Scheduled with Charles for 09/12/2015 at 12:30pm. At 1:00pm I called to find out where he is and he said he was running late and asked if he could come out the next day instead. The next morning we agreed I would call him and determine an exact time to have him to the house. I called him and we said we'd meet in an hour. He showed up 90 minutes later. To his credit, he knows his business but is very unprofessional. I told him multiple times we needed the two street-facing privacy fences (one with gate) installed as soon as possible and there would be a chance to do a common fence too if our neighbor agreed and would help with cost. Not once did he say he would only do the job if all three sections would be done at the same time despite my repeating what is needed versus potential / future work. My estimate didn't arrive and I called him letting him know, he wrote the wrong email down and resent it. After reviewing and comparing (he was not the cheapest), I decided that despite his inability to not show up when promised, I felt his work would compensate. (I have had really good work from contractors that didn't start off on the right foot before.) I called him on 9/15/2015 and let him know I would like to schedule the work for the two sections right away and to let me know his earliest time/day to start the work. He said he had to get another quote to me to show the change in work. I asked him why, when from the get-go, these two sections were the only reason I am calling and there would only be a possibility for the third portion if the neighbor would assist financially. He didn't provide an answer and said he would email the new quote. I called from 9/16 to 9/24 four times; three times from my cell and left messages. My last message asked if he had a change or wanted to cancel this job altogether. No response. Nothing. I called from my work phone and he answered on the second ring! I asked him why he didn't return my calls and what is going on and he said he couldn't do the job because it was not enough for him to pay a crew, materials and such for such a small job. Who does business like this? I don't understand the unprofessionalism and lack of respect. Thank goodness I won't be working with this company nor will I refer him or this company to anyone in our newly developed neighborhood.

In spite of having used this contractor on two previous jobs with which we were very satisfied, we will never use this company again. The reason? Failure to respond to repeated e-mail and telephone messages. Our job was to add the final gate to the fence constructed earlier by Lonestar Fence (office on Tibet Street) and to have a pergola kit constructed. When a contractor does not return repeat calls, it is for one of two reasons: too much work, or job too small. In my email to Steve Rodgers I asked him to do me the courtesy of responding, even if he did not want the job. Manners and courtesy are severly lacking in this instance.
Description of Work: Provider did nothing.
