Ray, my handyman did an excellent job on all the repairs and even repainted the entire chimney giving it a new refurbished look. I was very pleased with the results and may hire him again for some additional home remodeling work.

I am a huge fan of Handyman Matters. My first interaction with the company was with Danielle, the Customer Service Rep. She explained the process of working with Handyman Matters thoroughly and answered a ton of questions that I had before, during the repair period, and after. She was also very helpful in providing directions/instructions when I dropped by the office to submit payment. I have never experienced an issue with getting a prompt response to a random question, even when she was on vacation! It's the little things that make a big impact where customer service is concerned. Danielle helped me schedule an estimate with Duane. He showed up, asked a bunch of questions, fully understood what I needed - complete small bath remodel, replaced a pedestal sink with a full-size vanity in the master bath, repaired several sections of drywall in two additional rooms that had gaping holes, and replaced a garage side-entry door. He completed the work for me and was in my home for over two weeks. Duane is extremely professional, highly skilled, and is way more than a handy man. He understands and can fix any sort of plumbing/electrical/carpentry/drywall/painting/structural issues that you may have. He is excellent at providing a shopping list for the items a customer can easily purchase on their own - huge cost savings there. And there were zero issues with items he purchased for "behind the scenes" work that went into my project. Raymond also helped finish up the work on my home. He is a great finisher with an eye for detail. His caulk/paint finishes completed my punch list items to my satisfaction. Finally, I cannot say enough about the owner, Ron. He is a man of integrity, very knowledgeable about the business side of house repairs, and helped me finish out the repairs on my home caused by Hurricane Harvey on a high note. This means the world to me. I will use Handyman Matters for all of my future home repair needs - from small scale jobs to large scale jobs. Everyone I interacted with at this company is concerned with delivering great customer service, being fair, working hard, and doing quality work. I have hired other individuals and other remodeling companies in the past but this is the first time I've felt that the folks working on my home actually cared about leaving the customer satisfied. This is the type of company you would recommend to your family and friends.

Found out lights don't flickering if turn up brightness. No work done but a bit of time spent verifying everything installed correctly. Very nice electrician. Too bad the company doesn't have a lower minimum payment. But they said beforehand that I would have to pay $128 no matter what, so I was not surprised.

This company specifically says it provides free quotes on Angie's list. It doesn't. I was initially told that they could give me a quote but they charge a $40 'trip fee' that's 'returnable' if they get the work. A trip fee? That's manipulative. The service being provided is a quote - so the $40 is a quote fee. I (like many) usually get a few bids when I have a project that's going to cost over 1K. Why should I pay anyone (especially someone I'm not familiar with) $40 when almost everyone else provides free quotes? More importantly, why should I trust a company, in which I've never used before, that says they provide free quotes - when they don't? My response from their Customer Service Rep (In fairness to their CSR - she was extremely polite in all of our correspondence and is doing as she's told) "We do charge a $40 trip fee to provide a quote that you do get back towards your work you get done. We can’t go around all day doing free quotes. We get about 25 quotes a day and this is a way for us to know who is serious and who isn’t." Too bad - I was serious, and they not only lost this job but they lost thousands of dollars in a ton of future remodel work that I have planned over the next 2 years.

I'm satisfied with the work performed. I think Handyman Matters is a well managed company. However 688.00 dollars for a 8 hour day of Labor is outrageous for a handyman. Replacing boards does not require a special craft or technician.

They gave me an approximate price (based on my description) and I booked an appt. First, the office called me the a.m. of my appt. to let me know there would be 2 people showing up (one was "in training"). I liked that. They also called to see if they could come out a little earlier as they finished a job early. OF COURSE I SAID YES. Both were very nice and professional. I had the faucet purchased already but they suggested I use "shark" valves. I was all for that! Anyway, they checked to make sure there was no "damage to the outlet or electrical...installed the faucet...made sure I was happy with how it looked etc. I was SUPER EXCITED! They finished the job in less time than what I was quoted....and charged me LESS than the "estimate over the phone". This is the 2nd time I have used them...the first time was a MUCH bigger job (had to cut out and replace some siding that had rotted along with the plywood underneath). I won't ever hesitate to call HANDYMAN MATTERS. They are experts in everything they do. They are professional and super nice! The office called me after they left to make sure I was happy with the service! (They actually called me a week prior to this request asking me if I had any issues with the siding job they did almost a year ago.) I also received an email from the owner the next day stating they had made a mistake and over charged me by $10.00. I was so impressed by this as well. I was worried they had "under charged" me. It is such a relief to know that I have a company that I can call for anything I need done in my house. THANK YOU HANDYMAN MATTERS for giving me the peace of mind of knowing if I need to call to get something fixed...you will always be there and you will do the job right. I am VERY picky about things....I like perfection.....I like things neat and clean. THAT is why HANDYMAN MATTERS is my handyman company!!!

Paul not only showed up on time but called and asked if he could come earlier as he had finished his prior appointment. Of course I said yes. He did great work. I'll definitely use this company again and request Paul.

very well....you call them and they explain how it works,very easy, were on time and also gave me some tips for later..... not enough o's in smooth as how it went

Two sets of drapes installed, hinges replaced on one cabinet door, outside gate raised/leveled so would open easily, 2 towel bars reinstalled so wouldn't fall out of wall. The work was performed well and at a reasonable price. My B rating is more for the admin side. Handyman not aware of all tasks when he arrived, so did not have needed equipment. This happened twice, during initial visit for estimate and 2nd rescheduling. As it rained when he did the rest of the work, it didn't matter. I still plan on hiring them again whenever I have another list ready.

Terrible! Paid for a whole day. Had a list of things I would have liked done, technician was only able to replace the attic stairway. Receptionist told that it did not matter if I purchased materials before technician arrived, that was not true. They buy their materials at retail from hardware store and upcharge the price considerably. I was told that the handyman would accept the coupon at the end of the day. I Presented an Angie's List coupon for $25 and he said he could not accept it stating that I was already getting a price break because I paid for a full day. Almost $1100 to replace an attic stairway. I now get to paint it myself!! Company is all about the $$$$

Didn't go as planned. The woman who scheduled our appointment neglected to tell us that they don't have certified plumbers to do this type of work (why not?!). So, when the guy arrived he couldn't do the job we called for. We ended up having him do a couple of small things. It wasted our time and money. They have an excellent reputation, so I will give them another chance, but be more careful in the future to be very clear on what is required. We used HM of Galveston on several occasions and they were great, but they're no longer in business. I think the owner retired.

Great! Paul Weaver was customer-oriented, an efficient worker, and a good craftsman.

He came the same day, very punctual, timely, took my $25 off coupon.

I contacted this company to replace the entry door from my garage into the house. I asked for a weekend install and even though they don't usually work weekends one of the craftsmen volunteered to do the work. Duane kept in constant contact regarding his arrival. Duane is extremely experienced in this work and highly professional. He provided very professional advice on future projects I am considering. I am extremely satisfied with Duane and this company. I will use them again!

Terrible.. Late.. Disappeared. Was told one thing about charges and then another after they left. Did not finish the job. Going on three weeks now with them still not done and they want to come back to finish.. but Im on their schedule.

The job was difficult; but it was a success. Craig studied the requirements, the components, and details of the cook-top location before starting the work. It took a while; but the work progressed steadily as it overcame various complications including duct alignment and connecting wires which were a bit too short. It was more complicated than it seemed originally. I was glad Craig had multiple expertise to handle the different issues. He showed up on time, and he was also very pleasant to talk to during the process. I would use Handyman Matters of Clear Lake again.

I needed some gutters and floor laid, and I called Handyman Matters. Paul came out, he was great, took measurements and answered all my questions. He did everything right and was a very nice person. He said he would get back to me last Monday. Monday and Tuesday passed with no email or calls. I called on Wednesday and they said someone would get back to me. Thursday came and no one contacted me. I called agian on Friday, I was told someone would get back to me. Monday came, and I tore up his card and his bulletin. I expected them to follow up with me. I know things slip through the cracks but I am very disappointed. This is my first time using Angie's List, and I may not continue my Angie's List membership even though I still have a year left Paul was professional and super. He answered all my questions, but the company dropped the ball. I am giving them an F. It's a judgement call, because they did not follow through.
