someone out today to do the repair that should have been done during the first visit, they aren't sending anyone out until the week's end. Terrible service and I wouldn't use them again.

We had arranged for this plumber to come out on a Saturday, they confirmed the time and date and never showed. We wasted half of our Saturday waiting for them. When my husband called on Monday morning to find out what happened the man that answered the phone was not apologetic, rude and confrontational. These people are not someone I would ever let in my home after the response we received.

I chose this company because of its positive reviews on Angies List. The technician, James, arrived at my house and I explained to him our plumbing issues. His immediate reaction was "oh I guess there was a miss communication [about what service we needed] with the dispatcher." I then started a discussion about our plumbing issues. James recommended a certain test. When I attempted to have a discussion with him about the plan and the reason behind it he became more visibly frustrated to which he said to me "Well, it sounds like you know more than me." I immediately told him that I would no longer need his services. After James left, I called the company and spoke with the dispatcher. After explaining my disappointing experience, the dispatcher proceeded to explain to me the rationale behind the plumbing work that James, the technician, had recommended. I rated this company very low because they demonstrated very poor customer service. I strongly believe that, as a customer, it is my right to know what is going to be done and to understand why. James, the technician, obviously did not feel the same way.

Garbage disposal started leaking due to age. Husband didn't really want to mess with it so I called MacLin Plumbing based on Angies List reviews and free estimate/service call. After being told it would be approximately $350 my husband decided he could do it. The technician understood our decision and proceeded to assist my husband on some tips and said we could call him if we ran into problems. That's professionalism and ethical work. Great to experience. Highly recommend.

Very Good. Excellent. Jerry Hamlin was very knowledgeable, thorough and professional in the work he performed. I will definitely use Macklin again and recommend them for all to use.

James was extremely courteous and on time. Every aspect of the water heater change-out was done cleanly and professionally. They provided prompt service and they made a call to check their work afterwards.

Matt quickly diagnosed our water problem, and was sensitive to our wishes to have this resovled as quick as possibly. The cost for repair was exactly within the range estimated. He and his team were prompt, professional, very neat, and explained in detail the demo and repair that had to be done, no surprises. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their expertise.

" However, they engaged in deceptive business practices, including false advertising about integrity. The original service went fine, except that they were late. they gave a verbal estimate for the clean out, and kept that. the problem came when they recommended fixing the sewer line. My personal assistant made all the arrangements, and then took the wrap up call originally, and got a $500 verbal quote for the additional, recommended work of fixing the PCV damaged by tree roots. My assistant asked the plumber to call me, and again I too received a $500 verbal quote for replacing the damaged PCV. I requested to receive a separate written estimate stating labor and materials. I was promised same. I authorized the plumber to use my credit card to pay the agreed price of $172 for the clean out. And I instructed the plumber to transmit the paid invoice for the clean out to my assistant, as well as the estimate for the follow on work. Then both I and my assistant compared notes as to the $500 quote, including the heads up that she should receive the paid invoice and the written follow on estimate. My credit card was ran the next morning for $172, paying the clean out in full. However, no paid invoice or any estimate was sent, despite being promised otherwise. My assistant didn't receive either paper until a follow up, some days later. When she did so, the estimate simply said $5500, not $500, and did not detail any labor or materials. She followed up, again, complaining about the misquote, and again requested labor and materials details. MacLin refused. My assistant terminated the call when the vendor got snarky, in her opinion. Neither I or my assistant initiated any further contact, as clearly I had decided that I would not do further business with them. A couple days past, and last night, my assistant received an unsolicited call from the original plumber, who in her opinion proceeded to harass my assistant over the claim of whether the plumber ever quoted $500. Again, there was no attempt to provide labor or materials in writing at any price. And my assistant again reported that she terminated the call with this plumber, who was way out of line in my assistant's opinion.

We needed a plumber stat because we had guests coming for the holidays and needed access to all our our bathrooms. One of them we hadn't been using because of some leaking issues.Matt arrived on time and I showed him our leak concerns. He diagnosed a couple of problems that we had, one that I wasn't even aware of. He reset a toilet, hence solving one of those issues. He told us the cause of the other problem which we have since had fixed. I was expecting a very expensive repair but turned out to be not bad at all. We also had a dishwasher that wasn't working properly. Matt diagnosed the problem, and it turned out to be an easy fix. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

Jerry was pleasant to deal with and experienced with our problem. He was punctual and worked quickly. In addition to the work he was hired for, he diagnosed an odor issue and reseated a toilet to solve it, without any charge. He minimized the disruption and left no mess There have been no problems with the work he performed. He honored our Angie's List coupon with enthusiasm. I feel confident in using his services again.

Although the tech arrived a few minutes late he was very efficient and fixed the toilet and a slow running sink drain very quickly and efficiently. Very pleasant.
