Long Horn Maintenance

Contractor arrived on time and reviewed work I wanted (facia and soffitt repair. chandelier replacement etc). I have worked with this provider before and was disappointed that I had to prod the Provider for a bid. I responded with a detailed list of issues in the bid that needed to be addressed/corrected/added. Nothing further heard from the provider.

It went great. They are very professional and have tons of knowledge on what is best for the structure. I would and will use them in the future for any work that I may need to have done.

Great group of people that was friendly, respectful, and professional. Ben made suggestions that were respectful of my time and budget and his crew was always careful with my property and around my family. I think we have found our contractor for life.

Ben and his crew were awesome to work with. As they got into the job we found a couple of unexpected issues in the walls that had to be dealt with. We were able to make the necessary fixes and keep the job moving without being charged an arm and a leg for the work adders. All of the other anticipated work went as planned with no issues. This was the second job that we've used Ben and his crew on and we have been completely satisfied with both jobs. They do excellent work, are punctual, very respectful of you and your time and your home, and they are just all around nice people to work with plus they do great work at a reasonable price! What more could you ask for? We're looking at a final bathroom modification next year for the master bath downstairs and we are already talking with Ben and his crew about the work. We do most jobs ourselves but when we can't we use and highly recommend Long Horn Maintenance for the job!

He stated that he would email my estimate within one week to my email address which he verified. We had corresponded by email previously. One week later there was no estimate, so I called him. He said he would have it to me within the next 2 days. Later the following week there was still no estimate, so I called again. Again he said in 1-2 days. Today is 7/26/2014 and I still don't have an estimate. I consider this unprofessional. Even if he were to finally provide an estimate, I would not give him the job because if he can't be bothered to follow through on his promises of getting the estimate to me, I am afraid that he would not be professional or punctual on the actual job of remodeling the shower.

After my first contractor started flaking on me, I started looking for someone else who could actually get my shower done. We already had all the materials, just needed the labor. Ben got back to me quickly and we set a time for him to come take a look. Took longer than expected to get a quote back, but it was fair and he could start work the same week. Tile guys showed up just when he said they would. I gave them the run down, showed them where all the materials were and they got to work. Three days later I had a beautifully tiled shower and backsplash. Ben also referred me to a glass company he frequently uses for the glass I still needed for the shower enclosure. Great guy to work with, excellent experience, and I would definitely call him again if I need more work done. I actually already recommended him to my mother in law who is doing some work at her beach house.

Ben came out and gave me an estimate to repair a sheetrock crack across the top of my 16-foot high living room wall. A date and time were set for when the work would be done. On that day Ben brought Lucas, a true sheetrock expert. Lucas scraped off all the dried and crack sheetrock, applied new mud and sanded it smooth. My walls have a kind of pebbly texture to them. Not a problem for Lucas. A handful of kitty litter mixed in with the paint and he re-created the pebbly texture. It is impossible to see the difference between the original wall and the repaired wall. His work is superior. Not only that, when Lucas was finished, he made sure that there was not a trace of dust left behind. He definitely exceeded my expectations.

They gave me a quote. They are doing a good job. I will continue to use them.

Ben's crew were friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, competent, and proactive. Ben took control of a problem with our supplier and arranged for materials to be delivered. They moved furniture to lay the floor and put it back. Each day, they cleaned up. After the job was complete, Ben walked us through each room to ensure we were satisfied and answer any questions. If we had any concerns during an install, each member took time to explain to our satisfaction. After completion, I asked Ben what the typical customer did during construction. We agreed we should have moved out and removed all furniture for the job. It worked out and we learned a good lesson. The crew relocated all furniture as we wished. Overall, we are very satisfied with their work and will definitely use Long Horn Maintenance, Ben Franklin, for more remodeling. We were very content with the cost. We told our friends and family about Ben and his crew and recommended them.

We didn't go with his bid but it wasn't a bad experience. He was very professional. The only reason we didn't choose them was because we got a cheaper bid. He was a little late for something. We had to reschedule. There was a little bit of a glitch and it's nothing major. It wasn't terrible. Once we scheduled the meeting, they came out. I would consider him in the future.

My new kitchen is both beautiful and functional, Ben and his crew replaced floor tile, countertops, and backsplash,They installed new appliances and plumbing fixtures. Cabinets were repainted and glazed and new hardware was installed. Walls were painted and Venecian plastered. Window was reframed with custom design. Attention to detail was evident. Ben, Lucas, and Glen were responsive to every request I made and expedited the process when our completion date was moved up a week. They maintained a clean safe environment for the entire three week process. I would be proud to show off my beautiful new kitchen.

I thought it went real well. You have to love the name of the guy (Benjamin Franklin!). He came out as scheduled and looked over the rotten areas of the patio cover. Made some suggestions that really helped us out. By shortening the overhang, we could reduce the cost of the replacement area and it provided better sunlight to the grass underneath. We researched the door we wanted for the patio at Home Depot. He gave us an estimate that day. The estimate had to be adjusted due to unseen rotten wood, but other than that it was spot on. The breakdown of the bill was as follows: repair patio roof $760, extra repair for unseen rotten wood $300, install storm door $150, and cost of new door $248, for a total of $1458 - less 10% discount of $145.80, final cost $1312.20. In one day, he came with his crew and replaced the door, shored up the surrounding wood on the door frame, trimmed all the old, rotten wood off the patio, replaced and painted all new wood. They cleaned up and left everything in place. He did have to come the next day to adjust the door, so that it shut smoothly and locked every time. After 8 months I am still very satisfied, and if I need further home repair I wouldn't have any problems contacting him again.

Mr. Franklin came to my home on 8-31-13 as agreed to prepare an estimate. He told me to give him 1-2 days to get the estimate prepared. I called him on 9-4-13 to check on the status. He told me he was waiting on a tile guy (my bathroom floor was 25sf) to get with him on a price. I don't think that 25sq should hold up a much bigger estimate. To date, I still have not heard from him.

It didn't go at all!!! Called him three times and twice he said he'd come out and give me a bid and never showed up. A total waste of time, don't bother.

We met with the provider, discussed the project, received his bid, and signed a contract with him to provide service. I had forgotten to mention including a shampoo/soap dispenser niche, but he asked about which I wanted--a niche, a soap dish, a shelf, etc. So glad he did. I was then able to send him a picture of the one I had installed several years ago in another home. He has been punctual. He knows his business, and asks good questions to clarify the work we wished to be completed. His bid was reasonable for the services to be performed. The work was completed satisfactorily. One measure of working with a person or company is how they respond when correction is necessary. We requested a correction, and Ben was very responsive, and got the change done very satisfactorily. We would be pleased to work with him and his company again. The completed shower is beautiful.

Based on the email link on their website and their listing on Angie's List, I sent them an email on August 3, 2013 outlining the basic service I needed (install of 2 entry doors w/some possible trim work needed). After 3 days, no one emailed me or called me. I have contacted another service for an estimate.

My experience with them has beery good. We talked about what we wanted and how we wanted it and Ben delivered it. Whatever you want, he is going to work with you and he’ll tell you if you’re not making the right decision. It’s a partnership versus a contractor. We saw a review on him and tried him for a small project and had said we’re kind of looking at different contractors. After having him work on one small project, we just knew we would hire him going forward. We are happy with the ending results. I loved everything about their service and most importantly is their honesty. I don’t mind that he is busy. You may need to wait for him on repairs but I get in his schedule and that works best for me. He is worth the wait. You would never know they’ve been there.

Very well done. Took longer than I expected, but I was happy with the overall job. Waited awhile to respond to make sure I didn't still have a leak (that's what started it all). Good people to work with. Willing to adjust to new work on the fly.

They came out and looked at the deck and gave me a quote for that. They seem to know what to do with metal, what most people do with wood.

We feel like we have a new friend in Ben Franklin. He was easy to work with and very professional. He was patient with us when we couldn't decide just what we wanted. We changed our minds several times. The finished product is AWESOME! We will definitely call Ben the next time we need something done around our house.

Good at answering phone, but not punctual. Had to call several times to get him to show for a quote. Very nice and knowledgeable in person. Never emailed a formal quote, so never used. Quote seemed a bit high.
