Description of Work: I contacted Danny on a Sunday. This was the weekend after Hurricane Harvey. I'm needing an estimate knowing that with all the people in Houston and the surrounding communities that also had damage due to the storm my chances of getting an estimate was slim to none. Danny responded immediately. Unfortunately, he was a victim of the storm as well. Danny told me to send some pictures detailing the damage and he would try to send me an estimate. I really can't believe he took the time to call me. Based on his personal circumstances and responding to my request so quickly, I have no doubt that he would do a great job!  + 4 moreThe cabinets we ordered arrived weeks earlier than we anticipated and that caused a bit of mess in our timetable. There was also a bit of miscommunication between us in the middle of the project, but we resolve it promptly. He accidentally made an error in one of the cabinets, but he did his best to fix it and even though it's not perfect, it was pretty good. He's open to our ideas and will make suggestions if he thinks it's not a good one, but in the end he'll do what he can to please us. We had to leave for a pre-planned vacation for a week, and we trusted Danny with our house and when we came back, the kitchen was pretty much done, with some minor touch ups left. In general, he did a great job with our kitchen and living room, and you can definitely trust him with your home.
Description of Work: We did a whole kitchen remodeling, including changing the floor plan, installing new cabinets and flooring. We also change the wall panels in the living room to regular drywall.

 + 1 moreI contracted Danny and his side kick to redo the kitchen cabinets. I thought he would have a difficult time doing this project for the house was built in 1975 and had an old styling. Having cabinets over the bar hanging from the sealing and not being able to use all the space in the corner. Danny was not concerned about all these like I was. Once the supplies was here, he put the cabinets up just as I had wanted and even built a new pony wall, (cabinets over the bar). He did a wonderful job and left knowing I was happy and satisfied. Thank you Danny.

 + 0 moreDanny planned the installation most carefully, even enlisting the aid of the people at the McCoy's where we bought the door. (Kudos to McCoy's, btw; they were most helpful in many ways.) Danny carefully removed and hauled away the old double door and its frame and installed the new. He and one assistant worked carefully to get the installation right. It was approved by an engineer for the purposes of windstorm insurance (which cost us an additional $300). One false note: five pieces of scrap lumber with nails were left in our flower bed. Otherwise, it looks like a fine job, and we are happy with the result.

 + -1 moreWe've had numerous contractors work on various parts of our house, and we've had some awful experiences. Danny easily ranks at the top as the best contractor we've hired. He arrived on time to our first consultation, and he spent some time talking to me about my house and my bathroom so that we were on the same page. He gave us a very fair price, especially compared to the ridiculous quote we got from a home supply store. We signed a contract with him, and he scheduled the date for work a month ahead so we knew when to expect him. Danny always returned our phone calls promptly, and he was easy to communicate with. Originally, we hired him to remove an old, rusty tub and replace it with a fiberglass shower stall, which included altering the plumbing. But we quickly realized that since the old sink and toilet had to be removed (in order to get the tub out of the tiny bathroom), we would be smart to replace everything. Danny didn't bat an eye: he got us a new price and took care of those items as well. All work was completed professionally and completely. My one regret is that he had to move on to the next job because I have other parts of my house that need renovation!
Description of Work: originally--bathtub replacement, but once we got going we had him replace our toilet, sink, and flooring, too.

 + 2 moreThis was a major renovation and the job went without a hitch from start to finish. Danny and his assistant were always on time and cleaned and picked up after every day. We never had any interruptions at all. On the first day he set up a plastic tent to help prevent so much dust escaping during the demolition process and sheetrock removal and repair. This helped tremendously throughout the entire process and took every precaution to protect our belongings while working. The job started on time and finished on time which was approximately 3 weeks. He always kept in touch with us if arrival time was going to be delayed due to getting supplies, etc. which was considerate and much appreciated. I would highly recommend Danny of Danny Did IT for any remodel job to be done large or small. He is very talented, reliable and considerate and most of all easy to work with which made this 1st remodel job PAINLESS from start to finish. I did NOT have a referral for Danny Did IT, I just took a chance and it paid off for us. Glad we found such a talented contractor to do our first remodel job. In fact, he will be doing our other two bathrooms and kitchen in the very near future. We have him booked already and can't wait to work with him and his assistance again. Also, where does one find a contractor that will let your pups out for a potty break? That was a plus for me for sure. If you are thinking about remodeling, consider Danny of Danny Did IT, we had an excellent experience with this contractor and wouldn't even consider hiring anyone else for a job. Description of Work: Danny Did It remodeled our Master Bathroom. (Danny Hilger) The bathroom was 24 years old and nothing had been done so it needed some major updating and renovation and Danny was up for the challenge. He suggested that we take out the wall between the shower and spa tub as this would enlarge our shower and it definitely gave more shower space and an open feeling, not so boxed in. He framed the vanity mirror to give a more finished look over the triple vanity and the 4ft window that is over the spa tub area. He removed all wallpaper, textured (to perfection) and painted the walls in the bath, powder room and closet, doors, and trim so everything is fresh and new. He added a pocket door which was more involved than I thought, but he completed that task with flying colors. That was more sheet rock removal, and adding sheetrock, texture and paint. The pocket door he suggested allows the use of one of the vanities which was always hidden behind the existing door when open. We also wanted to add tile to the floor, shower, powder room and closet area so we talked about this and came up with a plan regarding style, color, and design for floor and shower. Danny was very knowledgable in the size of porcelain tile to use and what would look the best in these areas, so we chose a 12x24" tile for flooring and a 16x16" tile for shower and around the spa tub area. His guidance through the process was invaluable. The existing cabinets were not going to work, so he designed and built new cabinets for the bathroom vanity. (excellent job I may add) We added granite to the top and he suggested that we take the decorative trim that was in the shower and use for the back splash on the vanity. This just made everything come together and added balance to the room. We love it. He added LED canned lighting over shower, spa tub and throughout the bathroom which has made a tremendous difference in lighting. Also, he added 3 decorative LED pendant lighting over the vanity areas which added extra lighting and interest to the room. It just sets the cabinets and granite off. A must in updating if possible. We also added flush mount LED lighting in the closet and powder room which is amazing. He also added a high profile toilet for the powder room and changed out all existing fixtures to new, more updated fixtures.

Description of Work: We recently bought our house and the garage ceiling had several slowly growing water stains. Danny came out and removed the dry wall, and surprise plywood, so that the plumber could look for the cause. Long story short, after 3 months of looking for the problem, the issue was resolved. On both jobs Danny showed up when he said he was going to with all of the tools and materials he needed to complete the jobs and finished the jobs when he said he was going to. We will definitely be bring him in to work with again.
Description of Work: Danny remodeled the laundry room in our rental house, which included moving and adding electrical outlets, adding a dryer vent and relocating all the water connections for the washer. He also did a large sheetrock repair in the bathroom of our house.

 + -1 moreDanny did a fantastic job! He thought of details that I didn't even consider. The balcony above the porch didn't have finials on the corners. It didn't looked finished. He recommended adding them. They look great! The damage to the porch was more extensive than originally thought. The previous owner had cut corners by using MDF crown. Outside?! Really?! Obviously, this swelled and deteriorated from moisture. As a result, the wood underneath was rotting. Danny removed the rotten wood, discussed with me the additional work needed, then made the necessary repairs. The repairs were completed in a day and he returned the next morning to paint. He was also able to match the paint perfectly. Danny is a craftsman and knows what he's talking about. I also like that he is honest about what he will and won't do. To my husband's dismay, I have a long list of work for Danny in the future! 🙂

 + -1 moreDanny was as real as you can get! He was upbeat ready to be of service to my house's needs. He pointed out what the roof needed for a tight seal and quoted a reasonable price for the job. When I showed him some other spaces I was concerned about ( there was a hole behind my dishwasher between the floor and the sheetrock) he happily repaired it for no charge! He gives sound and real advice on the the little things that need fixing in the house. I will definitely be hiring him for this leak and future jobs as well!
