He was very professional and gave me a business card and started my mower for me so I was able to finish my yard. I have been using their services for about 2 years.

+ -1 moreThe job done by D & L Landscaping and Irrigation was excellent. Not only was the broken sprinkler head replaced, but a survey of all sprinklers indicated that another head needed to be replaced and a third one was stopped up and was cleaned out. In addition, I was given the choice between two system controllers by the same company as was used previously; therefore, I did not have to re-learn how to use the new controller. Work was completed immediately -- an approximate total of one full day.
Description of Work: Two things needed to be done. First, one of my sprinkler heads was broken, and water was shooting straight up. The second problem was that the controller for the sprinkler system was not always making proper contact when different options were chosen.

+ -1 moreBadly. I called them and was told a manager would call me back. It took two days for a man named Erasmus to return my call. We made an appointment for the next morning at around 10am, after a 9am appointment he had already made. He didn't show and didn't call. I called him about noon, and he said he'd have a guy over at 1pm. He didn't show either and didn't call. I texted Erasmus and told him to forget it; I'd find someone else. They were totally unprofessional. I don't know how they have obtained a super service award.
Description of Work: We wanted a sprinkler system installed on our property.

+ 4 moreEverything we have had D & L do was done correctly, on time and competitively priced. I can call Erasmo anytime and he is always quick to respond to anything we need. His work crews are all nice young guys and never seem to mind doing an occasional extra task when I ask them. (Note: I tip them accordingly, however.)
Description of Work: We have used D & L Landscaping (Erasmo Chavez, Owner) since 2006 ... they have done most of our landscape installation, all lawn and bed maintenance, and irrigation system install / maintenance.

He has also inspected and several times even helped perform the work! That to me has settled my search for any other landscape provider. I highly recommend and would not hesitate to hire Mr. Chaves and his team! In addition to the work performed, they have always been available to consult with me on future projects I am considering and provide tips that I can perform to help maintain the health of my yard as well as minimize my costs!

+ 1 moreIt took a while to get coordinated on a plan and a start date, but once things got going, all went well. There were a couple of small details that we asked Erasmo to come back and take care of, which he promptly handled. The additional job we asked him to do was completed very promptly. The entire job was well-done and looks very nice. Regarding the cost, we chose to purchase the rock ourselves, so the cost of service listed here did not include the rock.
Description of Work: Cleared area around swimming pool, put down weed blocking fabric, constructed limestone borders around the area, and spread crushed rock over the entire area. We had them come back for an additional job, to do limestone borders around some existing flowerbeds.

+ -1 moreIt's really surprising to me that I never heard back from them to get the landscape projects going. The contact I had with them was pleasant. Erasmo and his daughter both seemed so nice. I thought it would be a positive experience to work with them and I had planned on using their regular lawn service after the projects were done. I'd be willing to give them another shot if they'd ever return my calls. I wish I knew why they don't want my business.
Description of Work: Erasmo came out promptly to look at the property and after a little mix up with my email address I received bids for the 3 different projects I needed done. The bids looked reasonable and I had a good feeling about working with a family business. I emailed some questions to get clarification and then wanted to get started on the projects in stages. His daughter, who works the office, responded to the part of the email that applied to her area of expertise and said Erasmo would respond to the rest of the project-specific questions. After making numerous calls/leaving messages with no response, I've given up. Maybe the jobs were too small, or maybe because I wanted to do them in stages. Whatever the reason, I was disappointed that I couldn't get a returned call.

+ 1 moreThe lawn preparation went very smoothly. Irrigation went in before lawn, 10 zones and timer. Works great with great coverage. The lawn was installed, many pallets, I forgot the count, over 20. With the irrigation system installed we were able to water it thoroughly. Looked fantastic. The flowerbeds were planted with drought tolerant plants and the irrigation drip system ensured it would grow. The lighting was the finishing touch. Now, at night the house is lit very nicely and looks like a million dollars. During the day, the lawn and flowerbed looks just as good.
Description of Work: Installed zoysia lawn, irrigation system, lighting and plants in flower bed. Very big job, lot is .7 acres.
