Other bidders on the job insisted upon using Hardie Plank siding at around $5K for the job. I did not want to "dress up my garage" with a skin that would hamper the installation of future fasteners for various projects that I may want to do. Instead, I wanted to simply restore the exterior to basically the same design as when it was new. Mr. LaRocco listened carefully to my priorities and figured out how to install the Hardie Panel directly on the outside of the existing composition siding. In addition, when his suppliers told him that there was no such thing as an exterior quality walk-thru door that was only 24" wide, he took the time and effort to insist upon the right replacement door. (Others wanted to make the opening wider and sell me a $2K job just for the door!) All finish/painting details of the job were done in a professional manner. The garage is better than when it was new, with the higher quality siding and proper exterior grade metal-skinned walk-thru door. (The original door was an inappropriate, indoor, paper door selected by Perry Builders.) I selected door hardware and had it re-keyed to my specifications and he installed it. The old motion-detector security light was kaput. I selected a replacement and he installed it properly. The only aspect of this job that could be more professional is the addition of a written estimate at the beginning of the job. As it turned out, the notes that I made during/after our initial discussion about specifications and price were identical to his own record. That is a little bit risky, especially when doing work for an old fellow like me who sometimes forgets important details.
Description of Work: Garage siding: designed (using my specifications), arranged for delivery of materials and installed all components. Replaced the walk-thru door. Painted exterior of the whole garage.

He was very clear that he would be out of state for 10 days and would come fix it when he came back. He actually called me back from Colorado where he was spending the holidays. He did a really good job fixing my water line. An installer for a water purification system did a poor job a long time ago -- the water line was running right by the driveway and the pipes were very shallow, so when a car went off the driveway and the soil was wet from rain, the weight of the car would actually stretch the connection. He actually redesigned the whole pipe and set it 12 to 15 inches down so it isn't so vulnerable. He did a really great job redesigning it and installing it.
Description of Work: My main water line sprung a leak on Christmas Day, he said he would come fix it when he was back.
