The technician found the remains of a lizard that shorted out the doorbell. Instead of replacing the doorbell switch with a new one, he basically wiped off the old switch, and did not fix the light on it, and reinstalled it. It did ring for 2 days after he did that and quit again. I called them, emailed, and left messages that the switched was still broken. I didn't get a reply for over a month. By the time that they did finally reply, I had already had to buy a new switch myself and had to hire someone else to install the new switch. Their service was horrible.

I bought a light fixture I fell in love with and tried to put it up myself with advice from my husband but it became more than I could handle and they came out and fixed what I had not done right and finished the project in just 1hour. Now I'm thinking of getting them back out to put the same fixture in a diff room (it doesn't put out as much light as I expected it to).

JL Floyd Services was contracted with my home warranty company to respond to an issue with one of my lights. I suspected it was the ballast that had gone bad, but wanted it to be verified. JL Floyd sent a technician out who confirmed that it was the ballast that was bad, and I was informed that the home warranty did not cover ballast replacement. No biggie, I understand there are exclusions, and I would have been more than happy to have paid out-of-pocket for the repair if it had been excluded. However, the technician that was sent out stated that they do not perform ballast replacements. I don't know if this was his way of saying that it wasn't covered under the warranty, but we interpreted it as him saying the company did not do ballast replacements. I thought that was strange, but whatever. The technician left after we paid the home warranty service call fee, and he was on-site for about 15 minutes total. Now, a couple of days passed by and I get a phone call from J.L. himself who I guess was reviewing service ticket receipts and noticed the service call that had been performed with the note of "bad ballast," but no other details. So he called me up and asked me what it was they had done, and I explained to them that really nothing had been done but confirm what I already knew. He spoke to their technician and called me back and he said if I could go and buy the ballast, he would have his guy come out and install the ballast at no cost, since the technician spent so little time here and the service call fee would cover the labor time. As you can imagine, I was very pleased with this phone call. I went and got the new ballast (less than $20 at home depot) and his technician came by the next day to install it. It was great to see the owner of the company reviewing what his guys are doing and seeing something that didn't seem quite right, reaching out to his customer to see what he could do to solve our problem. Although I did not choose/pick JL Floyd Services to perform this work, based on what I experienced, I would gladly choose them if I need any future electrical work done.

They were knowledgeable and polite, both while providing the quote and while working on site. I would definitely recommend them to others. I recently purchased my home and found that it was overrun with toxic mold. I have had to tear most of the place back to the studs. It has been a nightmare and costs have been all out of pocket. JR Floyd services was very kind and understanding about my budget restrictions and worked with me to bring the place up to code. In fact, Mr. Floyd was kind enough to provide services to me at a discount. In addition, the technician at the site, was more than willing to help me on random things that I was doing around the house or explain why certain things were done. As a single mother, it is very nice when a person talks to you instead of down to you.

Jeff and his team were awesome. They were super clean and professional. They helped come in make suggestions in getting the new electrical work placed in for all the new equipment. Micah stayed and make sure that he things were running even after the job was done. The remodel contractor and media specialists complimented the way things were run and setup. They cut into drywall and the new media cabinet and kept things nice and tidy. Jeff and his team also has worked on several of my commercial projects. Those projects ranged from very large projects EX: Southside Place Fire Engine Park (all the park lighting, security gate electrical, and tennis court wiring upgrades) and at Pin Oak Middle School score boards, projector and screen installations. Seems the company should know the code.I am tired been out of my home since 10/02 r 04/19.no stove ,no dishwasher or washer and dryer .I set in limbo scared of contractors ......I pay even before job is done......................even if on your list please check them out very disappointed in results. I am not rich and I pay because of this ordeal I can not help my son finish school.I feel contractor should fix problems and not talk about what a bad job I got. I know this and cost me well over 50,000 and had to start job over The law will change to easy for them to start up then close down when confronted with their mistakes. Wished I would have moved out and moved to another place what I've spent could have purchased another home. I should not battle this every day my God this is .wrong
