I've reviewed Arnulfo Martinez once before when we first had him trim trees for us back in 2010. I noticed a couple of recent bad reviews related to communication and thought I'd provide an updated review. We now have a couple of rental properties as well as our home, and have had Arnulfo take care of various tree issues that have arisen over the last couple of years. In all cases, he has always returned calls and taken care of the problems in a prompt manner (and always does a good job!). He is our go-to "tree guy"!

He said he would call before he showed and he did. He showed up on time. They did the work fast.

Called Arnie to request a quote and seemed to get his home answering recording. We were little fazed by that, but left a message and requested him to come out and give us an estimate. Next day he promptly called us back and set up a date/time to come out. Arrived exactly on time on the day agreed upon and walked the property with me to discuss the work. Arnie took the time to jot down notes and gave us some great advice. It's obvious that he knows his plants and has a lot of experience in his field. Called back the next day with an estimate and it was incredibly reasonable in my opinion. We called him back later that night and agreed on a start date (the following Monday). His crew showed up on the first day of work and he had 4-5 guys to kick off the effort. They got right to work and were very diligent and conscientious. They brought in full trailers of limestone and mulch for the job and all the equipment they needed. Arnie supervised the whole first day on the job. They built the border by laying down mortar, chipping and shaping the and quot;bricksand quot; and placing them, and then mortaring in between each to give it a polished, professional look. The next 3 days of work, he had 3 guys working (from the original first day crew) and would show up throughout the day to check in on their progress and supervise. When they were done, they did a really good job of cleaning up and making sure that they completed the entire job. My wife and I are incredibly happy with the work that Arnie and his crew did on our landscaping job. The house looks amazing and all of our friends have been very complimentary. He delivered on everything he promised and did a professional job. We have already hired Arnie to do some additional work and to provide regular lawn care service.

I found Arnulfo Martinez on Angie's list. I was looking for someone local and he turned out to be the nearest one to me. He also had excellent prior reviews from others who live in my neighborhood. I called him, and he responded right away. He came over and listened to what I wanted done, and gave me an estimate the next day. I told him to go ahead and within a few days his crew was at work clearing away the weeds and getting everything ready for the river rock and sod. He and his crew worked quickly and efficiently. It turned out that more rock than necessary was delivered, so I asked him to extend the area to be covered by the rock, which he agreed to do without changing his original bid. (I was very impressed by his flexibility and willingness to alter the project in progress: however, since he had to clear weeds from an additional part of the yard and put down additional weed barrier as well as spread the additional river rocks, I paid him a bit more than his original estimate, although the estimate is the price I've quoted above.) Needless to say, I was completely satisfied with the work he did. The whole project took a little more than a week. Mr. Martinez was very helpful, listened to my original plan, made valuable suggestions regarding the best kind of rock to use and sod preparation, and completed the job in a timely fashion, keeping pretty much to the original timetable he gave me and always letting me know what he was doing and when he and his crew would be working. I'm very pleased with the results and would definitely hire him again for any additional landscaping I might do in the future.

Arnie and his crew have worked on my yard for 3 years. He is unfailingly pleasant, organized, thorough, and so are his crew members. He does excellent work and also has excellent ideas, both for design and for upkeep. You just can't find a better company for landscaping, pruning services, and upkeep.

Needed my grass cut so found this provider on Angie's. The price was $80 so I did not price compare because I was rushed. They did a fine job and allowed me to mail the check. I subsequently found someone else cutting grass in the neighborhood who said that they would do the job for $60, so I moved to this provider. Moved only for reasons of price.

Arnulfo did turn up on schedule to the job site to review the job and gave me a bid. As the house was still in construction, we were flexible regarding when the work should be done, so "punctuality" in that regard doesn't apply. However, I remember that it was completed within the time frame needed. His team did a great job and the trees looked so much better. It's now almost 2 years on and all the trimmed trees remain healthy (despite the drought).

Overall experience was exceptional.

We called Arnulfo, he came to our home, gave us an estimate, came back with a helper and trailer, and did the work. He speaks English very well. He is positive about work to be done and kind to his helper.

I was very pleased with the workmanship and the final out come. I will be using Mr Martinez for future landscaping projects.

Made an appointment, but he didn't show up or call. Called the following week at about 6pm on Friday wanting to come do the work (mow, weed eat and pull a small area of sticktight weeds on approx 1 acre) then. We needed the work done, so we gave to the go ahead for them to come so that we could evaluate their service. The price was quoted for $100. My husband had "mowed" the lawn two days prior, but we still needed the other done. They came, didn't mow lawn, but did the weed eating and weed pulling. We asked if they could also weed eat an area 40 ft by 15 ft. He said no problem. When we were given the bill he had added $50 for the additional weed eating. We felt he should have thrown that in since they didn't mow! Didn't want to argue since we had out-of-town guests at the time. We will not use him again!

Our small yard was in desperate shape. My husband and I have just gone through a year plus of surgeries and sickness. Therefore our yard got mainly ignored. Mowing occasionally was all that ever got done. All of the beds were completely overgrown with weeds. Arnulfo gave us a very reasonable estimate and he and his crew did a very good job. They worked very efficiently and did a very good cleanup job.

I have been using his services for around three years now. I like that he does a good job. He cleans up well when he is done working. His prices are reasonable. If he can't make it out he will call and tell you that he can't. He honors his commitments.

Arnulfo's crew did more work than estimated in less time. He'd projected a full day for a crew of four and it took 5 hours.

I received a call from my mother who needed my assistance with her lawn, as her mower was broken. I thought further, and checked Angie's List on a Sunday, because the grass was too high at this point to cut with a mower. I found Arnulfo as he lived 12 miles away. I called on Sunday and he said he would be glad to go to her home the next day at 8:00 a.m. to give her a quote. I received a call at 8:45 that morning, and he said he brought his equipment and would finish the job within a few hours. He quoted me $80.00 and that was very fair for the work to be done. I told him I could not get there in time to pay him, and he told me don't worry, just mail him the check. How wonderful and trusting he was. I went to my mother's home that same day, and dropped his check in the mail. She said not only did he do a great job with great pride, he also helped her get her mower in her car, and he noticed the car had a flat and he changed her tire. Thank you, for such a wonderful contractor!

They had done work for other people around the area and so I tried them out. They were very efficient and the work they did was excellent. I also like that they were very timely.
